About those congressional and legislative boundaries that were passed into law not very long ago.....

Yesterday, NYS Supreme Court Justice Patrick F. McAllister, who is an Upstate NY Republican,  ruled that the Democrat-produced electoral maps for New York State were not acceptable

Justice McAllister said that the maps, passed by the Democrat-controlled NYS Legislature, and signed into law by the Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul, were not constitutional under the NYS Constitution, and needed to be redrawn in a fair and bi-partisan process

Governor Hochul and NYS Attorney General Letitia James immediately issued statements that they would appeal the McAllister decision

Since the appeal will be heard by state court, or courts, more likely to be predisposed toward the Democrats' partisan interests, the new districts  ---  that had been changed following the latest census  ---  presumably will be reinstated in due course [[[ with a not impossible final appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court ]]].....

Justice McAllister said that the Democrats in Albany had used tactics they had previously denounced Republicans for using.  He called the Democrats' new redistricting maps, drawn to win political advantage, and  known as gerrymandering, a 'scourge' on our democracy.

The trial court judge, a Republican from a rural upstate county, wrote in his opinion that  ---  "The court finds by clear evidence and beyond a reasonable doubt that the congressional map was unconstitutionally drawn with political bias....  Gerrymandering discrimination hurts everyone because it tends to silence minority voices....  When we choose to ignore the benefits of compromise we not only hurt others, we hurt ourselves as well...."

His decision also ordered the state to come up with new "bipartisanly supported maps" by April 11. If they failed, Justice McAllister said he would appoint an "independent special master" to redraw them after that.

All of this raised the likelihood that candidates already campaigning around NY State would be left in limbo for weeks, and that the primaries heretofor scheduled for June could be delayed.

However, most media and legal analysts expect that New York State and the NYS Democrats would immediately appeal Justice McAllister's ruling, and they would most likely find a much more sympathetic ear in the Democrat-controlled appellate courts. NYS Governor Kathy Hochul, and Letitia James, NY State Attorney General, each said that they would appeal the McAllister ruling.

These judges are no different than the district leaders that put them on the bench.

District Leaders per se haven't put judges on the bench for years. [BTW this only means something wrt Democrats, the Republicans have hardly mattered for decades] Some DLs still have some influence, but it is nothing compared to "County". Even that good old Floridian Jeff Feldman has more influence than the average current Democrat District Leader.

RESPONSE: THE "TRYING THE IMPOSSIBLE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:55 PM"

IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE FUN OF BRIAN FOX --- BECAUSE WHAT HE DOES IS SO MORONICALLY FUNNY IN THE FIRST PLACE

JUST YESTERDAY HE POSTED THIS:

"Brian Fox for City Council... [March 31, 2022, 4:37 PM]... It’s just a shame and unfortunately ongoing issue within our community that business have to deal with situations like this. Since the start of the New Year, crime has been on the rise while quality of life has been on a decline. Just yesterday the Brooklyn Harvest Market on 3rd Avenue was robbed. Thankfully the employees of the business took action and got all there merchandise back. When is enough-enough, my residence is only two blocks away from the Market. If that’s not enough, Justin’s District office is across the street from Market. We have not heard anything from Justin at all, he as been quiet on issues surrounding crime because he has failed either to report it or take action against it. Instead of Defunding the police we should implement broken windows policing to ensure safety and to bring awareness to the community about public safety...."

Can Brian Fox be serious with this crap ???

It's the exact same rap that he tried throughout his 2021 campaign for City Council --- which caused him to lose in a race, which now looks like he should have won.

By now, everybody should know that Justin Brannan never voted to defund the police --- and he never said that he wanted to defund the police..... Something that Brian Fox keeps saying even though he has been called out for the lie, over and over again --- most recently in a report on WNYC.

Brian Fox is terrified because two kids tried to steal a bag of potato chips inside a supermarket 2 blocks from his house ?!?! THIS is who we want running for political office ?

After reading the comments I'm taking a month off.

Fox said he doesn't care if what he says is a lie, as long as it works. Doesn't he know that it didn't work; and that he lost to Brannan by more votes in Bay Ridge and lower Dyker than Quaglione did in 2017. Even now, I'll bet Fox doesn't know where and with whom he did better than Quags, and that those areas and voters aren't in Brannan's district any more.

Would we really be OK electing someone who doesn’t know when to use there, their, and they’re? This is basic stuff.

Quaglione is in his basement.

8:35 raises a good point. Yes we would be ok electing a leader who fights crime and opposes defunding the police.

but 8;35 sits at his computer all day dreaming of being something but is just a jerkoff.

Of course, you can't mean Brian Fox when you say '...a leader who fights crime...'.

Fox thinks that talking is the same as doing, and that lying is just like any other kind of talking.

Has anyone checked in on Brian Fox? He sounded pretty shaken up after that kid tried to steal a few eggs from the supermarket 3 blocks away from his residence

RESPONSE: THE "SKY IS FALLING" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:16 PM"

WE SEE THAT FOX POSTED SOMETHING ABOUT THAT TOO --- WOW !!! WHAT A GUY ???

