Seriously. this is somebody's idea of a good idea --- and his initials must be the same as those for "Michael Ragusa".....

Yessirrreeee !!!  Mike Ragusa proudly posted this a little while ago on his Meta-FB page:

"Michael Ragusa...   Sunday February 5, 2023 at 8:09 AM...  Check out my Op-Ed.... [w/ link to "This Is Why I'm Running For City Council  -- 'The Manhattan'..."]

How many errors and omissions, lies and just made-up bad information can you find with just a simple quick read of what Mikey said about himself and why he is running for the CIty Council for the 47th Council District ???

Here it is for everybody to peruse at their heart's content before they might try to answer our query above.....

From "The Manhattan"  2/4/2-23.  a guest post by Michael Ragusa, Candidate for City Council District 47..... At  [[[https://themanhattan.press/2023/02/04/this-is-why-im-running-for-city-council/?fbclid=IwAR3E_A881PDwgF-Wd0MrhJ61qo_Z-3M1q3l4ivjVSnVOECfKRmvx4cuaxYY]]]

When I first stepped on to an FDNY Ambulance in 2015 to serve the City of New York, I saw the decline of this city firsthand, at the helm of Bill DeBlasio. Fast forward to 2017, a City Councilman named Justin Brannan was elected in my lovely neighborhood of Bay Ridge and used his progressive tactics to ruin what was once, one of the most coveted places to live in NYC.

My name is Michael Ragusa, and I am running for City Council in District 47 (formerly 43). I am currently an investigator for New York Health and Hospitals on the infamous Rikers Island. I protect our beloved healthcare workers from violent inmates that progressives like DA Bragg want to release. I never was one to get involved in politics until 2020- after I saw the government’s overreach with Covid-19. Between the extended closings of small businesses, vaccine and mask mandates (even when the virus wasn’t considered to be a ‘threat’), it seemed that these types of politics were only helping one party move their narrative forward: the progressives.

Growing up as an Italian- American in Brooklyn, my family, friends, and I mainly kept to ourselves as things in the neighborhood were great- block parties, kids playing baseball in the streets…no one had a care in the world. Fast forward to 2020, I watched as our current councilman single handedly blacklisted businesses in the district because they didn’t agree with his outlandish COVID rules. He would announce on Twitter, telling his followers to avoid these businesses and that they should not support them. Why you ask? Well, one could easily blame it on the fact that they didn’t want to check patron’s “vaccination statuses,” but that wasn’t the case.  Most of these small business owners didn’t vote for him or donate money to his campaign, as they knew what the outcome of his victory would be. Suffice it to say, this felt like a direct retaliation to these constituents- all because they did not agree, politically.

That’s when I said enough is enough- and started calling him out via social media and in person. People in Bay Ridge started approaching me and thanking me for standing up to this bully; explaining that no one has ever called out his one-sided, bullying ways. My whole life, I have been an anti-bully, stemming all the way back to high school. I felt (and feel) my district is being bullied and there is no end in sight.

Bay Ridge once was a Republican strong hold until 2018. We saw our beloved senator Marty Golden, who held office for 18 years, succeeded by another progressive named Andrew Goundardes. This was the beginning of the end of the Republican regime in Bay Ridge, much to the dismay of many. Joe Biden won our district in 2020, and Justin Brannan was re-elected the same year (albeit not by many votes), due to the local GOP putting up a weak, Ultra-MAGA candidate with a shady past. Since then, crime has been on the rise in the district and the current councilman denies it and even mocks constituents who ask about it. He also voted to DEFUND the police in 2020, resulting in a $475 million dollar budget cut to our beloved NYPD. As a first responder who works with the NYPD daily, this infuriated me. How can the best and most diverse police department in the world, pay the price for something that happened in Minneapolis? If you want to know the answer, ask him. When BLM and Antifa came to Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights to protest and loot our “Mom and Pop” storefronts, I was out on the front lines with likeminded people defending our neighborhood. What did the current councilman do to stop these protests? Absolutely nothing.  In fact, one could argue he encouraged it. He stated in a tweet,  “Antifa means you are anti-fascist, if you’re anti-antifa, you are a fascist.” Yikes.

I was approached in May of 2022 about running for City Council and announced my run in July  of 2022. Since then, I’ve stood in alliance with Lee Zeldin in protecting our schools from the wild liberal agendas, supported Rudy Giuliani in helping fix the issue of crime, stood with my fellow City workers in getting the pay they deserve, and conducted Toy Drives for local orphanages and more. My platform is simple: fix our quality of life, lower the crime, FUND our police, fix the DOE, and get our fellow New Yorkers the mental help and quality of life they need and deserve. No one wants to see a guy defecating in the middle of 3rd avenue, right? I have the resources to make this happen: many connections to law enforcement, the support of America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani (whether you like him or not, NYC saw its best times under his guidance), and have developed sound relationships with other city entities and workers. We need to give ALL city employees a raise and show them we are thankful for them. Never once did I hear someone call 911 and ask if a Police Officer, Firefighter, or EMT was vaccinated when I was on the job.  I will clean up this district, literally and figuratively, like the days of Rudy Giuliani. If most of you have been following my campaign, you know I tell it like it is, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Can someone give me the address of the "local orphanage" in Bay Ridge ?

is it wise to say "i work for the city of new york" and then lace into a racist tirade in a public forum? asking for a friend.

