Three days into his campaign — Rand Paul beating Hillary Clinton in key states — Close behind in others

Big blow to Hillary’s “Inevitability Narrative”  —   Pollster says trend goes back to FEBRUARY

"Ominous for Hillary Clinton is the broad scope of the movement today compared to her showing in Quinnipiac University's mid-February survey. It isn't just one or two Republicans who are stepping up; it's virtually the entire GOP field that is running better against her....”                                               —  Quinnipiac Polling

Hillary’s E-mails flaps and flops, and President Obama’s overall job performance making Hillary’s way forward much tougher that she and HER PEOPLE would have thought

A new poll has found that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's has a small lead against potential Republican presidential candidates, but it is shrinking in key swing states just days after Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul declared his candidacy for the 2016 race.

RAND PAUL ALREADY BEATING CLINTON IN SOME KEY STATES

According to a Quinnipiac University Poll, conducted March 29-April 7 of roughly 900 voters in each state, in Colorado and Iowa Paul has a small lead. Specifically, the poll found that:
In Colorado, Paul would get 44 percent compared to 41 percent for Clinton.
In Iowa, Paul would win 43 percent compared to 42 percent for Clinton.
In Virginia, Clinton has a lead of 47 percent support compared to 43 percent for Paul.
(See “April 9, 2015 - Paul Blooms As Clinton Wilts In Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll Finds” by Quinnipiac Staff, 4/9/15, Quinnipiac Blog [http://www.quinnipiac.edu/news-and-events/quinnipiac-university-poll/2016-presidential-swing-state-polls/release-detail?ReleaseID=2184]).

As his formal statement of the obvious, Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll said,  "These numbers are a boost for U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky as he formally launches his campaign...."

OMINOUS FOR HILLARY'S PROSPECTS GOING FORWARD

The Quinippiac release goes on to state that “... [f]ormer Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's lead is wilting against leading Republican presidential candidates in three critical swing states, Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, and she finds herself in a close race with U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky in each state, according to a Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll released today. In head-to-head matchups, every Republican candidate effectively ties her in Colorado and almost all Republicans effectively tie her in Iowa. ***  Secretary Clinton has lost ground in almost every matchup in Colorado and Iowa since a February 18 Swing State Poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University. The Swing State Poll focuses on key states in the presidential election.... [With a slight blip for Hillary in Virginia, v]oters in each state say Clinton is not honest and trustworthy. Her overall favorability has dropped significantly in Colorado and Iowa, while Virginia is unchanged....”

Rand Paul got very testy and hot under the collar when being questioned by NBC's Savannah Guthrie. He apparently has difficulty responding to intelligent female reporters. Sounds like he has a woman problem. He'll crash and burn soon.

RESPONSE TO "ANONYMOUS...AT 12:05 PM, ABOVE: THE "THAT'S OLD NEWS -- AND WE ALREADY DEALT WITH THAT IN AN EARLIER COMMENT" EDITION

THE SAVANNAH GUTHRIE THING IS WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT RAND PAUL — I CALL IT: “TAKING NO CRAP FROM SOME SWEET YOUNG THING WHO’S OVER HER HEAD”

In my earlier comment I said, “On his first day on the campaign trail, which was largely a big media day, the GOP’s newest candidate has shown that he does not suffer fools gladly, even if some people think that they are important news personalities or arbiters of how candidates need to answer questions....” (See my April 9, 2015 at 12:21 AM comment “UPDATE: THE “RAND PAUL MIGHT BE THE REAL CHANGE THAT AMERICA HAS BEEN WAITING FOR” EDITION...” to my Tuesday, April 7, 2015 blog post, “And Today It Will Be — RAND PAUL”).

So there is no mistake that I specifically included the Savannah Guthrie thing, I also wrote, “FIRST DAY ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL — RAND PAUL FIRMLY PUTS THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA IN ITS PLACE — MEN, WOMEN AND CERTAINLY WHATEVERS *** PUSHES BACK ON HANNITY — WON’T TAKE ANY CUTESY CRAP FROM SAVANNAH GUTHRIE OR FROM AN AP REPORTER NOT SATISFIED WITH PAUL’S FIVE-MINUTE ANSWER ON THE ABORTION ISSUE....”

This is a heads-up to Mrs. Clinton that she had better watch her step; or else Bill will have to jump in to things to defend her from that big bad bully, Rand Paul.

"Rand Paul... apparently has difficulty responding to intelligent female reporters...."

But that isn't what happened. Paul put Guthrie in her place for editorializing. Merely being a female reporter doesn't automatically make her intelligent, nor make her questions sacred.

But don't worry, he-man Chuck Todd leaped to Savannah's defense....

And that is why Rand Paul will never be president - he thinks he has a right to put a woman a female reporter "in her place". That is male chauvinism defined. Savannah Guthrie is more intelligent and knowledgable than Paul on the issues and he was intimidated. He now looks like the fool that he is. Rand Paul is a condescending sexist and obviously you are too - as well as Gale. Try to gain some maturity.

"... in her place..." where did that come from?

And what place is that?

Anonymous said...

That's a good question, but to whom is it addressed? And why?

Too many contemporary women simply have no place in this world whatsoever.

And whose fault is that?

Another good question....

No, no, no. Rand Paul didn't put Savannah Guthrie in her place for being a woman reporter, he put a reporter in their place for editorializing in an overly complex question, which contained presumptions that begged on several issues.
