It will have all of Bay Ridge, but almost none of Dyker Heights --- and did I mention none of Dyker Heights --- That's right, none of Dyker Heights to go along with none of Bath Beach or Gravesend.....
Even a "Red Tsunami" probably won't be enough to float Nicole's boat in 2022

TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN: The lines published in the NY Post & SI Advance show that Nicole Malliotakis might have as good a chance against Chuck Schumer in a run for his seat in the U.S. Senate >>> and there was lots of chatter about that longshot at the NYS CPAC confab just a few days ago. And, don't forget, Nicole and her folks had warned the Schumer and Democrats that she might make that move if the NYS Dems in Albany "gerrymandered" the Staten Island congressional seat >>> like it appears they have done.....

You amuse me Gale. Why do you assume Schumer will be the nominee. AOC has more pizzaz than Chuck. Shelly Silver and George Gobbel had more pizzaz than Chuck.
But I do agree the new lines are challenging for our friend Nicole. I was down by Flatbush avenue last week and I didn't see many Republicans. State Street was never really Trump territory.

Politicians are politicizing something political. As the Times says its blatantly political. Its finally been exposed that all politicians care about is politics.
Why doesn't anybody see what's not in the combination Brooklyn-Staten Island district?
Why all of the intricate keycut carving to keep unpopulated watery areas of the Gowanas Basin inside Jerrold Nadler's district? Why would any very well connected congressman want to keep all that mess in his district?
There's a lot of bodies there for sure, but I'm guessing it's a buried treasure of federal dollars, and other special waterfront financial potential at and all around the bulkheads of Red Hook and up the Gowanas Canal. Some very important people want to keep it with Nadler; what's been paid for needs to stay bought.

For decades Nadler has championed a tunnel from the Brooklyn waterfront. A few more decades and Nadler will do it.
As for Nicole she'll just be another pretty face.

According to the Staten Island Advance --- "[N]either Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn) nor her predecesor, former Rep. Max Rose, are concerned whether former Mayor Bill de Blasio enters the local congressional race in what’s set to look like a much different district in the upcoming election...."
It seems that yesterday both Rose and Malliotakis, "... fed into online conjecture and rumors about de Blasio throwing his hat in the ring...." And all of the "conjectures and rumors" are because the 11th Congressional District, covering all of Staten Island and part of Brooklyn appears to be all set to shift into more liberal Sunset Park and Park Slope, the neighborhoods that the former Mayor de Blasio feels comfortable calling "home".....
Several shoes need to drop before any "conjectures and rumors" about former Mayor Duh-blah-blah-blah's run for the congressional seat in any proposed reconfigured Staten Island-Brooklyn district have any substance to them --- like, for example, actual implementation of the proposed new lines by passage of NYS legislation laying out the new lines; and Bill de Blasio's cranking up a campaign operation across a congressional district that includes the new areas of Boerun Hill, Gowanas, Park Slope, and Sunset Park along with the older district's portion of Bay Ridge, and all of Staten Island.
New district with new people. Thats overlooked here. Diblasio resides in the 11 CD. along with John Gangemi and Boss Tweed.
With a district again reuniting Bay Ridge with South Brooklyn & Downtown, it looks like the Brownstone Republicans should reactivate their Bay Ridge operation.
It would be a good opportunity to reorient the outmoded and discredited points of view of the Bay Ridge contingent of the Brooklyn GOP away from the obvious divisiveness and even racism of the likes of Liam McCabe, Katherine Khatari, and Brian Fox now being pushed by their sham organizations, the Verrazzano Republican Club and the South Brooklyn Coalition to Save Small Businesses.
If nothing else, the Brooklyn GOP needs somebody that really knows where South Brooklyn is, and what a representative cross-section of Brooklyn Republicans think about diversity and inclusion, as opposed to going around hating on everybody that doesn't look or sound like them.

IF you want to really get picky about who's buried where, then you overlooked that de Blasio's new 11th Cong. Dist. also has that "Wizard of Oz" guy, Frank Morgan, buried in it.
A little political history for the new congressional district, the actress who was on stage when Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theater, Laura Keene, is buried there too. Right after Booth shot the president, Keene quickly went to the presidential box and hugged the dying Lincoln, getting his blood on her costume, which is preserved in Washington , D.C., at the Kenneth E. Behring Center of the Smithsonian.
