The party's over --- it's time to call it a day --- Marty Golden CONCEDES.....

After almost two weeks,  Marty Golden finally throws in the towel with only a very slight change in the vote tally since Election Night

It's the end of an era in Southwest Brooklyn politics.....

Is it the end for all Kings County Republicans,  as well ?????

On Monday, November 19th,  State Sen. Marty Golden conceded that he had lost his state senate seat to Democratic challenger Andrew Gounardes,  as the NY Board of Elections completed its final count of absentee ballots.
Said Marty  in a formal statement  ---  "I congratulate Andrew Gounardes and wish him well in his service to the people of the 22nd State Senate district....   Although we came up just short this election, I am grateful my career in public service has been full of much success as a police officer and as an elected official....   As I think of the future, my supporters, neighbors and friends can be sure that I will still always look for opportunities to make our neighborhoods an even better place to live, work and raise a family."
According to the unofficial New York Board of Elections results, Gounardes was leading by more than 1,000 votes; and there were still about 1,400 absentee ballots that needed to be counted after election day.
The information above is from an "AM New York" report by Nicole Brown [https://www.amny.com/news/elections/golden-concedes-1.23586208].

Marty should have thanked Jerry for engorging his campaign full of flunkie losers that led to this disastrous defeat.

Anonymous said...

Oh Uncle Marty ... with the pitiful campaign you ran, 1,200 votes is amazing. You could have won with a professional, sophisticated campaign. I know you don't do sophisticated... but it was definitely doable.

Anonymous said...

Thank God.

Now Kassar and the other idiots are definitely unemployed.....

Under Craig Eaton we had an Office Headquarters, phones, volunteers, and real grassroots operations. Under the change of GOP leadership triggered by Jerry we lost the office, the phones, the volunteers, and bless Vito Bruno’s heart for everything he did to help the Brooklyn GOP but one man does not a grassroots operation make.

All kidding aside this race was winnable by Marty. Gerry Kassar blew it. How did he blow it you ask? a) Cocksure from years of ham sandwich challengers, he didn't take the challenge seriously and b) by letting people like Liam McCabe take the wheel. Marty was in the fight of his life and with how much money he had in the bank, he should have hired a top flight staff of professional campaigners from Washington. Insted they hired Liam and Steve Maguire's kid for $15 an hour and this is the result.

BOOK YOUR EVENT TODAY!

Anonymous said...

Cats is sponsoring the Brooklyn GOP Holiday Party there.. of course Eaton will say he said it was ok

Anonymous said...

Cats had his good friend Craig on the air with him on his radio program the only current or former Chair. Craig openly called corn Ghorra to resign on the air without any resistance from Cats. Keep talking about mentoring and other nonsense.

Anonymous said...

It's time for Craig Eaton to talk tough to John Catsimatidis. If Johnny Cats wants anything from the Brooklyn GOP in 2021, he needs to pay all the bills for rebuilding the party over the next two years, and he has to do as he's told by the new Brooklyn Republican leadership. if he doesn't do that, then it has to be an anybody-but-Catsimatidis for the 2021 mayoral candidate for the Brooklyn GOP.
Otherwise, Marty Golden will milk Cats like an overfull money tit over that same period.

Anonymous said...

Cats isn't a problem, but Marty Golden and his Bay Ridge Manor are.
Removing Golden from his long held office was only step one.
Next, Golden has to be treated like the demon we now know him to be; and he has to be removed from any kind of activity as a Republican.
Maybe, something like a Republican version of Fight Back Bay Ridge has to make sure Marty is completely retired from public life.

Anonymous said...

Marty Golden has made it clear privately and publicly he still intends to be involved with the Brooklyn GOP and maybe even be chair himself. Either way, the vast majority of county committee members are still loyal to him and will support whoever he wants as chair , including Ghorra .

He has also made it clear for Cats to even be considered by the Brooklyn GOP for Mayor in 2021, Cats must publicly rebuke Eaton. Cats will get this message soon enough.

Cats is a shrewd man and if he wants to be Mayor , he will do it. Besides, he already threw Eaton under the bus the last week of the campaign by supporting Golden big time. But this will be much worse and will be the final nail in the coffin of Eatons diminished relevance.

5:17 is so out of the loop it’s a strong possibility they work at BOE and perhaps they feel they need to keep posting clueless comments in order to keep their job. It’s the likeliest explanation why someone so removed from what’s actually taking place insists on commenting with the same old lines of bs.

Anonymous said...

It really doesn't matter if Ghorra remains chairman, or if Marty becomes chairman, or even if they turn it over to Q: Marty's power has been broken, and it can never be restored. He's done.

Unless there is some seismic shift in national and state politics, Republicans are done in cities and neighborhoods like Bay Ridge and Marine Park.

So let Marty play his games. Opposition to him can beat most of his district leaders if they want to. Why bother? Let the rats have the sinking ship.

