The Mar-a-Lago FBI "SMASH and GRAB" is a much bigger scandal than the Watergate "SECOND RATE BURGLERY" ever was

The only question is whether it takes down our one and only, once and future legitimate President, Donald Trump  ---  or that senile cipher, and Democrat sock puppet usurper, the current so-called President, Joe Biden

Right now, a very high percentage of  >>>  likely voters  <<<  believe Biden is using the FBI as his "personal Gestapo"   ---  this number has increased in the wake of the FBI's raid on President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate

And quite apart from Biden's recent politicizing the DOJ & FBI, a majority of Americans don't seem to particularly respect the FBI in the way that they used to, or like the way the FBI has been doing its business  ---  even before Biden became POTUS

Also, many in the FBI most likely would have urged caution at raiding a President's home  >>>  for fear of the operation going  "tits up"

Nonetheless, President Trump turned up the heat on the Bureau by clearly implying that the FBI's Mar-a-Lago raiders were not just attacking him, but all Americans, and that they were "... destroying our country".....

According to the most recent survey done by Gallup on the FBI, public trust in the Bureau has fallen in recent years. In 2019, 57 percent of the adults surveyed said that the FBI was doing either an “excellent” or a “good” job; by 2021 this statistic fell to 44 percent. That change mostly came from a drop in trust among self-identified Republicans, who showed their numbers to have fallen from 46 percent to 26 percent of general approval of the FBI over those two years. On the other hand, now, only about one-third of Democrats either, disrespect, distrust or disbelieve in what the FBI does and/or says.

Another recent report on a Rasmussen survey said that 53% of likely voters agreed that  >>>  "...  there is a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI that are using the FBI as Joe Biden’s personal Gestapo..."
That recent very low esteem for the FBI, especially among Republisans is because  >>>  the fingerprints of a "Deep State" operation at the DOJ and FBI are all over the August 8th raid at Mar-a-Lago.  One key indicator of that is >>>  the same FBI phalanx that conducted the bogus Russia collusion probe while Trump was President is still at work, even though Trump has vacated the White House.....   And guess what !!! This time that nefarious FBI cadre is at the center of the investigation of President Trump's handling of classified material at his Mar-a-Lago estate; and now it seems they might be possibly looking at other locations, as well.....
At Thursday’s proceedings in a federal court in Florida, which didn't directly involve Trump and/or his legal team in any way, the Justice Department’s top counterintelligence official, Jay Bratt, repeatedly emphasized that the investigation into the former president’s handling of classified White House records  >>> “... is in its early stages.” <<<   Bratt also warned that revealing new details about the investigation could heighten the threats against those involved in the search. In his comments to the court, Bratt noted that two FBI agents who were identified in right-wing media outlets for signing property receipts connected to the search had subsequently faced threats. The DOJ also argued that the warrant needed to remain sealed “...  because the integrity of the ongoing investigation might be compromised, and evidence might be destroyed...” [However, one does have to wonder, what additional evidence related to the possible crimes mentioned in the August 5th search warrant remains at large after the FBI conducted its raid on Mar-a-Lago on August 8th.]

The judge presiding at the hearing did not seem to be moved. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, who signed the search warrant on Aug. 5th, which authorized the Mar-a-Lago raid on August 8th, ordered prosecutors to propose redactions to the affidavit supporting the warrant by next week, indicating that he was skeptical of the Justice Department’s arguments to keep those supporting documents under seal. “As I ruled from the bench at the conclusion of the hearing, I find that on the present record the government has not met its burden of showing that the entire affidavit should remain sealed,” Reinhart wrote in a brief order, which was posted on Thursday, August 18th. He set a deadline of the following Thursday for prosecutors to prepare and propose their redactions to the affidavit in support of the search warrant.

The full roster of FBI agents that intruded into Trump's home and unlawfully took President Trump's property needs to be diclosed to the American people

Despite the DOJ's repeated claims about a surge in violent threats against FBI agents and DOJ officials from Americans outraged about the raid on Trump's house, sometime after the hearing on Thursday in front of Magistrate Judge Reinhart, one of the lawyers on the team representing President Trump in these matters pushed back very hard. What the Trump lawyer said was that ---  in the wake of the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, CCTV of the search should be released. and the identities of the FBI agents shown in it to have carried out the raid should be identified for everybody to know who they are.

