Capano and Sliwa put on their final push for independent voters to go with Gounardes --- Reformers say "The Time is up for Golden"

Maybe,  it's just a political letter coming by snail mail  ---  but it will influence some independent voters to vote for Gounardes  ---  Who knows,  maybe it's the straw that breaks Marty's back.....

The recent "local" coverage of the Reform Party had an unfortunate headline that made it seem like "old news"  ---  but a Brooklyn Reporter article last week revealed what's behind the Reform Party's last minute push for Gounardes and against Golden

Yes,  the Reform Party is targeting independents in the final hours of the Golden-Gounardes campaign;  and it is doing it for Andy Gounardes.

Their latest letter starts like this:
"Dear Neighbor,
Sixteen years. That’s how long Marty Golden has been in office. In each of his past elections, we have supported him, but NOT in this one. Simply, his time is up and we are asking you to join us in supporting Andrew Gounardes for state senate on Tuesday. The Reform Party, which we lead, has endorsed Mr. Gounardes because we are tired of the same old politics as usual and the outsized role of special interests and big money in politics. We trust Andrew to have our best interests at heart, because the first bill he has promised to introduce when he’s elected is campaign finance reform to get money out of politics and prevent politicians from using their positions to line their pockets. Unlike Marty Golden, Andrew’s campaign is largely funded by donations from individuals like you and us. When we send him to Albany, we’ll know he will have our backs. Our party also stresses term limits for all elected officials and this election is a natural means to achieve this goal with Marty Golden. Through his own actions, Marty Golden has made himself the poster child for term limits...."

And it ends like this:
"....  This election, we can go with the same Senator who hasn’t done more than deliver the bare minimum for our community, or we can vote for Andrew Gounardes and put our future on the right track. This Tuesday, please vote for Andrew Gounardes on the Reform Party line to send a message that you are tired of the same old politics as usual!
Sincerely
/S/ Curtis Sliwa...  NYS Reform Party Chairman

/S/ Bob Capano...   Brooklyn Reform Party Chairman"

RECENT ARTICLE HAS A OLD LOOK  ---  BUT IT TELLS IT ALL IN AN UP-TO-DATE-REPORT  ---  THE QUOTES BY SLIWA AND CAPANO ARE FRESH & FEISTY

Here's the meat ant potatoes as doled-out by by Paula Katinas:

"Sliwa, who is the party’s state chairperson, and Bob Capano, who heads the Kings County Reform Party, are snubbing Republican state Sen. Martin Golden and are supporting his Democratic opponent, Andrew Gounardes, in the Nov. 6 election....   Golden is running for re-election in the 22nd Senate District, a seat that takes in parts of several neighborhoods across Southwest Brooklyn, including Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, Manhattan Beach, Marine Park and Gerritsen Beach. Golden was first elected to the state Senate in 2002....   (See  "Reform Party Snubs Golden, Endorses Gounardes" by Paula Katinas, 10/31/18,  Brooklyn Reporter/  Politics & Government   [https://brooklynreporter.com/2018/10/reform-party-snubs-golden-endorses-gounardes/]).

In this article,  Paula gives her principal interviewees  a chance to have their own say, as follows:

CAPANO'S QUOTES

"....  Capano, who was born and raised in Bay Ridge, and who was a longtime Republican before joining the Reform Party, said the reason for his support for Gounardes can be summed up in two words: term limits....  'I and the Reform Party are firm believers in term limits. After 16 years with the same person in the Senate, it’s time for a change. Andrew Gounardes is a Bay Ridge guy. He is a pragmatic, sensible Democrat. He is the right choice this time,'  Capano told this newspaper....   Capano said he got to know Gounardes years ago when he served as a top aide to Marty Markowitz when Markowitz was Brooklyn borough president. Gounardes was a Bay Ridge community leader at the time. 'You really get involved and get to know the issues and the people,' he said....   Capano’s break from the GOP and from Golden is striking. He ran for Bay Ridge’s City Council seat in 2009 as a Republican and lost to incumbent Democrat Vincent Gentile....