Anonymous said...

Yes, it does matter. And Marty's games do matter.
The last vestiges of Marty Golden's Manson-cult have to be eradicated before the GOP can begin any kind of comeback.

Anonymous said...

When Cats separates himself from Eaton for the Brooklyn GOP and mayoral race, Eaton of course will say he approved it

Anonymous said...

I love how this one idiot on here keeps demanding Eaton prove he didn't support Golden.

Or the other mook who blames Kassar for train delays and the weather.

Anonymous said...

If doesn't work and Kassar is in charge, nor further inquiries need be made.

Anonymous said...

I spoke to Cats's political guys today and they showed him this Blog and word is that he is not happy at all that Golden and Ghorra are claiming to be such great friends, when they are not.

He said he will address it when he gets back into town. He said that if Ghorra and Golden in fact have been saying these things, there will be problems.

This is going to really backfire on Golden and Ghorra - thanks to the guys who keep posting the lies. They will be the ones to blame.

Not a good idea to keep lying since you never know who will see this!

Anonymous said...

Indeed Craig should stop lying about Cats not really being with Gounardes with him...Ed Cox and Golden are close ...and Ed will not be happy with Cats. Not a good idea for Craig to keep lying as you never know who will see this..I hear Cats will address this with Eaton when he is back in town and if he said this there will be problems .

Anonymous said...

Cats will be pissed Eaton saying he was really with Gounardes and that they celebrating Golden's loss ..
This blog was sent to Cox and he 2asnt happy and will b3 addressing it with Cats when he is back in town

Anonymous said...

Some of these guys crack me up. Cox and Weingartner went against Andrea for the Vice Chair role but somehow the Cats family will care about what Cox has to say against their good friend Craig. No chance.

Anonymous said...

Considering FBI now classifies the far-right Proud Boys as an “extremist group with ties to white nationalism”. Jerry and his crew need to stop acting like Ian Reilly's association with the Proud Boys had no effect on costing both Golden and Donovan their seats. Golden should have immediately distanced himself from Reilly and his Proud Boys and maybe the results would have been different!

Anonymous said...

The following people are no longer relevant: Marty Golden, Jerry Kassar, John Catsimatidis, and Liam McCabe. Why do we insist on mentioning them in every comment? It is over. O-V-E-R. Marty wants to be Chairman of our Party? What Party? It is done, my friends. We have no Party. There is no Party. Marty set it up so he wouldn't have any young guns threatening to Primary him and then Jerry ran the whole operation into the ground. Ray Riley and Georgia saw the writing on the wall and hit the eject button. Now it's your turn. You want to be a Republican in New York City? Move to Staten Island. The Brooklyn GOP is D.O.A.

or my name ain't Nathan Arizona!

Anonymous said...

4:10 post spot on. How could the Golden Campaign not know how devastating this would be to their campaign? Up until all the claims about racism couldn’t be backed up with much by Gounardes campaign. Brannan brilliantly trolled members of the Golden and Saperstein campaign who played even the flimsiest role in the Proud Boy’s event and they fell for it hook line and sinker. In the end Golden’s campaign thought they could make this go away by threatening a lawsuit, that’s all they had aside from the now infamous “he’s a friend” comments to the press. Hey guys stop blaming others for Golden’s loss. You own it.

Anonymous said...

An old friend made a good point to me the other day while we were getting pedicures: all things being equal, Marty had a good run. Let's be real folks, Uncle Marty should probably have been indicted a number of times over the years between money laundering at the manor, juggling 3 different pensions, being a slumlord, and all those fugazy movie tax breaks and catering deals with Haddad's, the fact that he got beat fair and square and didn't go out in a hail of corruption and shame is a good thing. Now he can retire to Boca with his 4 pensions and his dignity in tact. I would have sobbed to see Marty on the stand like Skelos and his son.

Anonymous said...

5:22 more fake news. Preet investigated Marty extensively came back with nothing. But I guess it’s easier to talk bs than admit you ran a shit show campaign.

Anonymous said...

No link of Eaton saying Ghorra should resign on Cats show
Heresay

Kassar must be furious that Brannan is getting all the credit for beating Marty. Kassar is the one who should be getting the credit!

RESPONSE: THE "LESS IS MORE" EDITION

======================

TO MANY BUT NOT ALL OF THE COMMENT MAKERS ABOVE

SO MUCH OF THIS IS OLD AND REDUNDANT MATERIAL --- IF SOMETHING IS TRUE, REPEATING IT OVER AND OVER DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUER --- THE SAME EXACT FORMULATION IS EQUALLY VALID IF SOMETHING IS FALSE

Who is or isn't friends with John Catsimatidis won't be established or confirmed by any repetition of anonymous comments on this blog.

