"NO" vote on 2024 NY CITY Budget --- "NO" to funding NYPD's 2024 "capital" and "operating" budgets --- Kagan and his team say "no contradictions" & "no problems" saying Kagan "obtained" police $$$ for public safety and security measures

About Kagan's attempted coverup of his recent  "defund the police vote"  ---  according to Kagan  >>>  “What I [have announced about police capital funding] is fair game. Every council district is given funding whether you voted for the budget or against the budget....  I feel no problem whatsoever. No moral problem and no political problem.”

[[[Arkady (Ari) Kagan must have learned that kind of verbal trickery in those Soviet KGB-training schools and academies back in the USSR]]]

Thus, despite voting  against the budget, Ari Kagan and his team believe that it is 100% fine that Kagan is now claiming that he "secured the funding"  ---   since every council member is entitled to a say in  >>> "making choices"  dispensing  >>> "their own capital funding"

According to a spokesperson on Kagan's staff, "Southern Brooklyn Councilman Kagan"  >>>  has and will continue to work with local precincts at the Consy Island end of his district, and other community groups in that part of his to gauge the needs and concerns of residents.....

So what if Ari Kagan's "NO VOTE" on both the New York City Police capital and operating budgets would have defunded all of that kind of safety and security equipment throughout every corner of every precinct in the whole city going forward in 2024  ---  including those specific items Kagan's staff mentioned Kagan had "obtained" for the 47th Council District

As one local paper recently reported on the subject  >>>  "Despite his vote against the budget, [Kagan and his team] said there is nothing wrong with announcing that he secured the funding since every council member is entitled to their own capital funding."

In other words, the current 47th District Council Member Ari Kagan formally lied when he said that he had "secured funding" for police public safety and security equipment improvements in the Gravesend-Coney Island part of the 47th Council District a few short weeks after voting against the 2024 NYC budget the would actually have defunded those things. In fact, Chairman of the NYC Council Finance Committee Justin Brannan was the local Councilman that actually did secure the funding for the police, public safety and securty equipnent including those very items Kagan is trying to takeng credit for.  Kagan's only part in the process was to sign off on the relatively small disbursement of the overall police capital funding appropriated for the whole city.  Kagan's actions only effected the disbursement of those 2024 funds in a small portion of the current 47th District, where Kagan will continue as Councilman up to the end of 2023.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROUTINELY IGNORANT & THE INVINCIBLY IGNORANT" EDITION

NEWS ABOUT MIKE RAGUSA'S GIG AS A B-GUARD FOR RUDY GIULIANI BROKE A COUPLE OF DAYS BACK.....

EVEN THOUGH RAGUSA SAID HE'S BEEN OPENLY WORKING FOR GIULIANI FOR ALMOST A YEAR --- IT SEEMS THAT RAGUSA NEVER COMMUNICATED TO THE NYS DOIG ABOUT HIS ON-THE-SIDE, PART-TIME WORK AS RUDY GIULIANI'S BODY GUARD

Ragusa needs some real down time well outside of the public eye to repair his shattered reputation and political persona following his having to drop out of the 2023 City Council race because of fraud allegations --- but instead he got caught doing this stunt with Rudy Giuliani.

Let's see where all of this goes.....

Gail, Ragusa is with Giuliani and Ragusa is with Kagan.

So, does that mean Guiliani is with Kagan and Kagan is with Giuliani?

Riddle-me-that, Batman!

Republican Assemblyman Brook-Krasny needs to come clean about everything that he had on Ari (Arkady) Kagan concerning Kagan's cloudy years as a student and soldier in the service of the former Soviet Union.

During past Democrat primary campaigns in 2006, 2013, and 2021, Kagan and Brook-Krassny were mixed up in making charges and countercharges about Kagan's having been a loyal communist and having received KGB training as a student, and then serving as an information officer/journalist/propagandist in the commisariat branch of the Soviet Army.

In the past, the once Democrat and now Republican Councilman Kagan had given inconsistent explanations and naked denials to the very well documented charges that the once Democrat and now Republican Assemblyman Brook-Krassny campaigns had made against him. It is long past the time that Republican Brook-Krassny needs to tell Republican voters everything that he knows about Republican candidate Ari (Arkady) Kagan's past as an operative in/of/for the Soviet security services and their successors in the FSU and abroad; and why the Brook-Krassny campaigns in 2006, 2013, and 2021 made repeated claims and charges about that, but now Brook-Krassny is completely silent on the subject of Kagan's Soviet training and service.

On Facebook, Rosie Rizzo says that she is going to be at this year's McKinley Park September 11th Candlelight Vigil, and she is inviting others to join her at the annual McKinley Park memorial.

Will Kathy Khatari be there, as well, along with the early core of her 2023 City Council write-in campaigners.

155. was your use of the word "core" intentional?

If it were really intentional, then it is extremely insightful, to boot.

What we have heard is that the Rizzo-Khatari intitiative is building a motivated core of real community based, non-aligned volunteers.

By that measure, Khatari's write-in campaign already is in a happier, more confident place to be than either Kagan's band of grifters, some dispirited Ghorra wondering-wanderers, and a few up for grabs Brooklyn GOP chumps, usually exclaiming and/or asking "Whuh hop-pentt..." on most days; or Brannan's largely locked in, left-leaning, life-long unthinking Democrats.

Why are we hosting a rival 9-11 memorial event? This is the one time of year there should be no parties and we should all come together. Fran and Jerry Kassar just can't help themselves

Jim, do you think "Fester", "Justice Brennan" and "Jerry" are the old "The Jig is Up Atlas" crew in new pseuds?

RESPONSE: THE "THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW" EDITION

TO: "GATEMOUTH SAID... AT 9:29 AM"

MAYBE SOMETHING BY SOMEBODY HERE AND THERE... --- BUT NOTHING AS AN ORGANIZED AND COMPACT "CREW" --- THE CURRENT TEAM OF MISCREANTS TRYING TO INTRUDE ON THIS BLOG LATELY ARE NOT AS CREATIVE OR TOGETHER AS "THE JIG IS UP ATLAS" CROWD --- OR EVEN SOME OF THEIR OPPONENTS AND TARGETS AT THE TIME AT "ATLAS SHRUGGED IN BROOKLYN"

In 2011, you posted this on one of "your"" blogs: "Howard Graubard... May 4, 2011... The Jig Is Up Atlas!... [with video link to "Atlas Shrugged Pt. 2 EXCLUSIVE TRAILER"/ written and directed by Andy Cobb, ©2010 The Second City Inc./Andy Cobb (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seKhVJDOzlQ)]. We believe that the folks that produced that sendup video are as likely to be "Fester", "Justice Brennan" and "Jerry" as anybody in the old "The Jig is Up Atlas" crew or any of the "Atlas Shrugged in Brooklyn" folks might be.

BTW, are you sure, Gatemouth, that you wanted to post the above comment on this instant thread to this particular featured post, instead of on the thread at our more recent post, "O'Hara in court today --- not on his own case for damages for the wrongful prosecution and conviction about twenty years ago in a Brooklyn criminal case involving registering to vote and voting..." above ? Jes askin' !!!

Gatemouth & Gail, it's obvious that "Justice Brennan" is a reference to former Assemblyman Jim Brennan, who John O'Hara is sueing for his part in pushing the unlawful prosecution and conviction of O'Hara by making frequent calls about the O'Hara case to almost every justice or judge involved in the trials, appeals and motions relative to the O'Hara prosecution and defense.