SLIWA'S QUOTES

"....   Sliwa, co-host of the popular 'Curtis and Cosby' show with Rita Cosby on WABC-Radio, said term limits also entered into his thinking when he decided to back Gounardes over Golden....   'Marty is a poster child for term limits,'  Sliwa told this newspaper....   Sliwa is well known in New York for being the founder of the Guardian Angels citizen patrol group....   Sliwa said he has always enjoyed a friendly relationship with Golden but added that the lawmaker has changed in the years since he first met him. “You used to approach Marty on the street, go have a cup of coffee with him. He was approachable. Now, he’s aloof and unapproachable. He’s out of touch,” Sliwa said....  Gounardes 'is a much better fit for the district,' Sliwa said. 'Bay Ridge is not a radical place. We didn’t feel that supporting Gounardes it would be like voting for a Socialist.'...”

Sliwa nailed it. Andy is a better fit to lose.

Andy has already got big money out of politics. Look at him.

No money. No ground game. No chance.

Dont despair. Senator Golden will retire in 2022.

Wow ..this post seems to have riles the Golden cronies.

Chuck Otey is fuming on Facebook about the demonstrations and overall campaign against Marty. And Colleen is stroking out over the attacks on her husband for hotting the grandma with his car. What a time to be alive.

Time for Marty and Colleen to pack their bags and move to Florida......

That is where the old people go when they use up their usefulness

Martys alive?

comment by 1:34 is the reason why Marty wins. The message from Gournardes is old white people need to step aside. What does that get Andy the progressive LGBTQXRZ vote?

Agreed 5;17

1:34 sounds like an old white man watching Soilent Green re runs.

RESPONSE: THE "JUST TALK AMONG YOURSELVES, BUT TRY TO MAKE SOME SENSE OF IT" EDITION

TO WHOEVER MENTIONED IT

"SOYLENT GREEN" WAS A VERY GOOD MOVIE WITH LOW PRODUCTION VALUE AND SPOTTY SPECIAL EFFECTS: MEANWHILE THERE IS SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT THAT SHOULD BE PART OF THE STATE SENATE DEBATE IN THE LAST MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE CAMPAIGN --- IT'S A DISCUSSION OF THE LAST VESTIGES OF THE PATTERN OF CORRUPT DEALINGS BETWEEN MARTY GOLDEN AND DISGRACED FORMER BROOKLYN DA CHARLES HYNES

At last all these scumbags are linked together in a real daisy-chain cluster-fuck: Michael Tobman has been working for State Senator Marty Golden for some time now; his father-in-law Roger Adler now works for the Republican Majority in the State Senate. When I see that I immediately think that some kind of >>> kick-back scheme <<< is in the works to short circuit campaign cash into Marty Golden's pockets (I guess the Bay Ridge Manor scam has limitations and Marty suddenly really does seem to need the money to retire again).....

You see Roger Adler, scumbag that he always has been, was caught kicking back to Brooklyn DA Hynes many years ago, along with several other "Special Prosecutors"..... It was an ill-disguised scheme to channel 10% of their special prosecutors' fees back into the Hynes campaign fund --- you don't have to believe me, the Daily News broke that one way back when it was happening..... Much more recently, Dan Donovan arranged for Adler to have a super payday investigating Democrat Debbie Rose for something involving the WFP --- I say "investigating... something," because Adler was paid the better part of half a million dollars in "special prosecutors" fees for the phony gig arranged by Republican Dan Donovan, but he couldn't find anything wrong.....

Now, ostensible Democrats Adler and his super scumbag son-in-law, Tobman, are both sucking from a pair of Republican State Senate tits, with no apparent benefit for the Republicans paying their bills. There's something there and somebody like the News will find it, but unfortunately, not until after election day.....

Of course, there might be some "other consideration" involved for Golden and the rest of the Flanagan crowd; there have always been whispers that Tobman and Adler are some kind of behind the scenes, Ninja-style fixers. BOOOOOOH !!! --- SCARY STUFF KIDS..... But so far the GOP state senators are apparently getting the same low production values and shoddy special effects from these jokers as we saw in "Soylent Green".....

Roger Adler was a Donovan appointee as the special prosecutor on the big tax payer wasted Debbie Rose investigation. And nobody talks about the Max and Debbie Rose relation.

