Vito LaBella has been a neighborhood guy his whole life --- now, he says that he wants to run for the NYS Senate against Andrew Gounardes
Vito LaBella has a solid record of public service and activism in his community of Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights that goes back many, many years prior to his becoming a candidate
He is a retired NYPD Lieutenant --- and a well-known local education advocate
Vito LaBella was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York; he went to Xaverian HS in Bay Ridge, then went to Creighton University berore he joined the NYPD, and he is now a retired NYPD lieutenant, and lives on Ridge Boulevard, in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.
Mr. LaBella is married and the proud father of two sons and a daughter, all being educated in the NYC Public School System. Vito has taken an active role in his children’s public school education: he works for the Christa McAuliffe Intermediate School (IS 187) PTO, Inc., in Dyker Heights; he has twice been elected to the local Community Education Council; and Vito was also the co-founder of PLACE NYC, which is an organization that advocates for accelerated education, and for NYC Department of Education accountability and transparency.
Vito LaBella expects to use all of his life experiences with the NYPD, and as a local and city-wide education advocate. in the New York State Senate as the Senator in Brooklyn’s newly-drawn 22nd State Senate District.

And where is Brian Fox? Alone in his lonely flat I guess. at least he finally had a chance to take down the notice for the Verrazzano Republicans' February 21st meeting one whole month after it was held.
Fox is sulking because the the GOP & Conservative Party Chairmen told him not to step on the 2022 campaigns, and get his and Liam's club to work for their candidates that aren't named Fox or paying very much to Liam.
Also making Fox grumpy are a few wonks that have mentioned to Fox and others inside the GOP and Conservative Party that Brian Fox didn't do as well as John Quaglione did against Brannan in the Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights election districts that are still in the newly redrawn 43rd Council District. In other words, Fox's best mostly Asian EDs from the 2021 election are out of the new district.

240, you can't be any more minor in the details that you choose than to focus on EDs that are no longer in the district where Fox says that he wants to run. In the Bay Ridge and Dyker EDs that are still in the 43rd Concil District.
John Quaglione was a stronger candidate in 2017 than Fox was in 2021. Several Republican insiders are saying that just as surely as Fox lost in 2021, Quaglione would surely have won.
If Q was a stronger candidate how come he didnt come close?

The data poster has got it right because I looked it up. Boss Brannan got more votes in Bay Ridge n Dyker Heights against Fox then he got against Quaglioney in 2017. Boss Brannan outran Eric Adams in the 43Rd Council District by 15 percentage points which means a good number of people voted for Kurtis Sliwa and Brannan. Boss Brannan is hard to kill

Everybody knows that John Quaglione came very close in 2017, and it would have been closer if Capano didn't run as a third party spoiler. Quaglione should have been the GOP candidate in 2021, because it's now clear that he would have won.

109, John Quaglione was not on the ballot on election night, so there is nothing that he could have lost, unless he had run for City Council instead of Brian Fox.
If Q had run instead of Fox, Q would have won certainly. The result would have been the same in both instances, Quaglione didn't lose, because he didn't run; and if Quaglione had run, he wouldn't have lost then either.
