The Epi-phenomenon that says it all about the current state of the Brooklyn GOP in 2021

Faced with the two leading candidates endorsed to run for Mayor on the GOP line by the five NYC County Republican organizations  ---  Fernando Mateo and Curtis Sliwa  ---  both of whom had substantial support among the Brooklyn Republican Executive Committee  ---  there were Kings County Republican Executive Committee members who openly announced that they would more likely be voting for the Democrat  nominee in November than the GOP mayoral standard bearer

It seems that some of  the GOP's older hands see the 2021 race for Mayor as a contest among various clowns in a circus

Meanwhile, Liam Ambrose McCabe is assembling an independent GOP petitioning effort on behalf of Fernando Mateo, the candidate who was rejected by a vote of the Brooklyn GOP Committee

It's great to see the Brooklyn GOP leadership out front and so inspiring to the troops.....

.....  And what exactly might I mean when I say that ?????

Neither Ted Ghorra nor his hair piece are loved or feared in the Brooklyn GOP or anyplace else. At his meetings people can say some crazy stuff, but mostly they just look at the people who aren't there.

I'm watching the hearings on TV about Jan 6th and everyone wants to know why the National Guard wasn't responding like a 911 call. I don't get it.
Capitol police is over 2000 cops and DC police is over 4000 cops. 6000 cops can't protect a building?

Where is Alexandra?

Isn't it in Virginia, right across the river from Washington, DC?

I don't care who runs against Boss Brannan in November, I am going to write in Ted Gorra's wig as my #1 and 2

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "CITY COUNCIL FOR SOUTHWEST BROOKLYN" EDITION

HERE'S THE NEWS >>> THERE AIN'T NO NEWS >>> THE BROOKLYN GOP HAS JUST AS GOOD A SHOT ELECTING A REPRESENTATIVE FROM NEW SOUTH WALES AS THEY DO IN THE 43RD COUNCIL DISTRICT IN BROOKLYN

Not long ago, this is how one local wag put it to me --- ".... Marty did a good job of pulling the ladder up and taking it with him when he left.... There is no real local GOP.... [When it comes to the City Council in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and lower Bensonhurst, it will be] a true battle of the have-nots...."

The Republicans and Conservatives have had their noses pressed to the windows of Democrat City Council Members for almost a whole generation now (since 2002 when Marty Golden left for the State Senate; and Rosemarie O'Keefe couldn't hold the seat as the lone Republican in a special election against seven Democrats).

But now is now, and maybe post-1/6/2021, the candidate that openly voiced support for QAnon, Mark Szuszkiewicz, would make the race interesting [maybe, he could even carry a war lance and wear a buffalo headdress] --- he's a proven vote-getter, and I think he lives in the district [tough to tell, Coney Island/ Bay Ridge; it's all so confusing].

Diapers are expensive so Liam will most likely be attaching his busted red wagon to the Fernando Matteo Runaway Train. This will set the stage for a "Battle Royale" between McCabe and The Artist Formerly Known As Robert Capano who'll be supporting Sliwa untill he is ordered to support Catsimatidis. The question here then quickly becomes where oh where does this leave John F. Quaglione ?? Will Quagz and Mark "QAnon" Suzkiewicz battle it out for the chance to loose to Brannan in November ?? Will Quaglione run and loose for a third time ?? All of this and more are but some of questions being asked aloud on the dark and dank wood paneled second floor of the Collyer's Mansion at 486 78Th Street where it smells like old farts and cheap Scotch

RESPONSE: THE "FAR FROM A 'BATTLE ROYALE' " EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:55 PM"

ANY JOUSTING OR JOSTLING BETWEEN MCCABE AND CAPANO IS A VERY "DOWN CARD" BOUT NOWADAYS --- AND AS FOR "Q" [NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH "QANON SUZKIEWICZ"] HE'S BEEN RUNNING FASTER TO GO SLOWER WITH EVERY MOVE HE'S MADE SINCE 2017

To steal a title from John Kennedy Toole this crew is very much a "Confederacy of Dunces," and who is ahead, as opposed to who is behind, is usually a matter of perspective rather than a matter of real advantage.....

There is no future GOP in Brooklyn. Marty made sure of that. Liam lost the last few if any supporters he had after last week breakdown in front of the committee and Ghorra admitted he has no support when begging for a year extension without elections. All Marty doing now is deciding if he should take over officially and be the new chairman next year or if he calls Gerry and they find a new puppet.

Is there any present GOP in Brooklyn, or will that need to be determined presently?

Any questions about the future of the mythical "Brooklyn G.O.P." should be directed to the Collyer's Mansion at 486 78th Street where it smells like old Scotch and cheap farts. Lord Kassar finally got his wish and out-lived them all. Revenge is indeed a dish best served cold at the Bay Ridge Manor. Stay thirsty, my friends!

