JOEL GIAMBRA: “INDEPENDENT VISION NEEDS AN INDEPENDENT PATH”
>>> Media across New York State picks up the story and runs with it <<<
Since Joel Giambra announced an >>> “INDEPENDENT” <<< run for GOVERNOR of NEW YORK, we tend to like that because “INDEPENDENT” is part of the name for this blog
Giambra says his main message
is >>> REFORM <<< and
>>> CHANGING THE WAY BUSINESS IS DONE IN NEW YORK <<<
Conservatives, please note >>> UPSTATE REPUBLICAN GIAMBRA also signals his intent to seek
out the top of the Reform Party ticket in NY State in 2018 <<<
From the 3/1/18 “Giambra for Governor” press release :
“Candidate for Governor and former
Erie County Executive Joel Giambra announced today his intent to suspend his
run for the Republican nomination and instead focus his efforts on an
independent campaign…. ‘My message of
reforming and changing the way business is done in New York has been resonating
with voters across the political spectrum and while I remain a Republican, I
don't think my independent message has connected with state Republican leaders
who seem intent on continuing the losing formula that all but guarantees a
third term for Democrat Andrew Cuomo.’…
The former two-term Erie County executive will continue his discussions
with the state Reform Party with the intent to be that party's nominee…. ‘It is definitely time for a change in
Albany. The two major parties are resistant to the idea of change despite
the corruption and high taxes that have become a way of life in this state,’ Giambra said…. ‘My message of change has received
widespread support from the public, which includes a real plan to reduce the
size of government through consolidation, reform the MTA which presides over
the crumbling and most expensive subway system in the world, and legalize the
adult use of marijuana to raise billions of dollars in new revenue,’ Giambra
continued…. Giambra says that while he
respects both major parties, he said there is an unwillingness to confront the
idea that there is a better way to spend taxpayer money and that both parties
seem content to maintain the status quo….
‘We did not become the most taxed state in America by accident, it is
due to a systematic break down caused by politicians beholden to big donors and
party leaders rather than the people. We need to stop running a government that
is fueled by the kind of pay-to-play tactics that have helped Gov. Cuomo raise
$31 million in campaign money and fostered a climate of corruption currently on
display in a Manhattan court room’ Giambra said…. ‘The real fix starts at the top and can only
happen with a Governor who is independent of the corrupt Albany
culture. That is what my campaign has been about since day one and this is
now why I believe my message will be best heard and responded to as an
independent candidate,’ GIambra
concluded….”

I am not clear what party Giambra is running on. You state it's the "Independent" party but later he state Giambra supports reform. Everybody support reform in New York.
So which party is it?
Independent party endorsed Giambra & Donovan. Reform party is waiting for the phone to ring.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 10:19 PM" & "... AT 10:35 PM"
10:19, YOU ARE 100% CORRECT WHEN YOU SAY, "I AM NOT CLEAR..." --- AFTER THAT, IT GOES DOWN HILL VERY QUICKLY.
10:35, YOUR "INDEPENDENT PARTY ENDORSED GIAMBRA & DONOVAN..." IS VERY CREATIVE, BUT WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ?????
Let's be honest here for a second or two. Let's agree that what WE know about all of this is best expressed like this: "Uh !!! I dunnoh....."
So Giambra gets 3% in November. Big deal.
1035pm is not up on politics.
Reform Party endorsed Donovan.
Independence party did not endorse Giambra. Giambra release specifically said seeking Reform Party line. I am sure we will be hearing a lot more about this through Curtis Sliwa and Bob Capano. It is unfortunate that some ill advised on politics make false declarative comments here like 1035..
2:36 really understands politics. obviously a player in bobs victorious elections.
516 am obviously a player in McCabes victorious elections

WHY CAN'T YOU KIDS PLAY NICELY ???
Your shenanigans and monkeyshines are annoying [to] the adults.
The Conservative party is the only party that determines who win and loses in November. Every other party is a nuisance.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's a good one, Cisco.
Coffee with 1 sugar please.
How many times did independent Republican mayors Rudolph Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg have the Conservative party line? Certainly not as often as Joseph Lhotta and Nicole Malliotakis.
Didn't they all run in November?
Hey, Pancho!
Hey, Cisco!
219pm
Or ask Councilman Saperstein
Ahahah

TO THOSE ANONYMOUS COMMENTERS, WHO THINK THAT BY DENIGRATING OTHER PEOPLE'S JOBS AND TASKS IT MIGHT DIMINISH THOSE OTHER PEOPLE --- THINK AGAIN
I recently became reacquainted with and old chum from a local college. He always was very likeable and kind, but he never set the world on fire with his intellect. He also did his share of menial jobs; once, a long, long time ago, I remember him bussing tables at a Sheepshead Bay restaurant called "The Barge."
He didn't get a great professional job out of college --- something at the low-end, like social work. However, he was a plugger and a plodder, worked his way around the country, always advancing in his field. Eventually, he even got a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago; then he taught about social work for a lot of years at Penn, and when he was up for tenure there, those Ivy Leaguers shot him down. So, he got induced back to the NYC Met area, and was given a tenured, endowed seat at one of our local universities. Lately, he wrote an autobiography about his professional and academic life with all of its ups and downs; it's selling pretty good for that sort of thing, and he makes a few bucks on it.
--- Nearing his golden rewards, my old friend is living-out that maxim of George Herbert: "Living well is the best revenge".....
Well said Gale. Agree, very silly the way they attack Capano, even if working for John Cats in Red APPLE Group, Inc, would still be wrong as shows they fear him and looking for any little thing to attack on. Of course, we all know Capano is also a Professor, Columnist , Chairman, etc . which makes the attacks even more silly
We need a void, here...
