Boehner offers 6-week deal on increase to deficit --- Is it Victory, Capitulation or Standoff ?

In Kudlow interview,  Representative Lynn Jenkins (R-Ks), Vice Chairperson of the House Republican Conference, describes what was told to Obama at the White House  --- Kudlow and his panel agreed that Jenkins' remarks on his program signaled a virtual capitulation by the GOP House Leadership on both the shut down and the debt ceiling

On Thursday, October 10, 2013, House Speaker John Boehner and the Republican Leadership in the House of Representatives BLINKED and started to make offers to Obama and the Democrats. On the Thursday Evening  Kudlow Show on CNBC, Lynn Jenkins said that the House GOP Leadership had explained to the President exactly what was being offered. Then she said, that in addition to the lifting of the debt ceiling for about six weeks, agreements could be reached to reopen the government by Monday.

And, what would the Republicans get for all their huffing and puffing an threatening to blow the White House down?
---  The appointment of confrerees to negotiate on all matters, with a target of a combined "permanent"debt ceiling deal and a 2014 budget agreement. "All matters" might include a fix of Obamacare; then again, maybe not.

Victory, Capitulation, Compromise or Stand-off ?   You tell me !

UPDATE: AT THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS FRIDAY --- THE GOP POSITION ON THE SHUTDOWN AND THE INCREASE IN THE TREASURY DEBT CEILING IS A COMPLETE CAVE-IN

Since nobody told me in just about exactly 24 hours, then I'll have to tell you...

Bret Baier, Chris Matthews and Larry Kudlow and I all think this is going to be a complete GOP capitulation. With the possible exception of Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, Republicans have looked at yesterday's WSJ-NBC Poll and said "Enough ! Obama wins, Obamacare stays, trim back the sequester and increase the debt some more....

Good old Senator Lindsay Graham says the shut down might be over as early as 24 hours from close of business Friday. In fact, several national monuments will be open starting tomorrow morning -- what does that tell you ? -- Hint, the fix is in; the deal has already been made -- all that's left is tweaking.

It's so bad that Orin Hatch says that Obama has already announced that he wants a tax increase as part of the deal, or as a given starting point in any post-shutdown negotiations.

Because of RINOs and other scaredycats in the GOP, Obama and the Democrats have been emboldened and there will be no real negotiating except on what the Democrats expect to get out of all of this.

Hopefully, the GOP members leaving DC for the weekend solidifies the backsliders and doesn't result in a complete rout -- the House leadership is staying behind wringing their hands and hoping Obama and the Dems throw them a life-preserver.

Boehner and the House GOP leadership appeared on TV a little while ago and in essence said that they would have some counter-proposals to what's being negotiated in the Senate that would have something to do with Obamacare and be based on "fairness to the American people." Nobody knows what they were talking about.

Then Nancy Palosi came on and said that Boehner and the GOP don't have the votes for their proposals. Steny Hoyer then came on to say the Republicans were engaged in confrontation for the sake of confrontation with tremendous impact on the lives of the American by obstructing the compromise that was coming out of the Senate. Congressman Xavier Becerra says that the Republicans are trying to sabotage the efforts in the Senate to attempt to avoid going over the fiscal cliff -- all because of a family feud among the House Republicans.

Why does Boehner not have the votes ? What Republicans are not there for 217 votes for a "House Republican" proposal ? IS IT BECAUSE THE HOUSE REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP PROPOSAL IS REALLY A VEILED SURRENDER THAT MANY REPUBLICANS WON'T SUPPORT ?