OTHER DEEP STATE FBI ACTORS STILL INVOLVED IN KEY POLITICAL CASES BEING "INVESTIGATED" BY THE FBI

FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed in congressional testimony earlier this month that "... a number of..." the former "Crossfire Hurricane" team members are still employed at the bureau pending their disciplinary reviews.

According to FBI whistleblowers, one key member of the "Russia Hoax" - "Crossfire Hurricane" team, Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten, is still doing his dirty work at the Bureau.  He's quite involved in the probe of the abandoned laptop of President Biden's son Hunter Biden. The FBI whistleblowers have alleged that  >>>  Auten helped quash the Hunter Biden laptop probe by labeling derogatory information as "Russian disinformation."  In 2019, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred Auten for a disciplinary review for his cutting corners in the vetting of the very controversial and dubious "Steele Dossier, since revealed to have been commissioned by Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign.  That bogus dossier was used to obtain warrants to spy on the Trump campaign and various individuals. Avvording to some reporters, Auten allegedly allowed information he knew to be false to slip into warrant affidavits, and that mislead the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court to issue multiple warrants in cases involving the "Russia Hoax".....

Many Trump supporters in the FBI and intelligence community worry that Auten, who is regarded as a top FBI expert on Russia and nuclear warfare, will be part of any team analysing the boxes of documents that agents seized from Trump's home on August 8th. That team's task wll be to help determine if any of the alleged classified material might have been compromised, posing a national security risk.

Also many in the FBI community are certain that more than either the U.S. Attorney General, other high DOJ appointees, or those in the White House conducting the day-to-day liaison with the FBI & DOJ  ---  it would have been agents at the FBI that tried to hold the line against any raid of the Trump residence at Mar-a-Lago, because it would be the FBI in the crosshairs if the operation were to go "tits up".....

Trump issues a stern rebuke of the FBI itself as "...destroy[ers of] our country in connection with its part in the raid on Mar-a-Lago and other activities  ---  “Never in our Country’s history has there been a time where law enforcement has been so viciously and violently involved in the life and times of politics in our Nation”

President Trump criticized the FBI for being “viciously and violently involved in the life and times of politics in our Nation” in posts that he made on his TRUTH Social platform on Friday, August 19th. President Trump's post continued with this  ---  “Even in light of the fact that they violated the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the Mueller Witch Hunt, lied many times before Congress, and on many occasions put out fraudulent information before the FISA Court, they continue. They have no shame.... They are destroying our Country!”

A BIT OF BACKFILL: THE "OMINOUS ARTICLE IN POLITICO" EDITION

A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO --- POLITICO DID A PIECE THAT PRETTY MUCH COVERED THE SUBSTANCE OF MANY ITEMS CONTAINED IN OUR MAIN POST ABOVE..... NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT WAS MORE LEFTISH AND ANTI-TRUMP IN ITS OUTLOOK & EMPHASIS

PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT BITS OF NEWS IN IT WERE IN ITS PRIMARY & ULTIMATE PARAGRAPHS.....

".... WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Donald Trump entered Thursday demanding answers about the basis for the FBI search of his private residence and calling for a swift end to the investigation. Instead, the former president got few new details about the probe and a piece of unwelcome news to boot: the feds are just getting started.... As the hearing was getting underway, a group of pro-Trump protesters began circling the area outside the courthouse. One man, driving a red pick-up truck, had a “Trump 2024” flag mounted to the bed. Police officers from the Department of Homeland Security were guarding the outer perimeter of the court building." (See "Trump’s legal woes enter yet another protracted phase -- The former president demanded transparency around the search of Mar-a-Lago. He didn’t get quite that. Nor did he get closure" by By NICHOLAS WU, ANDREW DESIDERIO, KYLE CHENEY and JOSH GERSTEIN, 08/18/2022, Politico/ Legal [https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/18/doj-battles-to-keep-warrant-details-secret-00052669]).

