Things just seem to be going from bad to worse for Brian Fox and his Campaign for City Council
At this early stage of things, it looks like the Fox campaign has made the unforced error of being caught in a major lie --- by falsely claiming that his opponent, City Councilman Justin Brannan, was responsible for cancelling the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade
Unfortunately for Brian Fox, that lie was exposed by none other than the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade Committee on their Facebook Page early on Sunday, May 30th >>> when they announced that Councilman Brannan Brannan had offered to help stage a more regular style Bay Ridge Memorial Day Parade, but that the Parade Committee had been "locked-in" to alternative plans (their complete comment on Facebook is quoted below)
This is what appeared on the "Brian Fox for City Council" Facebook page a couple of days ago:
"Brian Fox for City Council is in Bay Ridge.... May 28 at 11:10 AM.... On Memorial Day we remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice, the least we could do is honor them properly. Sad to see Staten Island elected officials went to bat for those who have served our country, but Brooklyn's elected officials did not. I guess making sure the Memorial Day parade marched down the streets of Bay Ridge was not a priority of Councilman Justin Brannan who is a longtime ally of the Mayor. He should have made an effort - our servicemen and women deserve nothing less." Here' s the response by the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade [Committee] on their Facebook page: "Brooklyn's Memorial Day Parade.... May 30, @ 9:00 AM.... Veterans have staged Brooklyn’s Memorial Day Parade since I became involved almost 30 years ago, and many years before that. The community has supported us with donations and assistance for many years. We are very grateful for that. Brooklyn’s Memorial Day Parade is not, and has never been run by politicians. If you wanted to know anything about the parade all you had to do was reach out to me or any member of the executive committee. All of our local politicians have supported this parade and they all respected the solemnity of the day. Both Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and Councilman Justin Brannan did call me and ask if they could help. I said that we were already locked into holding another motorcade that included a float and vintage military vehicles going over to the VA hospital on Poly Place and then onto John Paul Jones Park for our memorial service. The committee of mainly Veterans that runs this parade did this as a collective decision. Brooklyn’s parade is very different from the one in Staten Island. It is much, much bigger and involves a yearlong effort to organize. We did not have enough time to put together a conventional parade to honor all those service members who paid such a terrible price for us. For anyone to politicize this event is just wrong, and highlights the negatives of social media, pick up a phone. All those who are using the parade to bring up the past and to snipe at one another, stop it. All the men and women who lost their lives in selfless service to our country deserve better." Just read several of the comments on the the 'Brian Fox' Facebook site trying to tough it out after their guy Brian Fox got caught in his lie about Justin Brannan.
Some, like TJ Mitchell & Brian Dougherty repeat older lies about defunding cops and anti-Fascist witch hunts. Others talked about missing Marty Golden. What a load of crap. You got to wonder about how these people function in everyday life, because their brains don't work right. Fox gets caught in a lie and the rest of his crew gets verbal diarrhea, as if by doing that, nobody will notice the big Fox lie.

Interestingly, the excellent Judy Collins version of this song was nominated for a Grammy, and later named "Song of the year" as a "folk song" --- that must have made Stephen Sondheim break out in gales of laughter..... Whether, it's sung by Sinatra, Streisand or Collins, or even by Booby Short, Bing Crosby, Kenny Rogers, Lou Rawls, Ella Fitzgerald, ABBA, or Grace Jones, and/or jazz-played by Count Bassie or Stan Kenton, this is a 100% classic show tune. Ghorra and Bruno are with Sliwa constantly makes total sense. Bruno probably baked the meatball cake that Sliwa delivered to Gracie Mansion, and Ghorra probably was holding the match that burned Sliwa's hand as he was burning paper masks on the sidewalk.

I don’t think 9:33 is Bob, Ted maybe because it sounds like someone who is completely inexperienced in politics. The cast of Jersey Shore also got plenty of free press. Whoever is supposedly “advising” Curtis on media has been doing such a bang up job that Curtis got tossed from the next debate because he couldn’t make matching funds. City Council candidates will have more money on hand then Curtis, and Mateo has raised almost twice as much as Sliwa. Respected political consultants work on real campaigns not cheap publicity stunts to get the candidate and their friends a paycheck.

I've seen a few Vito Fossella for Borough President lawn signs in and around my little piece of heaven called, West Brighton/ Sunrise-Sunset Hill/ Clove Lakes Park Staten Island; and that is pretty much it for the man you call "Vito" (probably some of you proabably also call Ratso Vito Bruno >>> "Vito" <<< as well, so please do your best to avoid any confusion --- I'd hate to hit the wrong "Vito" with a brickbat during the 2021 race).
Meanwhile, I see many more signs for Steven Matteo (NOTE: "STEVEN" & "TWO TTs [TEES]") and Master Jhong Kim (NOTE: "...the man who puts his money where his mouth is...") for Staten Island Borough President; along with a few signs for that office for Letitia Remauro..... [As a sidenote FYI, there appear to be many more posters and lawn signs for the Democrat candidates for SI BP around; but after all, I am mostly seeing >>> NORTH STATEN ISLAND <<<]
So far the "earned media" on this GOP primary race for Staten Island BP has been hit and miss, but it seems to be picking as we here on Staten Island close in on primary day. There was a pretty good recent overview and analysis in the "... I have no real feel who the GOP voters are leaning towards --- and there is only one woman in the GOP race, and she was the GOP County Chairperson --- but, if I'm "FOR" anybody, it's probably Steve Matteo, because his name looks like Fernando Mateo's, and he does bear/bare a strong physical resemblance to Justin Brannan.....
