It’s time to stop the crap about the Angel Guardian Site --- It’s not the nuns who are trying to be greedy…..

It’s greedy developers with  >>> connections to Marty Golden <<<  other local pols  ---  And oh yes,  Nicky Mars, the fat guy with the funny hat and clothes  (I’d call him a “fat fuck,” but he is my supposedly “celibate” Bishop)

This headline tells it all,  the way the REAL BAD GUYS  want to say it  >>> “Deal with the devil: Nuns rejected bid to save, landmark Angel Guardian property”  ---  this is part of an orchestrated PR blitz by a witches brew of opportunistic developers,  craven politicians, and certainly the very corrupt Bishop of Brooklyn Nicholas DiMarzio.

NOTHING BUT A  >>>HIT PIECE <<<  AGAINST THE GOOD NUNS

According to a report last week in the Brooklyn Paper,   “They’ll have nun of that!...   The Sisters of Mercy rejected a bid for Dyker Heights’ beloved Angel Guardian home from a developer who would have kept the more-than-century-old structures standing, put in affordable or senior housing and maybe even a school, and supported landmarking the property — all of which locals and pols have passionately called for — according to the real-estate agent who represented the failed bidder….   The irate realtor said the nuns picked the richest bid without giving the other bidders a fair shot, adding that avarice was the only logical explanation….   “It’s greed,” said Gregory Bartlett, the head of RBM Brokerage. “It goes without saying that they picked the highest bidder.”…  Bartlett represented a private-development firm — which did not want to be named in this story — that submitted an initial $16-million bid for the property between 63rd and 64th streets, bound by 12th and 13th avenues, the day before last year’s Oct. 25 deadline….”  ( See  “Deal with the devil: Nuns rejected bid to save, landmark Angel Guardian property” by  Julianne McShane,  3/16/18,  Brooklyn Paper/  Brooklyn news / Development / Dyker Heights / Changing Brooklyn  [https://www.brooklynpaper.com/stories/41/11/br-angel-guardian-failed-bid-2018-03-16-bk.html]).
Can Julianne McShane and the Brooklyn Paper seriously think that this is journalism ?????   This article is based 99% on the remarks of two very interested hacks  ---  one a real estate “agent,” very loosely referred to as a “realtor,” named Gregory Bartlett  ---  and the other,  one of State Senator Marty Golden’s regular hacks & flacks,  Fran Vella-Marrone  (who is also the unofficial spokesperson and poster-girl for the “butt-fuck-end of Dyker Heights).
If you read the article in the Brooklyn Paper,  you’ll see that some undisclosed  >>> DEVELOPER <<<  made a very low  “offer” on the last day of bidding.  That offer was REJECTED by the owners of the Angel Guardian site,  the Sisters of Mercy;   and the reason is as plain as the nose on Fran V-M’s face.   The  >>> DEVELOPER <<<  “…  came in a day late and a pound short…”
At first blush,  Ms. V-M  did seem to get it;   according to a quote of Fran in the Brooklyn Paper article,   “The only reason I would imagine is that they were looking for the highest bidder, the most amount of money that they could get, because that’s what they were going after[sic]….”   That’s right,   Fran,   this is America…..   However,  then a weird new left-wing sensibility pops up in our turned-around Dyker Heights girl,  who oddly is also  a Vice Chair of the Conservative Party,   “Why not take the  [‘offer’]  that’s going to preserve the legacy [of the Angel Guardian home]?”

AND THEN THERE’S  “NICKY MARS”

Lurking behind all of this “other developer” business is none other than Nicholas DiMarzio,  the Catholic Bishop of Brooklyn & Queens.  What people need to know about this guy is that he is a wannabe mobster that spends most of his time trying to protect several pedophile priests and monsignors,  and turning the properties of the Diocese of Brooklyn into a profitable real estate empire  (all with the close assistance of "Cathedral Clubbers," folks like State Senator Martin Golden;  and others like Mike Long, Jerry Kassar and even the all-turned-around little Fran Vella-Marrone, each and every one of them from the so-called Conservative Party [except for SSMG,  who is only “endorsed” by the so-called Conservative Party]).

Anytime I walk by one of FVM's projects, I look up and watch out for falling bricks

Anonymous said...

That was a school construction project, but you left out 'Dyker Heights'; you can't mention FVM without having 'Dyker Heights' in the same sentence, either right before or right after her name. BTW, I'm sure that she supposedly is one of those passionate 'locals' that Julianne McShane is talking about . Also, none of the huge numbers of people moving into the you-know-what-end of Dyker Heights know anything about the Angel Guardian Home or anything else that FVM is talking about. This is a phony protest to extort money out of a very large worldwide group that started here in America and actually still does some charitable work --- unlike Nicky Mars' 'Catholic Charities,' which is nothing but a bottomless pit for our tax dollars.

I saw an LTE in The Tablet the other day attacking Golden, Abbate and Brannan for attacking the nuns. What is this world coming to? Better tell Quaglione to take out a FULL page Happy Easter ad in the Tablet next month

"Catholic Charities" across the USA is the largest NGO receiving Federal Tax dollars.