Just remember, whether an article is ominous about this stuff in a pro-Trump way, or in an anti-Trump way, or in some mythical right down the middle neutral way >>> if it's "OMINOUS" --- it's ominous.....

MEANWHILE --- THIS: THE "THREAT OF/FOR CIVIL WAR IS GROWING ACROSS THE USA" EDITION

ACADEMICS ON BOTH THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT SEE TRENDS INDICATING A RISING RISK OF CIVIL WAR IN THESE UNITED STATES NOT SEEN SINCE 1860

In a 2019 article in the Washington Post a headline proclaimed that --- “In America, talk turns to something not spoken of for 150 years: Civil war.” The story referenced, among others, conservative Stanford University historian and Fox News contributor Victor Davis Hanson, who had asked in a widely published and quoted essay that --- “How, when, and why has the United States now arrived at the brink of a veritable civil war?” Yet another Washington Post story reported how Republican Congressman Steve King recently posted a meme warning that red states have “8 trillion bullets” in the event of a civil war. And a poll conducted [in 2019] by Rasmussen Reports found that 31 percent of probable US voters surveyed believed “it’s likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years.”

According to a 2019 report from Boston University --- ".... Some historians have been saying there was a similar political divide in 1860 [as in 2019] to what we’re seeing today. Do you agree?... There may be a few historians who think the divide is similar, but [the BU author of the report opined that] most would say we’re looking at different patterns in our political divisions, although the tendency toward heated and extreme political rhetoric might be similar [to immediately prior to the Civil War in 1860] The inability to find a political middle ground, certainly in the federal government, seems also to be similar.

Things have only become more heated since the FBI-DOJ raid on Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago, (See "FBI search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago reignites conservative calls for a civil war in the US" by Camila DeChalus, 8/9/2022, Insider/ Home/ Politics [https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-supporters-want-a-civil-war-after-fbi-raid-of-mar-a-lago-2022-8#] wherein the sub-headlines virtually shouted this "alarm" --- "Trump supporters are calling for a civil war after the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago... Experts say that political violence will heighten in the US ahead of the midterm elections... [and] Republican lawmakers have also entertained that idea of states seceding from US...."

Be careful, Gail, an August 12th DHS bulletin, obtained by Project Veritas, told local law enforcement officials across the country that the Mar-a-Lago raid has prompted calls for violence against federal law enforcement and other government officials. The intent of the bulletin is to assist "law enforcement" in "... deterring, preventing, preempting, or responding to terrorist attacks against the United States...." by people like you.

According to the intelligence bulletin distributed jointly by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, American citizens who view the FBI's raid on Donald Trump's estate with skepticism "fit the profile of a potential domestic violent extremist."

Neither DHS nor the FBI seem to think that, after the Russia hoax, the Whitmer kidnapping debacle, and the burying of the Biden influence-peddling case, any real law-abiding American citizen might look upon the FBI's activities at Mar-a-Lago with any kind of criticism or skepticism whatsoever.

RESPONSE: THE "PERHAPS, RERHAPS, PERHAPS !!!" EDITION

Maybe, when all of us find out all the facts, if ever we do, this independent GOP blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island might conclude that the FBI raid on Trump’s Florida home was justified, and carried out according to constitutional standards, Hoyle, and all of the applicable Kosher rules. Until that time, if it should ever occur, we will reserve our right to question the integrity of the DOJ and FBI officials, who have more than demonstrated their willingness to behave like cheap crooks and political hacks for the "Deep State." And in this instance of the Mar-a-Lago raid, apparently to abuse the power with which the FBI and DOJ have been invested, solely to benefit and protect the Biden Administration, and to punish the leading political opponent of that Biden Administration, President Donald Trump.