SINCE THIS INCIDENT AND BRIAN FOX'S REACTION TO IT WAS SO MOMENTOUS >>> WE THINK THAT WE HAVE A DUTY TO PUBLISH EXACTLY WHAT FOX HAD TO SAY ABOUT IT.....

So, here it is:

"Brian Fox for City Council... [April 2, 2022 @ 9:00 PM]... Last night I received a message on twitter from a member of the community that has many concerns about two large trees that have branches over lapping with the cable lines as well as 3-5 foot limbs falling on her and her neighbors residence. Additionally, several larger limbs fell onto the side walk including one that hit a car, breaking the side view mirror causing further property damage. Today I went by to take a look on how we can solve and approach this major issue. After talking with a few of her neighbors and meeting with the woman who messaged the information about this issue, they informed me they Justin Brannan was notified multiple times and still nothing has been done. Which then prompted me to call 311 to make a complaint and address the issue with the 311 operator. Issues like these are fairly simple, considering Justin's slogan is “love all serve all” , he's fallen drastically short once again...."

Brian Fox says that this is a "major issue"..... And clearly, he wants to make a bigger issue out of it. However, there are just so many unanswered questions in Fox's telling of this story and his framing of this "major issue" --- there is just so much missing detail and background. Hopefully, Brian will revisit this story very soon to fill in all the missing info.

We all need to watch and see how Brian Fox follows up on this.

RESPONSE: THE "THOSE PIX DON'T TELL A STORY THAT BACKS UP BRIAN'S STATEMENT" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 1:17 PM"

AS WE POINTED OUT IN OUR COMMENT ABOVE ABOUT BRIAN FOX'S LATEST ALARMIST RANT ABOUT THE "MAJOR ISSUE" OF FALLING TWIGS AND BRANCHES --- HIS NINE PICTURE PHOTO ARRAY THAT ACCOMPANIED HIS META-FB POST HAS SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS OF PHOTOGRAPHIC CONSISTANCY WRT TIME, PLACE AND SUBJECT MATTER

Thus far, Fox hasn't addressed our demands that he follow-up on his latest drive-by posting against Justin Brannan concerning fallen branches in some undisclosed location(s) in Bay Ridge.....

As usual, whenever Brian Fox does one of these kinds of postings, he says he feels pain in his "lower back" --- it's certainly not from any heavy lifting to get any of the facts about any incident(s) that he might be "reporting" on --- it's from trying to get something that he thought was a good idea at the time back out of his big fat ass.....

This time it included some large looking tree branches that not only might have fallen from trees, but could appear and disappear in photos of what Fox says is the same location, apparently move around on the ground during the time pictures were being taken, and be from different trees in different locations.

Maybe the big pain in Brian's "lower back" right now isn't from any tree branchses >>> but it's from this blog.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "WHO IS GIVING LA BELLA PETITONING ADVICE ???" EDITION

BASED ON A VERY RECENT POSTING BY THE CANDIDATE HIMSELF --- SOMEBODY IS GIVING VITO LA BELLA SOME VERY BAD ADVICE ON HOW TO COLLECT PETITIONS TO GET ON THE BALLOT FOR A GOP PRIMARY

If what he is doing is reflected in his very recent Meta-FB posting on his "Vito LaBella For New York" social media posting --- "... Thank you to everybody who showed up yesterday at LaBella MarketPlace 7907 13th Ave. Kim is there now, please go say hello and sign our petition to get on the ballot. Only registered Republicans who live in the District and who have not signed another petition. [w/ imogi and pictures]" >>> then he'll need an army of gatherers to get him the rquired signatures.

(BTW, if Vito does submit what look like enough signatures, and they were to be challenged in court, his very recent Meta-FB posting would be called >>> "EVIDENCE")

NOTICE: THE "MAYBE SOMEBODY CROSSED A LINE THAT THEY SHOULDN'T" EDITION

TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN

IF A LOCAL CATHOLIC PASTOR HAS SUDDENLY DECIDED TO WITHDRAWN FROM THE LOCAL PRIESTLY SCENE IN ANY WAY, JUMPING TO ANY CONCLUSIONS AS TO THE REASON WHY --- OR IMPLYING THAT ANY LOCAL POLS MIGHT HAVE HAD A HAND IN IT --- IS VERY INAPPROPRIATE --- WITHOUT SOME VERY HARD VERIFIABLE FACTS TO BACK IT ALL UP.....

As far as we here at this ("shit") blog are concerned, any local pastor's future vocational plans, and his possible recent contretemps with any local pols over their recent attendance or non-attendance at a recent local ethnic parade are, at best, stochastic events >>> whose possible relation is uncharted, unanalyzed, and unestablished.

Being as provocative and suggestive as the prospective commenter on this ("shit") blog was hoping to be --- we found the proposed comment(s) to have been inappropriate to post at this time.