RESPONSE: THE "WHO ARE YOU --- AND WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ?????" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 6:18 PM"

IT'S LENT AND POSSIBLY YOU ARE CARB- AND CALORIE-STARVED; SO, I'LL CUT YOU SOME SLACK, AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT >>> MAYBE <<< IT WAS A TYPO, BUT I REALLY DO DOUBT IT.....

WHOEVER WAS TRYING TO HONK ON JQ AND HIS PUTTING ADS IN "THE TABLET," NEXT TIME SHOW THAT >>> YOU MIGHT KNOW A LITTLE, ABOUT WHICH WHAT YOU SEEM TO BE TALKING <<<

"Quaglione's [taking] out a FULL page Happy Easter ad in the Tablet next month...." would have completely missed the boat. Given production and publishing schedules, "next week" might have sounded plausible.

Do better in the future.....

AND TO JQ, I THINK A NICE EASTER AD IN OUR DIOCESAN NEWSPAPER MIGHT BE A GOOD THING FOR EVERYBODY.

BACKFILL: THE “IT’S WORTH EVERYBODY’S SEEING IT” EDITION

From this Independent Republican blog administrator: Sometimes completing the record is more important than being there first with the news. --- So, I’m giving everybody that regularly follows this blog, and I can get some pretty good leads on who most of you are, a chance to read this very apt LETTER TO THE EDITOR of “The Tablet”:

“March 14, 2018.... Without any rebuttal or defense from Bishop DiMarzio, Catholic Charities or The Tablet, you printed quotes from politicians like State Sen. Marty Golden, Assemblyman Abbate and Councilman Justin Brannan such as “The Sisters have no mercy”; “The Sisters are a disgrace to their Order”; “The neighborhood should petition the Holy Father to disband the Order.”... These politicians are disgraceful opportunists and The Tablet did nothing to defend the Sisters.... The Sisters of Mercy have spent more than 100 years working for the Diocese of Brooklyn caring for orphans, teaching the children of immigrants and serving the poor in myriad ways. They now deserve our trust, thanks and respect.... I have no idea what they plan to do with the property, but I do know that they need to plan carefully for the financial security of their community to continue their good works and care for their elderly and infirm.
LORETTA MONAGHAN-DUNN.... Bay Ridge” (See “The Tablet,” Letters to the Editor [https://thetablet.org/mercy-for-the-sisters/]).

FYI: In an effort at full disclosure, I might have known Loretta Monahan-Dunn back in the day, when I walked around quite a lot in Windsor Terrace and the South Slope. I do remember that she was a fine lady then, and I trust that she is a fine lady still.... Hmmm, Jim Dunn and Charlie Monaghan (the LM-D that I knew was related to both of them); weren’t they big with Joe Ferris and a prior generation of Carrolls in CBID. Ah yes, I knew them all a little bit; those were the days when we were all young and beautiful; and in spite of the efforts of CBID at the time, Ronald Reagan was getting elected and re-elected President and carrying some EDs in Windsor Terrace and lower Kensington !!!

Anonymous said...

It sounds like the Dunn lady wrote that letter in 1952 and forgot to get it to the mail box.

Caring for "orphans". Really ? Aint no more orphans since I last saw a bowery boys re-run. And i dont think the remnants of that building should be doing any financial planning for the "financial security" of the community.

Ms Dunn the church takes in a lot more than it gives. Take being the key element.

According to newspaper articles I read about a dozen seniors show up for grilled cheese. BFD

Old people and their free food, what's with that? Or not even free food, they'll go someplace just for the cheap food, do you remember Joe Major's?

The nuns' deal is more likely to improve the North end of Dyker Heights than all the poverty program stuff that Frances Vella and the other politicians like Martin Golden and Catholic Charities say they want to keep in there.

Anonymous said...

Gale, while you keep talking about nuns and Ms. Vella-Marrone, and saying not so funny things about a small part of Dyker Heights and several well-respected local politicians.
It looks like Pamela Harris is back on the scene and running for re-election in the 46th, but watch her lose this time in the Democratic primary.
That's all very bad news for two guys running for the state senate, Ross Barkan and Marty Golden, because Andrew Gounardes will be sticking with his announced run for the State Senate.
Get ready to say hello to our new state senator "Andy" Gounardes, who will edge out Marty Golden in November after an easy momentum building primary victory over Barkan. It will be just like Justin Brannan's win in 2017 over Golden's top staffer, John Quaglione, who was strongly backed by Golden.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 6:51 AM"

WELL, THANKS FOR THAT MASKED DEMOCRATIC VISITOR

Now, both ends of Dyker Heights have been covered in this comments thread.

That should keep Fran Vella-Marrone happy.....

during the construction of what will wind up as The Bay Ridge Manor II will the Long crime family be in charge of safety?

I saw Paul Atanasio walking around wearing a construction helmet

Anonymous said...

He was only on an oversight board, he never was on the site.

Anonymous said...

