Joseph Hayon is the first Brooklyn GOP and Conservative Party candidate to call for NYC Marathon to be postponed --- asks his opponent Helene Weinstein to issue her own call for a postponement

In a Press Release -  Open Letter, nominally addressed to his opponent in the 2012 Election for Member of the NYS Assembly from the 41st AD, Helene Weinstein  —  Joseph Hayon (R-C, and other lines)  called on Assemblywoman Weinstein to join in his call to stop the NYC Marathon, currently scheduled to be held on Sunday, in spite of suffering citizens in every borough of the city ---  Hayon also calls on runners not to run to show solidarity with victims of  Hurricane Sandy.

Mr. Hayon’s Open Letter/Press Release is as follows:

Press Release: Marathon Should Be Postponed !

An Open Letter to Helene Weinstein

After investigating the hardships people still suffer from Sandy, I hereby declare any person who participates in the marathon this Sunday is a completely insensitive individual.  To go about a daily work routine to feed a family is warranted even during times of hardship.  However, a celebration of any kind, is wantonly inappropriate, and disrespectful to those who recently died or still recovering from this disaster.  Runners should show up and refuse to run to show support for the victims of Sandy.

I call upon my opponent, Helene Weinstein to issue a similar statement supporting the postponement of the marathon.

On another note, the legislature and the Board of Elections should postpone state races severely affected by Sandy according to the amount of displaced persons within each respective district.  Any election result will be subject to another lengthy lawsuit, and NY citizens will end up being unrepresented again.

Sincerely,
Joseph Hayon
