“Firebrand” Nancy Pelosi violated her oath of office as a Member of Congress when she counseled the POTUS to flout the will of Congress, to violate the Law of the Land, and to go rogue with a tortured application of a particularized section of a constitutional amendment

Pelosi’s comments on Face the Nation are not some abstract intellectual exercise as part of routine political jockeying for position, nor are they merely PR posturing for those on her side of the aisle.

—  These comments by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives are akin to treason because they called into question the constitutional authority of the Congress of the United States to control the nation’s purse strings.

—   For this, Pelosi needs to be disciplined and ejected from the House of Representatives immediately.

Pelosi and like-minded radical Democrats would turn constitutional language and precedent on its head by holding that language concerning the full faith and credit of the United States on debts already lawfully incurred applies equally to any limitations on the level of debt to be incurred in the future.  The specific language being put into issue is contained in the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and states that the “... validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.”

The Pelosi-counseled interpretation, if followed and allowed to stand,  would result in a complete shift of congressional authority to the Executive Branch; and it would destroy the concept of governmental checks and balances that has been in place since the ratification of the U.S. Constitution.

WHAT  TO  DO  WHEN  THE  DEMOCRATS  ENGAGE  IN  THIS  KIND  OF “CRAZY TALK”

Somebody high in the House and Senate GOP leadership should warn the nation of the suggestion of a coup by the Executive implicit in former Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s remarks on Face The Nation yesterday ( and should President Obama indicate in any way that his legal interpretation has CHANGED from what he had expressed in 2011 to the  possible adoption of  a Pelosi-style interpretation, then the warning should be of an IMPENDING COUP by the Executive and the possibility of general disorder or even civil war).  In addition to urging the ejection of Pelosi from their body, the most patriotic Members of the House should press the current Speaker to immediately impanel an omnibus impeachment committee as a shot across the bow of the President -- and a reminder to all -- of our common history of limiting executive authority going back to Magna Carta.  —   The Speaker needs to  particularly note the fate of Charles the First after his attempts to Rule by Divine Right ignoring the legislative control of the public fisc.