It was a very long time ago, but he was a TRUSTEE, and he hired both Mr. and Mrs. Marrone. Here's some of what it said in the NY Times, "... Paul Atanasio, a trustee of the construction authority, violated the authority's rules against nepotism by helping to secure a job for his secretary's husband to oversee the work at Public School 131, even though the man had little construction experience and had been fired from his last two supervisory jobs.... The report by the city's Department of Investigation excoriated the School Construction Authority for failures at almost every level to correct problems that led to the death of..."

Anonymous said...

hey 1:11 try reading your own explanation. Atanasio was on oversight board but never on the site. Thats the kind of oversight that ends up with a dead body.

Construction sites have accidents. The comments above are pure fiction.

Construction sites have more accidents when they're not properly supervised.
Certainly, you can't pretend that there's any defense for what Atanasio or Marrone did and didn't do twenty years ago.

Fake News

Anonymous said...

It's not news at all, anymore. Now, it's all in very well developed public record, including an official DOI report. Some people call referring back to that kind of information -- HISTORY.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of construction, does State Senator Golden back the building of what looks like it will be a residential hotel (you know, homeless people) at 92nd Street and 5th Avenue?

Anonymous said...

Homeless next to a subway that dont run

Anonymous said...

Justin Brannan has a cozy relationship with that developer. He pretended that the site wouldn’t be a homeless shelter and blasted those opposing it as racist. He even ginned his local wacko Bay Ridge supporters to hold a counter demonstration and five of them actually showed up. Only when the DOE permits went public did that fat turkey Justin have to admit what was going on and joined the Golden demonstration.

Things look like they are heading south very fast all over Marty and Justin land.

An earlier posting by GWM referred to the location of Nuns Home as "Buttfuck" territory. Gale says buttfuck, Trump says shithole, I say tomato you say D'Amato.

The point is 64th street and 14th avenue is a shit location. Always has been. The notion that the building should be landmarked so a couple of loser italians who should have moved to staten island decades ago can go and play cards is BS.

Property that close to Boro Park is not going to a fellow parishioner. Get my drift.

Thanks Ross.

Bishop DiMarzio is now going by his maiden name.

This would all be different if Larry Morrish was around.

I saw Ross Barko was measuring the drapes at Connors & Sullivan today. He must think if he wins he gets to keep Marty's office. Arleen Keating was there sharing a bottle of hooch with John Q who still can't believe he lost the council race to Capano

Q lost to capano?

TO MOST OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE --- SEE WHAT HAPPENS IF I LEAVE YOU ALL TO YOUR OWN IDEAS AND DEVICES.....

YOU ALL SEEM TO GO DOWN HILL BY DIFFERENT PATHS AND COURSES.....

I'll agree that maybe my language was a little courser than the little ones can handle --- and everybody knows that FVM is a "little one."

OMG !!!!! I swear to you that a little kid just walked by outside my window in the beautiful Fort Hamilton area of Bay Ridge singing that "Diarrhea" song --- the ill-mannered little bastard !!!!!

Does everyone remember when on another post not too long ago that Craig Eaton and his one or two supporters were commenting that Andrea Cats & the Cats family cant stand Golden and Eaton still close wit CAts..well look on twitter today both Andrea Cats and Marty Golden tweeted photo of them together today saying great things about each other..oh well craig..

Anonymous said...

To 3:40

Senator Golden is the only person I heard of.

Anonymous said...

the Brooklyn Paper article was stupid. A realtor complaining about greed. Anyone dumb enough to think the "Nuns" are involved in multi million dollar real estate deals is dumb enough to believe nuns still exist. They don't.

Property being sold to the highest bidder is not exactly scandal.

Anonymous said...

The scandal would be if the property wasnt sold to the highest bidder.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 3:40 PM"

MAYBE, MARTY WAS BEGGING ANDREA TO GET CHAIRMAN BOB TO BE NICER TO HIM.....

A Tweeted photo of Marty with Andrea Catsimatidis; hmmmmm !!!!!

Somebody is trying way too hard with that; and my guess, it ain't Andy-Girl.

Much more important, I think I haven't done a song in quite a while.....

"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah)
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah)
It don't mean a thing, all you got to do is sing (OMG, THAT MUST MEAN ME !!!)
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah)
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah)
It makes no diff'rence if it's sweet or it's hot
Just give that rhythm ev'rything you got
Oh, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah)
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah)

No one in the Cats family gonna forget how they viciously attacked John when he ran for Mayor in 2013 because Lhota threw the conservatives a few crums. They even took Mallitakis name off the door cause she endorsed Cats. This is their way of begging for forgiveness so Cats don’t bankroll Andrew.

Anonymous said...

1051..Andrea went to Marty's office..nice try

Anonymous said...

Yea Andrea went to Golden’s Office...wow! I guess she wanted to make sure they put Malliotakis name back on the door. Cats and Eaton are still close. But funny how Golden and Kassar have to grovel after all the shit they talked back then.

Anonymous said...

If Eaton so close with Cats , will he stop John and Andrea from backing Golden. .doubt it
