The Appellate Division for the Second Department affirmed the trial decision of Hon. David Schmidt that gave a lot to Hayon and a little to Greenfield in their cases back and forth over the ballot for the 44th Council District. The AppDiv's decision was a legalistic version of "Forget it with your legalistic arguments, get out of here...." It specifically agreed that Joseph Hayon was not given adequate notice by the BOE that he needed to make certain specific corrections to his cover sheet. As a result Hayon's place on the ballot as the Republican candidate is all but assured. Similarly, David Greenfield will maintain his position of advantage by running as the candidate of the Democratic, Conservative and Independence Parties in the November elections.
Next stop for these guys --- the NYS Court of Appeals.

Jerry Kassar always yells at Hayon --- but what Kassar doesn't get is that Hayon likes it.

They are the only people on earth who might believe that...." and even I'm not that sure about Janet or Fran. But as it appears here in print, it looks either like Kassar himself or, more likely, somebody pretending to be Kassar.
The only movement Kassar holds together is one that involves evacuation of waste material, because that is what he is full of. Real Republicans and conservatives do the heavy lifting and then CON-man Kassar and his crew swoop in to take the credit if things go right, or points the finger away and talks s#!t if things go wrong. And as long as someone from ANY party is paying up, that is all that matters to CON-man Kassar.
Over the same period of time, has anybody stood up to Kassar over and over again the way that Joseph Hayon has?
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Kassar or Greenfield don't care about Hayon aside from the times where being a jerk toward him make them feel good about themselves - they certainly aren't concerned about the vote in November. Although I want Hayon to win the seat (he's by far the better candidate), the fact is that he doesn't know how to campaign. You can't even donate on his web site without mailing in a form (he doesn't take online donations) - get with the 21st century like the voters you represent.
Hayon doesn't campaign in traditional ways. He concentrates on Orthodox Jewish and other religious communities, and he makes various moral and religious arguments to the spiritual leaders and teachers that he meets. He spends little to no money and gets better results than most Republican and Conservative party candidates for similar offices.
He has also delivered significant votes for candidates like Bob Turner and David Storobin.

Some of Hayon's advisers have discussed his becoming a Conservative Party member in order to reform that party and bring it back to its social conservative values and expand its base of voters, who are mostly social conservative Republicans of the T.E.A. Party type.
I heard there are a bunch of former and soon to be former republicans thinking the same thing. They have told me that the republican party is damaged and the conservative party is the only hope as long as it can be fixed.
Careful folks, I believe that there are laws that prohibit mass party re-registration under certain circumstances.
I dare someone to sue me/us over that. We are conservative republicans and have a right to join any party we choose. As long as there is no coordination of the reregistrants then there is no party raiding.

But, it's unlikely to be "sue" and more likely "prosecute" if there is a prima facie for "raiding"....