I know that Mikey isn't really from there, but since he wants to run for office there, he should know that Bay Ridge wasn't a Republican stronghold until 2018. It stopped being that even before Brannan became the Boss of Bay Ridge, which was years before he was elected to the NY City Council in 2017. Didn't Ragusa ever hear of Democrats Sal Albanese. or Joe Montalto, or Jonelle Hyer-Spencer, or Vinny Gentile, or Michael McMahon. or Andy Gounardes and the several Democrats that outpolled Marty Golden in Bay Ridge for years before Gounardes finally won it all district-wide in 2018.

6:18 -- well, "The Manhattan" is a far-right nut site "Established 2022."

Anonymous said...

I started to "fact check" Ragusa's manifesto but I ran out of red ink after 3 sentences

Anonymous said...

I checked the most recent map and Manalapan is not in the district.

Anonymous said...

If Ragusa gets on the ballot he beats Kagan. Ragusa is a Republican.

I cruised through Ragu's rant and looked at the whole site. Nutbin conspiracy misc, book recommendations that include Alex Jones, contrails voodoo, and a sick-fake "Lost Diary of Anne Frank." Is Ragu this dumb? Does he think that conservs are this dumb?

744, Manalapan is an ancient Lenape word meaning "no way is this Brooklyn."

One good thing about Mike Ragusa/s campaign is that Jennifer Moore ain't involved in it. On the other hand, her poxy hands are all over the Kagan Republican stuff.

Anonymous said...

Jennifer Moore and Liam can't lose!

My favorite part in the whole Ruh-gooser "op-ed" is the part that goes like this: "Joe Biden won our district in 2020, and Justin Brannan was re-elected the same year (albeit not by many votes), due to the local GOP putting up a weak, Ultra-MAGA candidate with a shady past."

Does Ruh-gooser really think that Brian Fox was a weaker candidate in 2022 than Ragusa is right now? Is the Ruh-gooser saying that he himself is NOT a MAGA candidate with a shady past?

Anonymous said...

How come Manalapan has no schools?

Anonymous said...

Is Ari Kagan going to be using some of his matching funds to pay Jennifer Moore to do what she did for Brian Fox?

My Lord the pictures in the Post of the frozen fish washing up on the shores of cape cod show what happens when community leaders like Vito L forget to adjust the thermostat.

Vito is organizing a big summit in Cape Cod next weekend. Avery isn't invited

RESPONSE: THE "BIG UNANSWERED QUESTION" EDITION

TO ALL THE COMMENTERS ABOVE THAT PROVIDED ANSWERS RESPONSIVE TO THIS QUESTION:
"How many errors and omissions, lies and just made-up bad information can you find with just a simple quick read of what Mikey said about himself and why he is running for the City Council for the 47th Council District ???"

MOST TOUCHED ON THE MICRO- AND MISSED THE MACRO- WHEN IT COMES TO MICHAEL RAGUSA'S SO-CALLED "OP-ED".....

To start off, Mikey's word salad as a main course isn't any kind of "op-ed" at all..... It isn't an essay, or report, or feature article either. --- It isn't in any recognizable literary, journalistic or rhetorical format whatsoever. It's just a series of disconnected percepts and near-concepts that might or might not reflect any purposeful thoughts escaping out of Ragusa's head, or mouth, or ass. If one were to print a hard copy of the gaseous miasma that are the total mass effluvium emanating from Ragusa --- it would probably look like what we saw as his so-called "op-ed" --- "This Is Why I'm Running For City Council..."

What it doesn't do is tell anybody >>> WHY <<< Michael Ragusa is running for NYC Council at this time, and under all these catalogued disjointed events and circumstances. >>> And that, in a nutshell, is what's the main error and omission that should be the obvious take-away from just a simple quick read of what Mikey said about himself and why he is running for the City Council for the 47th Council District in 2023.

ANALYSIS OF AN EPI-MESSAGE BURIED IN RAGUSA'S WORD SALAD: THE "MAYBE THIS GUY, RAGUSA, SHOULD BE LOOKED AT AS A CLOSET 'PROGRESSIVE' DOING A DRAG ACT IN CONSERVATIVE CLOTHING" EDITION

MICHAEL RAGUSA MIGHT HAVE GIVEN US MORE OF AN INSIGHT INTO HIS "SOUL" AND LESS INTO HIS "EVOLVING" POLITICAL PERSONNA THAN HE EVER INTENDED FOR ANYBODY TO SEE WHEN HE PUBLISHED HIS SO-CALLED "OP-ED".....