CORRECTION & BACKFILL: THE "MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK" EDITION

ONE OF MY OCCASIONAL BUT VERY VALUABLE BSIs GAVE ME REASON TO MAKE A SMALL CORRECTION TO MY PRIOR COMMENT ABOUT SCAMMING SCUMBAG ROGER ADLER AND HIS SUPER SCUMBAG SON-IN-LAW MICHAEL TOBMAN.....

It seems that Roger Adler's fee for being a Donovan "Special Prosecutor" in the Debbie Rose-WFP matter was not "... the better part of half a million dollars..." --- it was OVER half a million dollars..... According to the Albany Times Union, quoting a NY Times report, "... he charged at least $520,000 in legal fees, at $300 an hour, for a lengthy investigation that ultimately resulted in all charges being dropped...." (See "Prosecutor in Working Families probe now working for Senate GOP" by Chris Bragg, 11/2/18, Times Union/ Capitol Confidential [https://blog.timesunion.com/capitol/archives/284655/prosecutor-in-working-families-probe-now-working-for-senate-gop/]).

.....BURYING MY LEAD --- BIG TIME.....

Chris Bragg's CC column in the (A)TU also contains this very important tid-bit: ".... Before his hiring by Senate Republicans, Adler had some other right-leaning history, once writing an amicus brief for the State Conservative Party in a legal fight against same-sex marriage, as well as giving campaign donations to Golden and the Conservative Party...." HMMMMM !!! "DONATIONS TO GOLDEN" --- that sort of completes the daisy chain circle of cash that is necessary to prove a kick-back scheme doesn't it ?????

Where is the NY Daily News on this ? Hey, NY Post get a move on this one and you'll beat the News !!!!! And to the NY Times, just take your time; sad to say it, but Marty will probably be around a while longer.....

I went to Eaton's Rally for Donovan last night, and after looking at the Bay Ridge Manor video from Golden's Rally, it seems like Eaton had more people at his house, than Golden could get together at the Bay Ridge Manor.

Very very sad that Golden couldnt muster a full room.

Years back, it would be standing room only at Golden's Rallys.

Clearly his days are numbered. Hopefully two days.

I just looked at it. And Ghorra, take a look at his rug. It looks like it was dipped in oil. Take a look at it.....very gross

Listened to the story that Golden told. He cant even put words together. He is so scared, it shows in his speech. Very sad how low he has fallen.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for letting us know. I was there and Marty was screeming, not speaking. He was turning sooo red. Thought he was going to stroke out. Too bad...

And it is funny that he doesnt even mention Ghorra.

He mentions and thanks Donovan, Malliotakas and Saperstein...

He tried to talk so smart, was whispering at times and then would go into a screeming rant. Wow.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew!!!!

Marty showed it is time for him to go. His desperate screaming proves he has lost it.

Time for a change!!!!!

Does Ghorra even own a suit? He comes to a Rally in a sweater and kacky pants. What is douche

Anonymous said...

Golden will win because people from all different factions unified to keep the last GOP seat in Brooklyn. Maybe he didn’t mention Ghorra and Kassar because he finally had a moment of clarity. Probably wishful thinking. For all the infighting Golden has some decisions to make after the election, the campaign that was assembled is one massive ugly dumpster fire. It’s time to clean house.

Regarding Eatons rally, I would bet Cats wasn't there because the Cat Man made a deliberate and real decision to choose Golden over Eaton ..letter, Facebook endorsement , radio appearance ..planned all along for big, game changing Cats move last days of campaign ...what an embarrassment to Craig

Anonymous said...

Polls show Robert Morgan winning big with Saperstein.

Anonymous said...

6:26 it was probably an online poll and he asked all his friends from the Golden campaign to go online and vote.

Yea you guys are right! Cats and his Family threw away a long lasting friendship with Craig Eaton to please Morgan! Amazing you figured it out, now if you could only explain why the entire State GOP establishment had to beg Cats to endorse Marty at the last minute and manage to give him a couple of minutes on his radio show all a couple of days before the election. It was actually Morgan’s charm and charisma and kick ass streak with the races he’s run. I mean if Cats wants to lose in a landslide in a friendly district like Michael Grimm Rebecca Harrary Joe Concannon and David Garland, then clearly John and Andrea have to get friendly with Morgan.
