For those wondering what Ted Ghorra has under his toupe --- first it's a pasty white scalp; then comes a very thick skull; and under that, there's a dura mater that doesn't really matter, because the rest is lots of pure Portland Grade cement where most people have brains.
Ted's GOP is going to lose whatever cred they might have had in the Asian community in the Sunset & Boro Park neighborhoods from the late 2022 and early 2023 fight to seat Lester Chang as a Brooklyn Assemblyman by substituting Vito LaBella to run in the new 43rd Council District that was drawn specifically to empower voters in the Asian community to elect one of their own. This will be Vito La Bella's second attempt to deprive an Asian from a chance to represent an Asian district in two successive elections.

Ghorra had been rude and dismissove of two formidable GOP Asian's that expressed interest in running in the 43rd Council race --- Ying Ying Tan (Ted's being even ruder and downright threatening to her husdand) and Bernie Chou. Because of that, Ted Ghorra's anti-Asian animus is a major topic of conversation among the very Asian Republicans and independents whose support LaBella would need during any general election campaign in the 43rd Council District up to and including Election Day in November.
Don't be fooled by any of Ghorra's phony logic, explanations or excuses. The dynamics that gave Vito La Bella a good showing in 2022 will not be in play for him in 2023.

We'll see soon enough how many Republicans hate Kagan if there is a GOP primary in June.
But more important than that, if Kagan gets through the GOP primary cycle intact as a candidate, how is he likely to do against Brannan. By many measures it probably won't go well for Kagan as the GOP candidate. One of the big reasons is that consultants like Fox, McCabe and Seravalli just don't get the impact of city funded not-for-profits. The second that Kagan switched to the GOP, he lost the support of almost all of them in his old Council District when he was stripped of his committee assignments. Several of their representatives were open and vocal about their immediate shift away from Kagan. Since Kagan's switch to the GOP, the drip-drip-drip of community based not-for-profit defections has been constant.
But of course, not to worry, not-for profits are not allowed to be "POLITICAL"... R-I-I-I-GHT !!! We're sure you can bet the house on that, along with your bets on Kagan --- in fact, make it a parlay. You could be both rich and famous like Ted Ghorra with smart bets like that.....

Mike Ragusa said, "Recent serious allegations have been made against me, which were quite shocking to our team as well, and have created an insurmountable barrier to continuing my campaign....Unfortunately I put my trust in a volunteer who took advantage and tried to sabotage my campaign....” According to a report in the Brooklyn Paper, "....According to Ragusa, he found out about the accusations on April 14 and believes the incident was a set up designed to damage his campaign. He said one of his volunteers turned in a page of forged signatures that were later turned into the Board of Elections...." And the Brooklyn Paper reporter quotd Ragusa as follows: "... Upon looking into it, we’ve narrowed down who got these signatures and it was a person sent from another Republican campaign.... When I picked it up from him, the signatures were there. They forged everything but I wasn’t responsible for checking the signatures. That’s what I pay people for....”

Other reporting also indicated that there were forged signatures witnessed by a member of the Mike Ragusa team named Dino Diakoumakos that might have been gathered by somebody named "Maguire" --- and that somebody named "Maguire" is also likely to have been the "mystery man" that came over to the Ragusa campaign from another campaign.
