“The Bright Shiny Thing” — Does Gene Berardelli’s quest to do a victory lap around Joseph Hayon step on Berardelli’s other duties — Does the same question apply to Russell Gallo ?

Just take a look at Gene Berardelli’s take on the Joseph Hayon * ”TRAGEDY” (See “RESET THE CLOCK! WHERE IS BERARDELLI'S  JUDGEMENT   —   WHERE IS BERARDELLI'S  SENSE OF FAIRNESS   —   WHERE IS BERARDELLI'S PROFESSIONALISM  ?  ?  ?

Ask yourself these questions:  

Is this the kind of piece about an accused person that should be broadcast by an attorney, like Berardelli, who is admitted to practice law in the State of New York ? 

Is this the kind of piece that should be broadcast by the Law Chairman of the Brooklyn Republican Party  —  who, as an attorney, had multiple close dealings with Mr. Hayon in his capacity as Law Chairman ? 

Is this the kind of piece that one member of the Brooklyn GOP leadership team should be writing about another member of that team ?



Since his arrest, the most virulent attacks on Joseph Hayon have been at the hands of Gene Berardelli and his sidekick, Russell Gallo.  One has to ask why ? The answer is quite simple – read on....


NEVER FORGET  —   HAYON – GALLO – AND BERARDELLI HAVE A HISTORY INSIDE THE BROOKLYN GOP
Joseph Hayon, Gene Berardelli and Russell Gallo have quite a history together. As far as I know that history is all inside the realm of politics. More specifically, Joseph Hayon, Russell Gallo and Gene Berardelli have a long and storied history inside of the Brooklyn GOP and its affiliated organizations and activities.

For the longest time, this relationship appeared to the whole world, or at least to that tiny part that noticed, to be one of extreme antagonism. The reality is not nearly so straightforward. In fact at the 2013 Republican County Convention both Law Chairman Berardelli and Party Secretary Gallo were instrumental in elevating Joseph Hayon to the Brooklyn Republican Executive Committee in a post in charge of the Kings County GOP’s community outreach.

In spite of that, Gene and Russell were often openly jealous of Hayon’s success inside the Brooklyn GOP lines of authority and outside on blogs like my own and others.  One of the comments that followed  Mr. Berardelli’s post that I cited above is very telling in that regard.   Here it is:   “Anonymous  May 25, 2015 at 7:30 PM  –  Hey Gene remember when Gatemouth thought Hayon was more honest and classier than you? The best revenge is living well. Good for you and Russell....”

Everybody has to know this   —   In all of their reaction to Joseph Hayon, with Gene Berardelli and Russell Gallo, the “kiddie porn” charges are just a catalyst.

You are so right. Hayon being arrested for kiddie porn proves just how despicable Gallo and Berardelli truly are. Hayon should be praised and this two should be tarred and feathered.

They are especially crafty though. Somehow they elevated Hayon in 2013 to set him up for this fall from grace even before they were elected at the convention. They even got Golden to not run anyone against Hayon at the convention.

You were the smart one though. You didn't vote for any of those bums cause you boycotted. Well played sir.

BRILLIANT !

That's one of Russell Gallo's and Gene Berardelli's favorites [it's actually in one of GB's last posts, crediting RG] -- It has to bug them that it should be used with reference to Joseph Hayon even after all of this stuff has happened.

The funny thing is that I was about to include that very quote from TR in my post above; but I thought I might be rubbing salt in the open wounds, so I relented.

It is quite a sad state of affairs for the Brooklyn GOP that any of these buffoons get to play important roles in the local party leadership. Nocera is just silly. Berardelli and Gallo have shown themselves to be desperate buffoons who will do anything to get attention for themselves at the expense of the party. Chris Mega and Rosemarie O'Keefe must be rolling in their graves.

To "Anonymous... at 11:30 AM" you've got a few things out of whack....

First, it's "Gale" or "GM" --- there's no "JM" on this blog.

Second, I don't think that Hayon should be praised at all --- those days are passed. Nothing that I have posted since word of Hayon's arrest should in any way be construed as praise of him in any way.

Hope fully Gene will stay far away from any class for instructing people how to petition.

He singlehandedly lost more county committee for Eaton in 2013 by sheer incompetence than there were at the meeting. Those of us who were there for Golden found some small comfort in the knowledge that Craig had to hire outside counsel for the convention, because he knew how lacking Gene was.

And last year, every single Republican Judicial delegate and alternate that had been painstakingly petitioned for by hundreds of volunteers around Brooklyn got disqualified from having their nominees on the ballot because trusty Gene missed the deadline to file.

What makes what you did different than whatever Gene posted? Is it simply because you disagree? You may moderate and censor your blog but you will not censor the individual or moderate the party.

