Witnesses put validity of Golden signatures into question — dire consequences if true

— The submission to the Board of Elections of any of the signatures gathered at the Bay Ridge Manor on June 3rd might be one of the final pieces of proof that State Senator Martin Golden is guilty of a particular class of violation of the NYS Election Law

—  It would also be a "Candidate Fraud" that could invalidate Golden's entire petition

—  Vito Palmeri was elected “Baffoon of the Week” on the June 11th Brooklyn GOP Radio Program  —  Could it be the real reason for that was the fact that he remained silent when Gene Berardelli asked him whether anybody had anything to add to Russ Gallo’s description of possible Election Law violations that occurred at the Golden-Grimm-Astorino Victory Rally, which was held on the evening of June 3rd at the Bay Ridge Manor

According to the reports of several witnesses (this report is based on the statements of four persons who were there), GOP petition signatures were taken near the front door of Manor not far from the entrance to the main banquet hall. At that location, people were routinely “TOLD” to sign GOP petitions and put down their addresses and ED/AD information if it was known to them. Anybody that refused or objected was questioned and brow-beaten and asked why they were there. Several of those who would not sign immediately left.

Inside there was a selection of free food and drink. In addition to being at the event and speaking to the crowd inside the hall, the event was held-out to have been sponsored by State Senator Martin Golden, who reportedly made several personal-sounding invitations to many invitees; furthermore, everything happened at the Bay Ridge Manor, which is operated on a Golden piece of property by close family members to Golden.

Vito Palmeri along with his partner Vito DiGiovanni (both of the GOP Blog-talk Radio “Vito & Vito Show”) attended the June 3rd Victory Rally at the Bay Ridge Manor, supposedly as part of their reporting for their own political blog-talk radio program, which normally “airs” on Thursday evenings. Several times the reports of the goings on at the Bay Ridge Manor on June 3rd were recounted-to and/or in the presence of the two Vitos. At least two different times this happened on recorded episodes of the Brooklyn GOP Radio Show (June 4th and June 11th), each of those times the facts proving the election fraud were listed by Russell Gallo  —   each of those times the two Vitos remained silent and did not contradict Mr. Gallo in any way. How could they ? Gallo was merely repeating “on air” what Vito & Vito, and another person who had been there with them, had told Gallo previously.

In addition to the factors mentioned above that would go a long way toward proving a “candidate election fraud,” State Senator Martin Golden’s Chief of Staff, Gerard Kassar, was present and observed both the signature gathering and the free food and drink operation. He wouldn’t have needed to closely investigate any of it; that’s because Kassar was thoroughly familiar with the people and the techniques of the signature gatherers, and he also was well acquainted with the catering operations of the Bay Ridge Manor. The long and the short of it is that if Kassar was there, he saw what was going on, and knew everything there would be to know about all of it.

Golden and company have a tough decision to make   —   file the signatures and risk the finding of “Candidate Fraud” (and as Gene Berardelli has observed, a criminal violation)   —   or “deep six” the signatures gathered on June 3rd and leave everybody guessing as to why that was done.

I never understood why it was an unwritten rule that candidates cant be around for petition fraud. Why does a candidate have to miss all the fun?

Candidates can't help themselves. If they are anywhere near the petitioning process, they will do anything possible to maximize their signature total; and a lot of that is arguably fraudulent.

If the candidate is directly involved in a fraud, it's candidate fraud. A hand-full of frauds, which might be below the threshold of "fraudulent permeation" or "permeated with fraud" could still sink a petition if they are attributed to the candidate personally or even constructively.

Do any of Goldens opponents have the resources to mount a petition challenge?

I know a former district leader in the 22nd senate that has committed to doing what he can to challenge Golden's sigs...

Can someone please put an end to the madness? Golden is a crook and has been taking advantage of his position for years - putting state money into his own pocket by throwing parties at his catering hall, this incident, parking at fire hydrants with his parking plaque to go food shopping and attend church. When will this be stopped!

If only Gene Berdelli were Marty's election lawyer. All our problems would soon be over.

Will things still be the same when the Kentile Floors sign is gone?

Now that is a good question. Marty Golden is as up to date as a floor covered in Kentile and he will experience the same fate that most of those floors have suffered already.

I heard that the real reason Vito Palmeri and Vito DiGiovanni did not speak out on Brooklyn GOP Radio or their own show is that they actually support Marty Golden and signed his petition on June 3rd. They know now that what they saw and told to Russell Gallo is a serious problem for Golden and some of the guys who were talking to people coming into the BR Manor and then taking their signatures.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE “ANOTHER WITNESS HEARD FROM” EDITION

KASSAR WEIGHS-IN WITH HIS VERSION OF THE VICTORY RALLY AT THE BAY RIDGE MANOR – KEY GOLDEN INSIDER CONFIRMS SEVERAL FACTS

According to this item in Kassar’s weekly column in the Home Reporter “There were close to 300 very enthusiastic GOP/Conservative supporters who came to the Bay Ridge Manor last week to rally for gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino and the local Republican/Conservative team [the June 3rd Victory Rally mentioned above]. *** State Senator Marty Golden, Congressmember Michael Grimm and Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis really got the crowd going before Astorino, the Westchester County executive, took the podium to rousing applause....” (See “Common Sense: Paroling pure evil” by Jerry Kassar, 6/9/14, Home Reporter/ Spectator [http://www.homereporternews.com/news/police_fire/common-sense-paroling-pure-evil/article_0e704de0-f00f-11e3-85d0-0019bb2963f4.html]).

Although Kassar’s segment about the event doesn’t mention the signature gathering for his boss and/or the free food and drink inside “sponsored” by his boss, he does confirm several necessary facts in proving any charges against any candidate(s) related to the goings-on at the event.