Absolutely wrong! At that location it's definitely a miasma of old farts and cheap Scotch.

At least a couple of new names are being put forward as part of a new team of GOP State Committee people and District Leaders in the 46th AD and it isn't Bay Ridge centric.

FLASH UPDATE: THE "ANOTHER "GIULIANI" IS HEARD FROM" EDITION

THIS REPORT ON THE "DAILY CALLER" IS A REAL RIP-SNORTER.....

SEEMS THAT RUDY GIULIANI'S DAUGHTER DID A "VANITY FAIR" FEATURE EXTOLLING THE VIRTUES OF THREESOMES TO HER OVERALL PANSEXUAL EXPERIENCE

You gotta love kids --- but they grow up so fast.....

First, the dripping hair dye >>> and now this. What will it be next in the perils of Rudy ?????

Who knows, maybe somebody looking to bight the heads off of chickens will sue Rudy for causing all the problems on January 6th >>> somebody like, let's say Eric Swalwell....

Quality of Life has truly gone down in Bayridge. It is such a shame. That is why John Q is staying active in local politics and trying to keep a hold. I think he's got one more race in him. This time, a winner! You know Q almost had it last time around, and he is paying close attention I can promise you that much!

To 1:04 AM: if Johnnie Quags is "keeping a hold" on local politics with an iron fist like you claim then why is he not seeking re-election to his district leader post ? The plot thickness

RESPONSE: THE "DONUTS & HOLES" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 1:04 AM" & "... AT 9:38 AM"

I DON'T KNOW OR CARE WHO EITHER OF YOU ANONYMOUS FOLKS MIGHT BE, BUT NEITHER OF YOU SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON JOHN "Q" [EVEN IF ONE OF YOU MIGHT BE JOHN "Q" --- AND WOULDN'T THAT MAKE YOU "QANON" AS WELL] FOR MORE THAN FOUR YEARS NOW, ALTOGETHER TOO MUCH GOP ATTENTION HAS BEEN LAVISHED UPON BOB CAPANO, LIAM MC CABE AND JOHN QUAGLIONE --- THEY DANCED THEIR DANCE IN 2017, JOHN Q GOT INTO THE FINALS, BUT IN THE END JUSTIN B CAME AWAY WITH THE MIRROR-BALL TROPHY --- SINCE THEN, THE ROOF COMPLETELY FELL IN ON THE BROOKLYN GOP [ESPECIALLY THE GOLDEN HORDE] --- AND TODAY THE ONLY HORSES CARRYING THE COLORS OF THE GOP IN BROOKLYN ARE STATEN ISLANDERS

SOME NEW BLODD IN THE 46TH AD IS A GOOD THING --- BUT ONLY IF IT MEANS MORE FOLKS WILLING TO PUT SOME MORE SKIN IN THE GAME FOR THE "BROOKLYN GOP" >>> AMONG ALL OF THE GROUPS AND IN ALL PARTS OF THE 46TH AD

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the 2017 "Three Amigos" are doing as much of a "Fifty Shades..." thing together as anybody this side of Rudy G's daughter. It's old, it's boring, it's time to move along..... Otherwise, all that they really have left to fight about is >>> who gets to turn out the lights.

BTW --- "The plot thickness"..... REALLY !!! ??? I mean "SERIOUSLY !!!!!"

Anonymous said...

I concur, Gale. Brooklyn Republican Party died when Marty lost to Andy G and that was by design. "If Marty couldn't carry the torch then nobody would"... That's how he wanted it. I've no idea why anyone still talks about Quaglione, Liam or even Capano. The 3 amigos are about as relevant as last week's issue of the Home Reporter

Phyllis Carbo spoke for almost everyone in the room when she told Liam to sit down and shut up.

WHAT ROOM WAS THAT ? JUST WHO WAS THERE ??? AND DID ANY OF IT REALLY MATTER ?????

This can't be your idea of what a true political coup really looks and sounds like.....

Sad that you only have one Republican source or you’d know all about it. What kind of GOP blog is this anyway?

How Far Thee Mighty Hath Fallen when Liam Ambrose McCabe and His once Mighty political "career" has been reduced to squabbling to keep his mother-in-law on the A.D. County Committee and outta prison. Why it feels like just yesterday Monsieur McCabe was a World-Beater strutting like a Proud peacock down 5 TH Avenue with Mario Bruno and "Crazy Joe Kovac". They dressed sharp, they talked loud, and they drank like fishes !! They were The Good Old Boys of Saint Michael Gerard but don't get me going about the Rabbi and his right-hand man Offer Biton...... Speaking of which has anybody seen Lenny Di Roma?