There is something to be said for simply taking one's punches. The fact is, a man has been arrested for, by his own admission, viewing child pornography. Gene and Russ have long said that Hayon is a bad egg and his legal issues prove it. Rather than try and turn the tables against Gene and Russ, there are some here coughGlenncough who would do well to remain silent. Why on earth would you do or say anything that can be perceived as being supportive of Hayon?If you can't admit it when you are wrong, then at the minimum, don't give the world more reasons to question your choice in associates with your puerile complaints.

A horrible event occurred last week where the despicable Hayon was unmasked for being a far worse person and monster than even his harshest detractors suspected or ever alleged. This is a tragic event when you consider the victims as well as his wife, children, and other family. As Brooklyn Republicans we should have done a lot of soul searching and looked inwardly about how something like this could have taken place. Scary thing though, how two renowned blowhards with official positions in the Kings County GOP Gene and Russ, decided to quickly seize this terrible event and use it for personal gain by attacking their rivals within the Kings County GOP. It should be stated clearly that even before we found out that Hayon was arrested for child pornography, he was a highly questionable character who had no business having any title or role in the County Organization. That should have been crystal clear to Eaton and everyone else around him and to be frank Hayon has not been the only person Nocera was wrong about. That being stated, the ambulance chasing manner in which Berardelii and Gallo seized this opportunity to smear Nocera is appalling. Somehow going after Nocera wasn't enough and they dragged Marty Golden And Michael Grimm into it. As if that wasn't enough they are now attacking the creator of this blog and threatening to reveal his or her identity. Gene and Russ need to calm down and stop working ever so feverishly to destroy what is left of the Republican Party in Brooklyn.

RESPONSE: THE "LMAO" EDITION

What a bunch of simplistic sophistry posing as reasonable debate -- go ahead keep trying to defend a couple of cyber-bullies like Berardelli and Gallo with some vague "free-speech, free-thought" arguments. (BTW, this blog is almost impeccable in allowing the free exchange of rational arguments, clearly expressed. On the other hand, feckless Clinton chaff or the rants where the slurred speech comes across in the writing get the quick dump into the dust bin.)

For the record, Hayon wasn't arrested for being "... a bad egg." Neither Gallo or Berardelli ever called him out for trafficking in "kiddie porn" any time before last week; so stop the BS. If everything else said about Hayon were any more than nothing, then how was it that Berardelli and Gallo supported or acquiesced in Hayon's elevation to the Brooklyn GOP Executive Committee while they presided at that 2013 convention?

That anybody thinks that Nocera and I need to take any punches, have to take a few blows in the head from a Brooklyn phone book first. If the idea about the punches for GN and me persists, repeat the phone book therapy.

Glenn and I have almost handled things perfectly vis a vis the Hayon matter. On the other hand Gallo and Berardelli tried to use it for some silly and screwed-up score-settling vendetta. They needed the tables turned on them. (By my count this one makes it about 500 times since 2009 --- those guys almost never ever get it right --- historically they made people like Nocera, Hayon and Jonathan Judge look like Nobel Laureates by comparison).

But you did, and with it comes people who vehemently disagree with your perspective of this incident and view Glenn's inclusion on this issue not as cyberbullying, but the underlining of an unsavory record of association.

"In 2010, Mr. Hayon ran unsuccesfully for the assembly against Mr. Cymbrowitz. In 2012, when I ran against Mr. Cymbrowitz (I am a Republican and have served on the State Committee since 2005) Mr. Hayon did not support me or even sign my petition to get on the ballot. Instead he actively supported a Democrat named Akselrod who wound up receiving less than 22% of the vote on election day.

Fast forward to 2014 and Mr. Hayon lobbied the Brooklyn GOP Executive Committee (somehow he is on the County Committee and Executive Board as a Republican!?) to give our line to, wait for it, Democrat- Ben Akselrod!

Did Mr. Hayon try to recruit an actual Republican to run for the seat? No. Did Mr. Hayon seek to have Mr. Akselrod register as a Republican or at least pledge to do so after the election? No.

So what gives?

Joseph Hayon is a RINO and a political whore; among other things...

In 2013 Mr. Hayon actively supported Democrat Erick Salgado for mayor of New York City. There were two Republicans in the race but Hayon turned his back on both of them.

Mr. Hayon does not support Congressman Michael Grimm or State Senator Marty Golden; both Republicans running for reelection this year.

I still live in the 45th Assembly District and I wanted to alert my fellow Republicans to the scam being played on them by Mr. Hayon and his non-Republican buddies.

Do not vote for Ben Akselrod this November. He is and always will be a Democrat!

And as for Mr. Hayon, he is and always will be________.

My employment prohibits me from commenting on Mr. Hayon's situation, and I'm don't think that I would if I could. People on the social left may or may not be entitled to their ideological schaudefreude, and those on every place on the spectrum who've dealt with Mr. Hayon politically may be entitled to their personal spite, but I think that, whatever the facts, being morose is also a valid response.

That being said, and that perhaps being sad, I think it should be made clear that Gatemouth's comment comparing the relative classiness of Hayon and Berardelli was solely in reference to how each responded to Lew Fidler's taking ill during the Fidler/Storobin Senate race.