Now, who is, was or might have been with Andy Gounardes or against Marty Golden, openly or even under deep cover, in 2018 isn't easy to keep secret for very long. Besides, I don't know that anybody is trying to keep anything about any of that secret anymore.

========================

AND SPECIFICALLY TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:51 PM"

YOU ARE SOME VERY SPECIAL KIND OF RETARD: "MORON"; "IMBECILE"; "IDIOT"; AND/OR "CRETIN" WOULD LEAVE SO MUCH UNSAID ABOUT YOUR COGNITIVE DEFICITS.....

"Hearsay" you say ??? Are you kidding me ?????

None of the comments on this blog would even qualify as "rank hearsay" --- even on their best days. Also, what makes you think that any "link" [by whatever you might mean, intend, connote or even denote by that word] would change any "hearsay" into anything but hearsay with ever so slightly more attribution ?????

I hear that "links" and hearsay go well with eggs for breakfast, or even lunch in a pinch. YUM-YUM !!!

WHEN MR. CATSIMATIDIS ACTUALLY REBUKES CRAIG EATON FOR ANYTHING, I'LL BE GLAD TO LET YOU COMMENT ABOUT IT --- UNTIL THEN STOP WITH THE FAKE NEWS

Both Eaton and Cats wanted Marty to fall on his ass on his own..... Maybe, there was a nudge here and there, but not enough contact for the refs to blow the whistle or throw a flag.....

If it were Craig and Cats on the DWTS Finale, their complex content and artistic execution would certainly have won them the "Mirror Ball Trophy".....

Anonymous said...

He rebuked Eaton when he sent out an endorsement letter , social media endorsement, call, etc. when Eaton said he wouldn't do ANYTHING.
That's a rebuke

Anonymous said...

You are a real loser 10:35.

You appear to be grasping at straws and keep attacking Eaton. Everything you say about Cats and Eaton are not facts, but are mere speculation.

The only true facts are the following:

a) Golden lost - we know he did, he conceded;
b) Kassar, Golden, Kepi, Daley, McClelland, etc. and all the other Golden employees are out of work, unemployed and unemployable - we know this because Marty lost to a novice policitian;
c) Ghorra lost bigtime and let a Senate and a Congressional seat slip away while he jerked himself and everyone else off telling them "I have over 1000 volunteers on the streets" - we know this because, duh, they lost.

These are the facts. Everything you say is mere speculation. Keep dreaming but focus on the facts.

Anonymous said...

10:35 is just trying to get under Eaton's skin, and Eaton couldnt care less, because he is laughing so loud about Golden's loss.

Anonymous said...

These are not true facts:

Eaton told all Cats would not lift a finger to help Golden

Cats then wrote a letter, Did call, had Golden on his show, etc, etc

These are FACTS..now Eaton can say it didn't matter and give the BS he "approved" it , which No one beleives..

Anonymous said...

How are the facts above not true facts?

You are clearly in denial. You are either mentally disturbed or drank too much Golden Kool-Aid.

All that read this Blog will agree with me.

By the way, show me one link where Eaton told all Cats would not lift a finger for Golden?

And, the facts are that Cats wrote a bullshit letter, had Golden on his Sunday show two days before the election, and didnt give him any money at all. Not a rigning endorsement.

Have a great weekend.

RESPONSE: THE "ONE AWAY FROM A CLEAN SWEEP" EDITION
[To my avid fans and casual readers: This comment appears on two (2) comments threads simultaneously --- it's that relevant and important.....]

TO: ANY AND ALL ONCE & FUTURE KASSAR COMMENT MAKERS.....

IT'S ALL A MATTER OF RECORD --- IF YOU WANT TO RUN A POLITICAL RACE AND LOSE --- THEN JERRY KASSAR SHOULD BE YOUR COMBINATION OF SVENGALI & EISENHOWER

"Trilby" by George du Maurier is so NOT about Jerry Kassar; however, a negative comparison to du Maurier's Svengali works very easily for purposes of demonstration. Similarly, Kassar could only be compared to Eisenhower if there were no operations: "Torch"; "Bolero"; "Overlord"; or liberation of Antwerp and final push into Germany. In fact, it would almost be like Kassar's political career only paralleled Eisenhower's Army career, if it ended as Eisenhower's only being a West Point football player.....

Many people think that Jerry Kassar can take any sow's ear of an amateur candidate for any Office "X"; and, hocus-pocus, make them into a competitive seasoned pro with a reasonable shot at winning.

Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha !!! Almost nothing could be further from the truth. Over the years, Kassar has engineered, or been part of Mike Long's engineering of many, many more losses than wins; and those few wins were far more attributable to analyses and planning by a guy named Roth than either Long or Kassar. As for Kassar all by himself, it's probably damn close to NO winning races, none.