Readers of this blog need to remember the DOJ's own inspector general, Michael Horowitz, issued a 568-page report on the events surrounding the 2016 presidential election, and the FBI's involvement in that election. In his report, Horowitz blasted FBI Director Comey and others inside the FBI for “departing so clearly and dramatically from FBI and Department norms,” and in so doing undermined the perception of the FBI and DOJ as “fair administrators of justice.” What is coming out about the FBI's Mar-a-Lago raid, is that it is being directly connected to documents that President Trump had kept about the FBI's operation "Crossfire Hurricane," which had been aimed at Trump, and certain Trump supporters leading up to the 2016 election.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "KEY ENDORSEMENT FOR THE FBI, DOJ & AG MERRICK GARLAND" EDITION

PENCIL-NECK ADAM SCHIFF SAYS HE'S FINE WITH ALL OF IT --- NO CRITICISM --- NO SKEPTICISM

AS HE SEES IT --- UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, IT'S ALL VERY APPROPRIATE

ABC anchor Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” opened with this: “You asked for a damage assessment and a classified briefing from the intelligence community last week regarding the raid on Mar-a-Lago, [and] the search warrant on Mar-a-Lago. Have you heard back from the intelligence community? And do you have any concerns about the potential for this precedent, a search of a president’s house, to be abused?”

California Democrat Representative Adam Schiff answered that >>> he was “confident” Attorney General Merrick Garland took every precaution, and that he acted appropriately in the investigation resulting in a raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

The congressman generally derided as "pencil neck" concluded that --- ".... “In terms of the precedent, I’m confident Merrick Garland took every precaution, took every effort short of the search warrant to obtain those documents. And if the public reporting is correct that Trump lawyers asserted in an affidavit that they had given all these documents up, and the Justice Department had good reason to believe that wasn’t true, then it justifies this means of getting the information, the execution of a search warrant. Yes, it’s a very powerful precedent. At the same time, I’m confident that it was used appropriately given the circumstances.”

The Justice Dept states they dont want affidavit unsealed because they have an informant. That means the FBI is spying on the opposition.

Trump had documents that could only be reviewed by people with top security clearance. But FBI agents dont have top security clearance.

The Justice Department and FBI official people are talking about are political appointees. Are we supposed to think political appointees arent political? Politics is how they got the job.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "GOVERNOR OF NH CALLS GARLAND AND BIDEN 'MORONS' " EDITION

THE PRESIDENT AND THE AG WERE BOTH SURPRISED AND UNPREPARED FOR THE BACKLASH FROM MOST REPUBLICANS --- "... THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY BLOWN IT..."

Joe Biden and Merrick Garland, the U.S. Attorney General, were called "morons" for the way they handled the FBI's raid on Mar-a-Lago residence, according to New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu. Sununu was critical of those top Democrat officials for "not responding to Republican outrage" to the FBI raid President Trump's home.

Governor Sununu saidthat --- "I think the biggest issue is what we've all been talking about: the fact that when you're going to go into a former president's house, yet clearly, Biden and Garland, they had no strategy, no anticipation about saying, 'We're going to take unprecedented action so we better have an unprecedented plan for disclosure.'... And the fact that we're weeks in now, they're not showing any cards, they're not showing anything. The lack of transparency, it's infuriating. And that is where they have absolutely blown it, and that’s where they’ve lost the trust of the American people because it just looks political."

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "AT LEAST A FEW DEMOCRATS GET IT RIGHT ABOUT THIS" EDITION

FBI & DOJ NEED TO BE OPEN AND TRANSPARENT ABOUT THE TRUMP RAID

Yesrtday on “CNN Newsroom,” California Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna told Poppy Harlow that the Justice Department is taking a “too aggressive [ ] position” in trying to keep the Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit out of the public eye, and that the DOJ had “an obligation to get all of the information out there that they can" because there is a former president involved. Khanna went to say --- "... Attorney General Garland needs — and the Justice Department should be as transparent.... And so, my view is get it out there, get out there why this took place. Let’s make sure that all the facts are out there. I have confidence that Attorney General Garland wouldn’t have taken a step like this if he didn’t think it was absolutely necessary. He understands the stakes, but I’m always for transparency, and if there are doubts that can be quelled, let’s have everything get out there.”