Obviously, we'll all need to ask John Quaglione, because he is "in the know" about all things Catholic in Brooklyn, and he also has "...POWER..." in the Brooklyn GOP, so maybe HE had a hand in some of this or all of it.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "KID KARIM LOCKS UP ANOTHER POWERHOUSE ENDORSEMENT" EDITION

EVEN WITH THE NEW LINES OF THE STATE SENATE DISTRICT IN LEGAL LIMBO, KARIM ELASMMAK IS GOING AFTER ETHNIC GROUPS THAT MAKE SOME SENSE WRT THE NEW LINES FOR THE ANDREW GOUNARDES STATE SENATE DISTRICT

KARIM POSTS HIS ENDORSEMENT BY THE ALLIANCE OF YEMENI AMERICAN BUSINESSES (AYAB)

"Karim4NY... [April 3, 2022, @1:15 PM]... Great honor to be endorsed by AYAB! As a proud business owner I know the importance of leadership that understands the entrepreneurial mindset. When we invest in our businesses, we invest in our economy, our industry, and ultimately our people. I look forward to working with groups like AYAB to support local businesses. #nyc #business #brooklyn #karim4ny...."

This just raises so many questions... and there are so few answers from Karim.....

FURTHER UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "KID KARIM TRIED BUT FAILED TO TRY THE 'BLEACHBIT' ON HIS OWN PRIOR POST" EDITION

ON MARCH 31ST, WE ON THIS INDEPENDENT GOP BLOG FOR BROOKLYN AND STATEN ISLAND POSTED THIS FEATURE ITEM >>> "ON THE RECORD... KARIM ELSAMMAK IDENTIFIES WITH A VERY PUBLIC CRIMINAL ACT"

THAT POSTING CALLED OUT THE VERY YOUTHFUL REPUBLICAN-CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE FOR STATE SENATE FOR USING IMAGERY THAT IRRESPONSIBLY SUGGESTED THAT "VOTERS" VIOLENTLY TAKE THE LAW INTO THEIR OWN HANDS IN ORDER TO STRIKE DOWN "BAIL REFORM"

KARIM ELSAMMAK'S IMAGERY INCLUDED "ARTWORK" IN THE FORM OF AN ALTERED PHOTOGRAPH OF WILL SMITH STRIKING CHRIS ROCK AT THIS YEAR'S ACADEMY AWARDS SHOW.....

SINCE WE CALLED HIM OUT FOR THAT --- KARIM ELSAMMAK HAS TRIED TO EXPUNGE THE EMBARRASSING & OFFENDING PIECE FROM THE PUBLIC RECORD >>> VERY MUCH LIKE WHAT HILLARY CLINTON HAD TRIED ON HER PRIVATE SERVER AND OTHER COMPUTER EQUIPMENT NOT SO VERY LONG AGO

Even though Karim Elsammak succeeded in removing the material from his own "karim4NY" sites, where it had originally appeared; and he temporarily removed his "artwork" using the Will Smith and Chris Rock high impact action photo from our coverage of his offensive and ill-considered posting >>> his attempt to scrub the record ultimately failed.

Our feature piece on March 31st, "On the record --- Republican-Conservative endorsed candidate Karim Elsammak identifies with a very public criminal act," has been fully restored, with the original artwork, as orininally posted by Master Elsammak.

Nobody, least of all Brannan, is defunding the NYPD in 2022 or 2023.

In both this year's and next years budgets the NYPD will get a total of well over ten billion bucks-dollars. That's more than 10% of what the city spends on everything; and it's by far more than anybody else spends on local policing.

first brannen cut police by 30% and now puts back 10%

Anonymous said...

1236, that's fake news. It never happened.

Neither Brannan nor anybody else cut NYPD funding by 30% any time in history, certainly not any time in recent memory.

The NYPD declined by about $317 million from almost $10.5 billion to about $10.1 billion between fiscal years 2020 and 2021 due to revenue falloffs attributed to the COVID response in 2019 and 2020. The NYPD operating budget decreased by about $345 million, or 6.6 percent, from about $5.2 billion in fiscal year 2020 to about $4.9 billion in fiscal year 2021.

After the $317 million spending decrease from fiscal year 2020 to fiscal year 2021, the NYPD budget grew, attributable mostly to $401 million increase in central costs, and a $63 million increase in NYPD operational spending. The NYPD's adopted budget for fiscal year 2022 sets NYPD spending, including agency and central expenditures, at $10.4 billion, a spending increase of $465 million (4.7 percent) against fiscal year 2021.

There was nothing close to any 30% decline in 2021 and ther was almost a 5% increase for 2022.

Anonymous said...

Meanwhile, there's still nothing from Brian Fox about any of this alleged recent NYPD 'defunding' vote by Brannan.

Either Brian Fox has lost interest, lost the internet because he is a lying Republican, or is sleeping-in late today.
