Is Marty Golden kicking off his 2020 campaign to get back the State Senate seat he lost to Andrew Gounardes by a very aggressive defense of his "PROUD BOY" staffer, Ian Walsh Reilly

Reilly's lawyer doubles down on his client Ian Walsh Reilly's attempted legal attack on State Senator Gounardes by saying:  "Andrew Gounardes used this [campaign talk about Reilly's being a "member" of the  "Proud Boys"] to his benefit in the last several weeks of [Gounardes'] successful campaign.... It helped Gounardes raise a lot of money in the last couple weeks of his campaign to unseat Marty Golden.... Who knows if it might have made the difference....”

Is a lawyer's repeating the purported slander and libel in a newspaper interview the best tactic in advancing his client's lawsuit for "slander and libel" ?

OR

Is it an ersatz kickoff to Golden's 2020 Campaign to try to get back Marty's "Jewel in the Crown" ???

Do Marty Golden, Jerry Kassar and the New York Republicans and Conservatives trying to regain some semblance of control in the New York State Senate really believe that this is the best way to go  ---  a full-throated and aggressive defense of Marty Golden's staffer Ian Walsh Reilly's controversial association with the Alt-Right bunch of street thugs, the "Proud Boys" >>> which led to a street riot outside of Ian Walsh Reilly's club, and multiple criminal charges and convictions against a pair of his invited guests and self-styled bodyguards ?????

See it all in black and white in Bernadette DeVito's article in the most current version of "Kings County Politics," the online political magazine (See "Gounardes Faces Defamation Lawsuit, Golden Waits In The Wings" 10-31-19, Kings County Politics/Lawsuit [https://www.kingscountypolitics.com/gounardes-faces-defamation-lawsuit-golden-waits-in-the-wings/]).

As Wile E. Coyote always said... "SUPER GENIUS!"

Why aren't we talking about how John Q and Mike Long destroyed Catholic education in Bayridge? Smokey back room deals are not good. John Q will not survive the merger. He will be exposed. People in the supermarkets aren't happy I will tell you that

With the merge will everybody have to drop their buffs and will Jeff Probst be there?

If we're talking about Catholic schools forget Jeff Probst, we need Chris Hansen to be there.

Not sure why everyone on this blog embraces left wing causes, or is this a blog for ex republicans?

Andy is late to punch back. All I see is Marty getting good press & Andy in hiding.

FAKE NEWS! Show us some of Marty Golden's good press lately, if you can.

State Senator Gounardes doesn't need to 'punch back', because 'rope a dope' is the perfect strategy to use against Golden's and Ghorra's Brooklyn GOP.

It just shows you how bad things are that the Reilly-Houdek lawsuit is the best Marty and Kassar can do for a 'Hail Mary' pass against the new State Senator "G".

Wow Carlo from Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is going after Quaglione on Twitters and Face Books about the school merger. Something shady going on I hear

Hey 12:05, since when is criticizing financial mismanagement/child molestation a left wing cause?

In three years lets see whose laughing.

In three years, I wouldn't think there'd be anything to laugh about anymore.

COMMENT: THE "AN EXISTENTIAL MOMENT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN READILY BE DRAMATIZED" EDITION

CASE IN POINT: THE MOVIE "CAMERA STORE" STARRING JOHN LARROQUETTE AND JOHN RHYS-DAVIES (AND FEATURING MANY OTHERS, SOME RECOGNIZABLE, BUT MOST NOT) --- IT'S WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY SCOTT MARSHALL SMITH --- IT'S 1994, FILM IS GIVING WAY TO DIGITAL, IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE IN THE NANUET MALL, THE "CAMERA STORE" (YES, A BIT OF WORD PLAY THERE) IS FAILING, BUT BEING USED AS A TAX DODGE, AND THE GOOD OLD DAYS ARE NEVER COMING BACK

Samuel Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus and even David Mamet have been recognized as masters of more or less existential content in a more or less dramatic format, but do they actually ever effectively present any existential moment or event dramatically?

Abstract absurdity and/or some overly gritty naturalism, yes --- but existentialism, no.

It is no wonder that Larroquette, Rhys-Davies, the rest of the cast and the writer-director with the three last names try so mightily yet fail.

Substitute "Brooklyn GOP" for "Camera Store" and tinker with the shooting script a bit and you could probably tell the exact same story --- and it would look and sound a lot like what's been on this blog for a very long time. Why to me, it seems like an eternity already.

P.S.: THE "ONE MORE THING" EDITION

THE TIME HAS COME FOR "STRING THEORY DRAMA" --- COMING SOON I'LL EXPLAIN IT ALL TO EVERYBODY --- I'LL DO IT IN A GRAPHIC NOVEL FORMAT WITH A SCREENPLAY TO FOLLOW

Lawsuits come and go.

But I'll never forget where I was the day I heard Beto was dropping out

Can somebody explain the strategy behind this frivolous lawsuit? This Reilly thinks Andrew the Greek has $5 million?

Anonymous said...

It looks like Andy is finished.

Andrew has a lot more than five million, more than Ian, Marty, and Jerry combined and then some. But defamation lawsuits are hard to win especially when public figures are involved. This is Ian’s pound of flesh he’s going to make Andrew and the dummies from Fight Back and Radio Free Bay Ridge have to spend a few hundred thousand defending the lawsuits. Maybe next time they won’t play so fast and loose with the facts.

Ian should stand his ground and not betray the Proud Boys just to make a political stunt. I assume Ian got permission from McInnes to do this otherwise I would say he is a traitor

On July 1, 1934 Ernst Julius Gunther Rohm, head of the Nazi SA, was executed in his cell by two leaders of the Nazi SS, under the personal authorization of Adolf Hitler.

Although his recent direct association with the Alt-Right "Proud Boys" leadership is quite obvious, his formal affiliation with that group is not exactly clear. If the litigation discussed by others on this blog is properly pursued by all sides, there should be much more clarity about how and why Ian Walsh Reilly got the Republican Party, Marty Golden and the Alt-Right "Proud Boys" tied up in the same knot, possibly leading to Marty Golden's defeat last year by Andrew Gounardes.

Some might say that in many ways Ian is a latter day Ernst Rohm type swashbuckler. Others would argue just "asshole" is much easier to say, and maybe more easily understood.

Ian to supporters: "I have great news: you are all going to the Bay Ridge Manor!"

The storm cadets cheer.

Ian continues: "But some of you will have to bus tables. And others must eat the food."

I have a hunch that Ian's relationship with that far-right German political party is at least as reputation-injuring as his relationship with the Proud fellas.
