Seymour Hersh, a well-respected Pulitzer-winning senior reporter has written that last June while operating under the cover of a "widely publicized" NATO exercise called BALTOPS22 >>> U.S. Navy divers "planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipes".....
According to the Hirsh report, "Biden's decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington's national security community about how to best achieve that goal. For much of that time, the issue was not whether to do the mission, but how to get it done with no overt clue as to who was responsible."
The Hersh article stated that the confirmation of the facts came from "a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning." And according to Seymour Hersh's reporting >>> it was a team from the U.S. Navy's Diving and Salvage Center in Panama City, Florida, that actually did the job on the Nordstream pipelines.
The Hersh report has been picked up and put on much of the media around the world, including major news services, however the U.S. media has largely been mum.
According to Reuters, which has carried the Hersh report:
"The White House on Wednesday dismissed a blog post by a U.S. investigative journalist alleging the United States was behind explosions of the Nord Stream gas pipelines as 'utterly false and complete fiction.'... Reuters has not corroborated the report, published by U.S. investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, which said an attack was carried out last September at the direction of President Joe Biden.... 'This is utterly false and complete fiction,' said Adrienne Watson, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council. Spokespeople for the CIA and State Department said the same...."

A few days more than a year ago, U.S. President Joe Biden openly warned everybody including the people of Germany that if Russia were to invade Ukraine, there would be no Nord Stream 2. However, Joe Biden did not provide any details as to how he might go about ensuring the controversial pipeline would cease to exist.
It was at a February 7, 2022 joint news conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that President Biden openly stated the U.S. would bring an end to the Nord Stream 2 pipelines in response to a question from Reuters. Biden was specific and emphatic >>> "If Russia invades... again, then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."
Then, when the Reuters reporter asked how he would go about doing that, Biden responded, "I promise you we will be able to do it."
A couple of weeks later, on February 23, 2022, in an official White House statement announcing the shutdown of the Nord Stream pipelines to Germany, President Biden specifically referred to his February 7th remarks --- and the threat of further action against the pipelines was renewed in this veiled form:
"FEBRUARY 23, 2022... Statement by President Biden on Nord Stream 2... HOME... BRIEFING ROOM... STATEMENTS AND RELEASES... Since Russia began deploying troops to the Ukrainian border, the United States has worked closely with our Allies and partners to deliver a strong, unified response. As I said when I met with Chancellor Scholz earlier this month, Germany has been a leader in that effort, and we have closely coordinated our efforts to stop the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia further invaded Ukraine.... Yesterday, after further close consultations between our two governments, Germany announced that it would halt certification of the pipeline. Today, I have directed my administration to impose sanctions on Nord Stream 2 AG and its corporate officers. These steps are another piece of our initial tranche of sanctions in response to Russia’s actions in Ukraine. As I have made clear, we will not hesitate to take further steps if Russia continues to escalate.... Through his actions, President Putin has provided the world with an overwhelming incentive to move away from Russian gas and to other forms of energy. I want to thank Chancellor Scholz for his close partnership and continued dedication to holding Russia accountable for its actions...."

According to Seymour Hersh's report, an elite U.S. Navy dive team placed the explosives on all four Nord Stream pipes during the NATO BALTOPS 22 exercise in June 2022, with cooperative assistance from the Norwegian Navy. Hersh's source, an intelligence officer involved in the planning, claimed that the detonators were fitted with hydroacoustic receivers, and on September 26, a Norwegian aircraft flew over the site and dropped a sonobuoy which triggered the blasts. Surveys indicated that three out of four pipelines were destroyed, but a fourth remained intact. Danish and Swedish investigators have not publically disclosed any conclusions as to the identity(ies) of the special operative(s), but have confirmed that the attack on the gas lines was sabotage.
The Hersh report on the attack in Northern European waters has received broad coverage throughout Asia. In Beijing, the story made the top of the page of the state-owned China Daily; and The Global Times, an English-language division of the People's Daily, made an in-depth review of Hersh's report its top story on Thursday.
