Inna Vernikov, a conservative Republican who represents a South Brooklyn district, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm after bringing a gun to a pro-Palestine rally.... Inna Vernikov, who is licensed to carry a gun, surrendered her gun and her permit, police officials said.... A Republican councilwoman from Brooklyn was arrested on Friday and charged with criminal possession of a firearm after images posted on social media showed her carrying a gun in her waistband at a pro-Palestinian rally at Brooklyn College the previous day.... The councilwoman, Inna Vernikov, who represents southern Brooklyn neighborhoods including Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay, turned herself in at the 70th Precinct with her lawyer shortly before 3 a.m., according to a police spokeswoman.... Ms. Vernikov, 39, who has a license to carry a gun, surrendered her weapon — a Smith & Wesson 9-millimeter pistol — and her permit, police officials said. Even though, Vernikov might have had a registered firearm and a "carry permit" --- openly carrying a firearm in NYC is prohibited; and a NYS law passed last year also prohibits people from carrying guns in “sensitive locations” --- a category that includes protests and rallies, and schools.

There is no legal standard for "sensitive locations";
nor is there any recognized authority who could make pronouncements beforehand that a particular rally, demonstration, concert or other venue will become a “sensitive location”..
therefore this law is ripe for a Constitutional Challenge..
I would not be surprised to see Ms Vernikov take this case all the way to the US Supreme Court.

All alone, Eaton is pounding the so-called Marty Golden faction from yers ago into submission.
The weakness of the Brooklyn GOP under Golden, Ghorra, and Barsamian has been shown to the world by two things in just a week:
1) the fact that the NYS Republican lawyer Chompolus had to be called in to try to pry the pathetic Brooklyn crowd out of the box that Eaton had put them into; and
2) the City Council Campaigns for Kagan, LaBella, and Vernikov have ground to a complete standstill.
618, except for her pistol packin' mama moments at the rally on the BC campus, the only real campaign until several days ago was for Inna Vernikov. The other two have been doing a charade all along.
Now, wait just a minute, there can be no Brooklyn GOP County Chairman prior to the October 30th, 2023 hearing in Brooklyn Supreme Court at the earliest; and there are lot of procedural errors that the Brooklyn GOP under Golden and Ghorra will have to explain to Justice Sweeney at that hearing in order to even have any County organization or chairman.
Richie Barsamian doesn't get to tell any more Brooklyn GOP women to "Shut up!" until sometime after that, if ever. There's even a pretty good chance that Dimitry Kugel will become Chairman and get to tell Richard Barsamian to shut up instead.
What everybody needs to see right now is that everything is back to where it was when Eaton stepped down as Chairman in 2015, when another Democrat Judge made Ted Ghorra Brooklyn GOP Chairman instead of Arnaldo Ferrara, who had been elected at the Brooklyn GOP County Convention in 2015.
No, you wait just a minute, 1225, right now there are two Brooklyn Republican County Leaders, Kugel and Barsamian, two Brooklyn Republican Party organizations, and nobody is clearly in charge. That's why the council campaigns are all messed up.