NOW, WE ALL SHOULD ASK WHETHER >>> HE SEEMS TO BE AN INSTINCTIVE ADVOCATE AND ACOLYTE FOR POLICE >>> DIVERSITY <<< ABOVE OTHER CONSIDERATIONS LIKE THE GENERAL GOOD --- AND UNIVERSAL PUBLIC ORDER AND SAFETY

THIS VIEW OF NYPD FUNDING FOR FY-2021, AND OTHER EVENTS DURING 2020 AND 2021, MIGHT BE UNIQUE TO MICHAEL RAGUSA --- AND IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING COMPLETELY NEW AND DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER LOCAL CANDIDATES ACTIVE IN THE BROOKLYN GOP.....

This from Ragusa's so-called "op-ed": ".... As a first responder who works with the NYPD daily, this [alleged FY-2021 'defunding'] infuriated me. How can the best and most diverse police department in the world, pay the price for something that happened in Minneapolis?..."

Who besides Ragusa has ever categorically connected the alleged FY-2021 "defunding" of the NYPD to the 2020 death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis? And who besides Ragusa seems to think that one of the main reasons the NYPD should have been insulated from any FY-2021 "defunding" would be because it is ".. the most diverse police department in the world..." ???

Even since he declared his party switch, for a while, it looked like Ari Kagan was only going to make appearances in his older mostly Democrat stomping grounds in his own old 47th Council District. Lately, he's been going a little further afield, and lining up key Republicans and Conservatives more in the direction of the Verrazzano Bridge and its approaches. In terms of "footprint" in the new 47th Council District, in a Republican Primary if there might be any, Kagan's is by far the biggest and heaviest. He also can argue that he is the only Republican candidate that has even a ghost of a shot at beating Justin Brannan in 2023; and Kagan can even show that right now by many metrics, he has an advantage over the Democrat incumbent from Bay Ridge.

Anonymous said...

How come Manalapan has no schools?

Anonymous said...

Manalapan isn't relevant, because Mike Ragusa isn't relevant. Big balloons from other places aren't relevant either, because it's been shown how easily they can be popped when it's time to do it.

Gale, his "diversity" blip is so what. Issue is that he's a rambling unqualified wackadoo with lousy judgment.

RESPONSE: THE " 'STOP ARI KAGAN' REPUBLICANS" EDITION

TO SEVERAL OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE & TWIMC

IT LOOKS LIKE THE "STOP ARI KAGAN" REPUBLICANS MIGHT SOON BE SCARCER THAN HENS' TEETH --- AND ANY "STOP ARI KAGAN" MOVEMENT AMONG "GOP OLDTIMERS" WILL MORPH INTO A "CAN'T STOP ARI KAGAN" MOVEMENT AMONG "GOP DEAD ENDERS"

Kagan is an incumbent City Councilman. He is a member of the GOP minority caucus in the City Council.

WHO WANTS TO BE BLAMED FOR LOSING ANOTHER GOP SEAT IN BROOKLYN ? >>> CERTAINLY NOT TED GHORRA AND HIS CREW.....

DO YOU --- WHOEVER YOU MIGHT BE ???

Anonymous said...

Ghorra has sold out the Brooklyn GOP - 1st to the Brooklyn Cons Party, and what is left, he as sold out to the Dem Party, starting with Brook Krasny and now Kagan.

Maybe if her were an effective Leader and had some republicans to run, we could build and grow our party. But that didnt happen and wont happen.

Anonymous said...

"Kagan can even show that right now by many metrics, he has an advantage over the Democrat incumbent from Bay Ridge."

Bwahahahaha ha hah a hahahahahahhah ahahahhhaah

Anonymous said...

Ragusa claims he was "approached in May of 2022 about running for City Council"

Approached by who ? The midget in his mirror ?

Anonymous said...

Meanwhile, Anna, whose big balloons have recently floated into Brooklyn airspace for political purposes, seems to have earlier fraudulently adopted a Brooklyn address for something else entirely. Anna used a friends address in Brooklyn that is not Anna's legit residence to smuggle her kids into a school in Brooklyn. Some other folks don't like it one bit, because it deprives some kids that really do live in Brooklyn access to the limited spots in that particular local school program.

Anonymous said...

That should make the educational non-diversity advocate Vito LaBella happy.

Anonymous said...

If Anna does what Lester Chang did she'll end up in the City Council.

Anonymous said...

Even though she has big balloons, she's not Chinese.

Chang was left alone only because he was Chinese, and because the Democrats are now 100% about racial identity politics, they could not throw him out of the assembly.