Locally, the Kassar slate is now very likely to be swept completely clean by 2020, when the BR Dems zero-in on Nicole M, along with a few GOP and Dem allies on Staten Island. Yes, somebody is getting a very special brew together.....

If the BR Dems get behind a competitive Staten Islander, and a rump group of SI GOPers get behind a "no name" for a primary against Nicole, then you know the game's afoot; and Kassar is LIKELY TO LOSE the last jewel in his crown.

Kassar is down, but yet out. However, that day is coming very, very soon.

Anonymous said...

Agree with you Gale and if you only knew a little more!

“Bob Capano is a well respected”.... ithats what it says in his bio! Hahahaha. I hear Bob is trying to one up Liam and Ulrich here with their forum. Nice try.

Anonymous said...

4:12 is right and it’s driving Jerry nuts. As usual the Cons must have their cake and eat it too, the next opportunity for patronage is on the Ulrich campaign of course, but Jerry can’t afford to alienate Malliotakis who Ulrich can’t stand. After the nasty social media confrontation between the Ulrich and Malliotakis teams, it’s a lot harder for Jerry to act like he’s on both sides but if anyone will give it the old college try it’s him.

Anonymous said...

Capano playing this great ..

Anonymous said...

This is great..guess we will see who has more people, and press and their event...Capano or Liam.

I hear Capano has 9 Public Advocate candidates coming, and nY1 and Ch. 9 confirmed for covering it , not to mention local press .
Plus Liam on defensive big time, getting lots of grief from Malliotakis supporters for backing Ulrich aftwr Ulrich screwed her and endorsed No Dietl

Anonymous said...

412.
I think the "one up" is working perfectly .

Anonymous said...

Capano will one up them again that’s not a surprise. The surprise is that Ted and Jerry would give the go ahead for Liam to bring Ulrich to Nicole’s back yard. What Some of you saw on Twitter is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of hostility between the two camps.

Anonymous said...

Liam, the leader of a new GOP club in Brooklyn just alienated Brooklyn's only Republican elected official..great job Liam..
Ted allowing this is just another nail in his coffin

Anonymous said...

What most of you don’t get is that Jerry has far more control over Malliotakis than he could have dreamed of with Marty. If Jerry tells her to show up to Ulrich event and wash Ted and Liam’s cars, the only question she’ll ask is whether to wash the cars before or after.

Anonymous said...

What a waste of time all of this stuff is.

Anonymous said...

I love that Liam and Kassar are so clearly caught between Malliotakis and Ulrich..c ant have it both ways.

C apanos column just out online really calls it out by saying something like if your a friend of Malliotakis , you can't be a friend of Ulrich...it puts out for all to see how Ulrich went against Nicole in mayoral election .. perfect timing on heels of Liam forum bringing Ulrich to Nicole backyard ...Will make many Brooklyn GOPers wonder what Liam doing and question his judgment

Anonymous said...

Everybody knows Liam is close to Ulrich, and Jerry doing the usual song and dance telling everyone that Malliotakis and Ulrich patched things up thanks to him. Nobody really believes it. The most interesting part of the whole Ulrich event will be to see who goes there and pretends to still be Malliotakis friend. Ulrich is still the same guy who was mocking and taunting Malliotakis on Twitter last week, so anybody who shows to support Ulrich event will clear a lot of things up for her.

Anonymous said...

I’ve heard that people wondering about the Ulrich event have been told by Jerry that he and Nicole buried the hatchet after their Twitter war last week. I think that’s highly doubtful and I also think she’s going to take a look at who shows up to see who are her real friends.

Anonymous said...

Nicole and Ulrich didn't bury anything..it's all k assar trying to minimize damage to his puppet Liam, because word is spreading about what Liam is thinking giving Ulrich a platform in Nicole's own backyard ...expect a very small crowd..

Also, if Nicole and Ulrich were going to bury the hatchet it would have been done long ago..the Twitter war just made it worse..Capano exposed the specific war of words in their tweet dispute in his column just out...it's out there for all to see

Yea there is a groundswell of people in the Brooklyn GOP who can’t wait to go and collect signatures for Eric Ulrich in the bitter cold after repeatedly insulting Assemblywoman Malliotakis. Even Ted Ghorra wouldn’t go along with that no matter who told him.

Anonymous said...

More and more people talking about Liam poor decision to not only bring Ulrich to Nicole backyard in his capacity as a "GOP Club leader" but also his personal strong support of Ulrich for Public Advocate..alienated a lot of local republicans because of their support of Nicole..

All you need to know about Liams candidate Eric Ulrich is in 2013 he split from his GOP colleagues in the city council to vote for that leftist Melissa Mark-Viverito for Speaker.

Come on guys, the cons don’t care about ideas it’s all about the patronage for them. Ulrich is the ultimate rino but this is about getting some jobs and contracts. If Malliotakis keeps making all this noise about one little Ulrich visit l, she’ll be told to quiet down.
