Did Florida's Republican Governor DeSantis just scuttle his own chances of being POTUS any time soon --- by his dissing President Donald Trump instead of supporting him ???

Just twenty-two words might have completely derailed Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 2024 campaign before it was even announced  ---  very much like he was aboard a Norfolk Southern freight train jumping the track in Palestine, Ohio  ---  and poisoning any chances of his ever getting MAGA Republicans onboard for his campaign any time soon

Ron DeSantis' belated remarks about Donald Trump's possible indictment by NYC's Soros-supported Manhattan DA opened with this  ---  "I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair...."

And then DeSantis said this  ---  "I have no interest in getting involved in some manufactured circus by some Soros-DA.... He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in the state of Florida...."

What a guy  ---  that Ron Desantis  ---  he showed that he is the man of the moment  ---  except that, it's not this moment, because Ron DeSantis would rather take a pass than weigh-in on the issue of the Dems' indicting the former GOP President and present GOP front-runner for President in 2024

DeSantis governs effectively in Florida, where he says he now has a full plate. But until a few hours ago, he also was a legitimate 2024 Republican presidential prospect  ---  and he shouldn’t have dismissed a major moment in the history of presidential politics simply because he had his own political stuff going on in his home state.

If DeSantis couldn't effectively juggle his current job as Florida Governor with his growing position as a national GOP spokesperson, then most likely he can kiss any of his presidential dreams goodbye.

Until he shows everybody that he has learned how to juggle being a local elected leader and a being a GOP presidential contender that understands when a national moment has been thrust upon him and vital national interests are at stake, he is not a viable or suitable presidential contender.  ---  But that will have to be some time in the distant future; because for the 2023-2024 election cycle for President of the United States, Ron DeSantis has burnt his own toast, dropped it on the floor, and stepped all over it.

DeSantis governs effectively in Florida? Really? Then explain why insurance companies decided not to pay homeowners for hurricane damage and DeSantis does nothing?
Insurance is under the control of the State not Federal government.
DeSantis is under control of the insurance lobbyist.

DeSantis is the poor mans Jeb Bush. And he'll do as well as Jeb.

1017, you don't know squat about the special inurance needs of Floridians wrt windstorm coverage, and the exception to coverage for windstorm damage in all homwowners' casualty and general liability policies. To cover the possibility of windstorm damage, homowners need to purchase separate windstorm policies; they are expensive, but without those policies, no coverage, it's that simple.

Without the windstorm exception, the large insurance carriers would not write any insurance in Florida. It's been that way under both Democrat and Republican governors for over twenty years.

Everybody, try to keep your eyes on the ball. DeSantis took a few days to make up his mind what was best for him. Then finally, instead of just clearly condemning the Soros-backed NYC Democrat district attorney for politicizing his office, DeDantis got all snarky about not knowing what was the right thing to do about paying off former President Trump's possible former professional girly-girl, Stormy.

What Governor Ron DeSantis did and said is not acceptable from any prospective Republican candidate for POTUS.

Ever since Bragg became a national story Desantis and Ragusa tanked.

Gwenyeth Paltrow is on trial and you waste my time with Trump !!

Ragusa will regret being so anti-Trump

206, that is phony commentary, spreading fake news about Ragusa, and not doing it very well.

It must be Brian Fox with too much time on his hands.

Why would Ragu regret being anti Trump when he's dropping out of the race this week.

Yeah, great, 835! That'll happen a hundred times over.

Now, tell me a real little secret, how many competing 2023 GOP campaigns have paid Liam some money for "political" services? I heard it was more than two.

Liam is running a pyramid scheme where everyone loses except him and Christine Sisto

What happened to the guy in Manalapan?

Justin is doing it again. City council is reducing the police funding again. Again Justin?

1034, well, well, well! You guys are at the big lies all over again.

But just what makes you think you'll get away with it THIS TIME, when you've failed, failed, failed with this phony stuff about Brannan so many times before?

If Ari keeps it up with this Fox & McCabe all lies all the time crap, Justin will be eating Ari's lunch before it's the end of summer. Ari will only be left with some crust and crumbs on a square of white waxed paper wrapping, and getting maybe a third of the total vote in November for all his trouble, but only if he's lucky.

The House Democrats are fighting hard for the American people. Ari Kagan is taking the bus because he doesn't have a driver's license.
