Clearly, Capano is ready to reboot his campaign for the City Council which didn't work out so well in 2017 --- he sees the two Republicans that bettered his totals in the GOP primary of 2017 as being badly wounded birds --- and easy prey in any 2021 GOP primary that might be a prelude --- to Capano's ultimate target Justin Brannan
Meanwhile, Quaglione and one or two of his supporters keep trying to pretend that he has the GOP nod sewed up for any office that he might choose to run for --- sort of like a lifetime achievement award from the Golden faction of the Brooklyn GOP for doing God-knows-what

BOB CAPANO IS A REPUBLICAN, WHO IS NOT STRONGLY COMMITTED TO A RUN IN 2021, YET --- HE SEES ANY RACE INVOLVING QUAGLIONE AND/OR MC CABE AS A TARGET OF OPPORTUNITY FOR HIM THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO CONSIDER ENTERING --- OF COURSE, 2020 WOULD PRESENT SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES AND OPENINGS FOR THE THREE CABALLEROS FROM THE 2017 GOP PRIMARY, AND ANY RACE THAT BOB MIGHT ENTER IN 2020 WOULD PRESENT SYNERGIES WITH BOB'S ONGOING SUPPORT AND EFFORTS FOR NICOLE
Right now, it looks like Bob is focusing on Brannan and 2021, because of Bob's most recent column. However, a similar column whose tenor might involve taking careful aim at Andrew Gounardes would change any analysis as to where Bob's interests, goals and objectives might truly lie (don't be so fast with any "sic" notations, should you want to quote me in any "print" medium).
As for Justin's being lucky if Bob were to enter a 2021 race against him, Brannan's view is that he'd rather have the entire trio of Quaglione, McCabe and Capano in any 2021 race, rather than any one of them. What is really most lucky for Justin is that there are no new Republican faces showing up, whoever such (a) joker(s) might be, he.she/they would almost certainly be (a) wild card(s) and no pro likes playing in a game with wild cards.
Does it really matter?
Without Uncle Marty in power, demographics and political trendlines make it exceptionally difficult for any Republican to win in 2021.
Capano's 2017 race was what software companies call "vaporware" -- big talk about a product that never exists and isn't produced. With the impact of demographics, why expect anything different?
Uncle Cats didn't show up with big money for him in 2009 or 2017. 2021 will be the same.
Justin barely won in 2017 when he had a caring nice guy image. Even constant candidate Bob might have a chance to beat him. Back in 2017 Justin adoring De Blasio was still a secret now it’s out in the open. But people also remember Bob changed parties and tried to play spoiler. No one likes a sore loser and Bob wouldn’t have a chance in the Republican primary.
As a registered Conservative, I believe 2020 is our last hope. If we can't beat Max Rose or Andy G then we are toast. Forget about Brannan in 2021
All of a sudden there are smelly homeless people sleeping in the subways again. The quality of life has dropped so fast in Bay Ridge and all around the city, even Democrats are starting to look back for the good old days maybe it's enough for a candidate like Capano to win back one of the old Golden seats, either for the state senate or the city council.
It's important for somebody to ask Quaglione about whether St. Anselm's Academy received and used any of the AutoExec products through the E-rate program.
Any answer that he might give is a 'Catch 22' politically. Not knowing anything might be the best of a bunch of bad choices.
The conservative party will never back bob.
Liam will run against Andrew and loose.
Capano will run against Brannan and loose very badly.

John Q, when he's not busy posting photos of 8-year-old graffiti on 4th Avenue, is very upset that Dunkin Donuts screwed up his large latte order. And when he's not upset about his latte order, he's shutting down local Catholic schools and making shady deals and pissing off parents.

I see on their website that Capano is installing the 2020 officers and board members of the Queens Village Republican Club soon. Wow isn't there a GOP Councilman (Ulrich) there and a GOP Chairwoman? Also didn't Liam work in Queens for Ulrich in the Council and with his Public Advocate race? Yet they choose Capano...that's gravitas.

If I am a Republican in Brooklyn why do I care what Bob is doing in Queens? The guy is desperate for attention. People talk about him leaving the Republican Party to go to the Reform Party but we also forget that he moved to Staten Island and then moved back to Brooklyn to run for City Council again.
Capano has lived in bklyn the past 5 years..he has lived here in total longer than Q who went away to college for 4 years.
