Brooklyn GOP Radio hosts, Berardelli and Gallo, do a show that is so racially insensitive it might have even been worse than the original “Dov Hikind in ‘Blackface’” incident, at which they were laughing as mere buffoonery and blithely discussing as obviously benign and “not racist”

In a hate filled show sponsored by Craig Eaton’s Kings County Republican Party  —  that contained personal attacks on a certain Staten Island Conservative and a Republican City Councilman, along with various Staten Island Republican “electeds” and Conservative Party members generally *  —  it was the complete insensitivity to the Hikind-generated race flap that was the real low point of this and probably any other show in the entire series of Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio programs

I’m not a Democrat; I’m not black; I don’t see myself as a victim of racism; I’m generally not moved by the politics of victimhood; and I don’t want to pile on to Assemblyman Dov Hikind in any way for his choice of a Purim costume this year or his initial response to criticisms and complaints about it.  Nonetheless, what I heard last night on the Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio program certainly was, if not racist at its core, so racially insensitive that it made me cringe at least a half a dozen times. Both the words used and at least once the audible laughter about he whole circumstance and situation of Assemblyman Hikind’s embarrassing appearance and completely inappropriate response indicated that both Berardelli and Gallo are completely lacking in insight as to their own impulses on the critical psycho-social issues raised by the whole “Dov Hikind in ‘Blackface’” brouhaha.

It is absolutely insane that in 2013 the Brooklyn GOP lets two hosts like these continue to be the public face of the Kings County Republican Party on this officially-sponsored outlet of the party and its current chairman. If nothing else, it shows at least one reason why the Brooklyn Republicans are only able to garner the support of about 3-5% of the African-American and Island-Black electorate in Brooklyn.

Tried to listen to this crap for about twenty minutes and didn't hear any of this stuff about Hikind and black face, but this REpublican show is just crap about electing somebody chairman of the young Republicans. Who can listen to this.

This is what the Gallo-Berardelli team entitled their very offensive show:

“Getting All Red - And Black - In The Face!” Brooklyn GOP Radio

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/brooklyngopradio/2013/02/28/this-week-getting-all-red--and-black--in-the-face

Here’s how the Gallo-Berardelli team generally described their show:

“Lots of comings and goings in the news on the local and national levels. Join Gene & Russell as they recap it all this week - including the local happenings involving Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who's been getting the "Republican" treatment from his fellow Dems, and news out of SI that Borough President, "Conservative" Jim Molinaro endorsed liberal Dem Christine Quinn for Mayor of NYC., eroding "The Rock" that is a big part of the City Republican base. Russ and Gene also take up the standard for the soon-to-be former SI GOP Chair Bob Scamardella, who abruptly resigned amidst intra-party strife. This is one show the "hacks" and the "gadflies" won't wanna miss!”

Unfortunately, these guys buried the leads behind almost twenty-five (25) minutes of completely wasted time talking about stuff like the NYS YRs’ upcoming election for chairman and this-that-and-the other about C-PAC.

anybody catch celeste katz blog where she wrote about BOE election commissioner move by Oddo. Queens GOP chair Ragusa was quoted as saying he was dissappointed with what Oddo did to him and Eaton and SI chair. So, it is clear this was a blow to Eaton by Golden, despite what I have heard is Eaton telling his executive committee he was ok with it and Simon SHomoun, to protect himself the embarassment- but the real players and all other political players in NYS thanks to celeste katz story know exactly what happened!

It's interesting that you bring out this apparently unrelated item in a comment to a post about the “Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio” program of 2/27/13, since not a word about the removal of Brooklyn’s BOE Commissioner Nancy Mattola-Schacher and her replacement by Simon Shamoun was spoken by either Gallo, Berardelli or their guests on the 2/27 show. It's interesting because that item >>> SHOULD HAVE BEEN TALKED-ABOUT <<< on the “Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio” program of 2/27/13,

What makes Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio’s omission of the Brooklyn BOE Commissioner replacement story so glaring and interesting is that Berardelli and Gallo became so impassioned talking about many of the surrounding circumstances of SI GOP Chairman Bob Scamardella’s being “pushed-out” by a certain faction of SI “electeds,” most notably “Jimmy Oddo.” Yet the very same Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio announcing duo were struck dumb with no voice between them when it came to the issue of the completely parallel situation having arisen in the Brooklyn GOP with Nancy Mattola-Schacher’s replacement by Simon Shamoun as Brooklyn BOE Commissioner and its impact on Chairman Eaton's ability to function as Brooklyn GOP Leader.

(Note: some of this blog’s prior posts have cited multiple sources and connected the dots showing how Chairman Craig Eaton’s situation vis a vis State Senator Golden over the Brooklyn BOE Commissioner’s replacement is the exact parallel to Chairman Bob Scamardella’s situation vis a vis Councilman James Oddo over the SI BOE Commissioner’s dismissal. A situation that Chairman Scamardella indicated made it impossible for him to continue as a GOP County Chairman.)
