If tomorrow the presentation of the legal issues and the evidence at a hearing of the Assembly Judiciary Committee tracks with what was published in the Gothamist today --- then Lester Chang absolutely SHOULD NOT BE SEATED as a Member of the NYS Assembly in January

The new evidence that was reported in the Gothamist article today was the admission by Lester Chang that  >>> "....  He still has a Manhattan apartment that he once shared with his late wife. But he says that even when he live[s] there, he always maintain[s] a separate residence in the Midwood home that still belongs to his mother, just a couple blocks from Brooklyn College...."  ---  Which Chang expressed in his own words as follows: "Until my wife passed in 2019, I lived with her in a Manhattan apartment.... Even then, I still ha[d a] residence here in Brooklyn. It was my childhood home. I never left.”  [[[ In other words, Chang admits that he has his own apartment in Manhattan where he has lived for years;  however, he also now says that his residence was always in his mother's house in Brooklyn ]]]

The Gothamist article also noted that Lester Chang had previously admitted that he never changed his voter registration until earlier during this year 2022; that he voted in Manhattan during the 2021 election, because he was present in Manhattan at the time; and also that he ran for public offices in Manhattan during 2020 and 2016

The arguments on the "Law" by Lester Chang's team are as bad as the cumulative evidence against his having a genuine residence in Brooklyn for the one year before the 2022 election  ---  In essence they argue  >>>  just ignore the law.....  in this instance, the relevant provisions of the NYS Constitution

Read the whole Gothamist article.....  (See "A Republican won a Brooklyn Assembly election. Democrats may not let him take his seat"  by Jon Campbell, 12/20/2022. The Gothamist/ News    [https://gothamist.com/news/a-republican-won-a-brooklyn-assembly-election-democrats-may-not-let-him-take-his-seat]).

Now, what would you pay for Lester Chang's chances as a certified NYS Assemblyman-elect to become a sitting NYS Assemblyman ???

I still think that DMV stuff is way more serious. Thats a $75 fine. And a $95 surcharge.

Gothamist says Ciampoli will testify. Lester takes the 5th. Something odd about that.

Surprise witness will be Brian Fox

The only thing that anybody, including the Democrats, might use Brian Fox for would be as a decoy to draw fire if there were an active shooter incident at the state capital.

If Fox were to be called as a witness by anyone to anything involving Lester Chang, Brian would really and truly be surprised, but not as surprised as those who really know him.

Here's what Lester Chang has said in published election material for his 2022 campaign for the 49th AD Assembly seat in Brooklyn: "In March 2020, I volunteered to be mobilized again on active duty in support COVID Operation, where I originally helped convert Jacob Javits Convention Center into a field hospital (treated over 1,000 COVID patients), now I help support the Javits Center as a mass vaccination center. With everyone's help, we can defeat COVID-19...." and a recent newspaper account said this: "During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chang said, he was called up by the New York Naval Militia to serve in Manhattan, where he was stationed at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on Manhattan’s west side. The vaccination site at the Javits Center, which was staffed by National Guard and Naval Militia members, closed in July 2021. Whenever possible during that time, Chang said, he returned to Brooklyn...."

Then how is it that Chang now says that his military duties in Manhattan made it necessary for him to vote in Manhattan hased upon his Manhattan address and Manhattan voter registration in November 2021, and kept him from voting in Brooklyn. He says that even during his COVID-related duties during 2020 and 2021, he went back and forth to his residence in Brooklyn.

If there's extra time in the hearing they are going to try to figure out who threw the jelly donut at Quaglione's door

48 exhibits to prove Chang doesn't live where he says he lives

Has the jury began deliberations?

Chang was a voting/domiciled Manhattanite who did pt care for his elderly mom in Brooklyn.

If that establishes Brooklyn residency, then I could run for office in Mn, Q, and Connecticut without moving a cursor.

"his military duties in Manhattan made it necessary for him to vote in Manhattan"
Chang handlers, give him and us a break.

Has the jury sent any notes to the Judge?

In the very early spring of 2020 Lester Chang posted this on his Facebook campaign site: "Lester for New York is at Chatham Square... March 24, 2020... New York, NY... Attn: NY State Senate Candidate, Lester Chang, addresses the current virus pandemic at a remote press conference in Chinatown... US Navy veteran Lester Chang will be returning to duty with the NYS Naval Militia for OPERATION COVID19, by the order of the Governor of the State of New York."

I just got back from Albany. What an embarrassment. Chang is unfit to serve.

Wednesday’s hearing revealed that Lester Chang’s Manhattan apartment is rent stabilized, raising the question of whether Chang is complying with state law requiring that a rent stabilized unit has to be used as a primary residence to be entitled to rent protection. Chang said that he still pays rent at the Manhattan apartment but testified that no one currently lives there. This is against the law. Today was an abject disaster for Chang, his legal team, Theodore (Ted) Ghorra and the entire Kings County Republican Party.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "OVERWHELMING DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE PRESENTED COUNTERING CHANG'S CLAIM OF BROOKLYN RESIDENCY STACKED UP AGAINST THE FEW THINGS THAT LESTER CHANG AND HIS ATTORNEY HAD TO SAY TRYING TO PROVE THAT HE LIVED IN BROOKLYN" EDITION

HINT --- WHAT WAS PRESENTED TO THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE TODAY IT DOES SEEM TO ADD-UP TO A LESTER CHANG WIN, BUT RATHER WOULD SEEM TO INDICATE A RATHER ONE-SIDED COMMITTEE REPORT AGAINST HIM SENT TO THE ASSEMBLY FOR THEIR CONSIDERATION IN JANUARY 2023

Here's just some of the bad stuff for Chang --- New York City Board of Elections records showong that Chang voted in Manhattan in last year’s general election, [ together with the NYS Constitutional requirement that Chang needed to have maintained his residency in the county where he ran – Kings County – for at least one year prior to the Nov. 8 election this year; ie., that Chang had to have established residence in Brooklyn on or before Nov. 7, 2021]. Opposing counsel highlighted evidence including records of Chang's having worked as a <anhattan poll worker for the New York City Board of Elections, including copies of separate checks dating from June 25, 2021, through and including Sep. 2, 2022, all bearing Chang’s Manhattan address. Those checks were also endorsed by Chang and deposited at Manhattan banks; other exhibits included documents showing that Chang didn’t officially update his address to the one from Brooklyn with the Board of Elections until February 2022; and more important as an official piece of identification, CHang didn't change his residence address with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles until November, 2022; and also that as a member of the NYS Naval Militia, Chang received various official notices from the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs prior-to and through Jan. 7, 2022, all of which had been sent to and received at Lester Chang's Manhattan residence, a rent stabilized apartment on Cleveland Place, which several times Chang admitted that he still maintains to this day.

And here's what Lester Chang and his attorney put into the record on his behalf in favor of his residency in Brooklyn --- affidavits from family and neighbors in Brooklyn testifying to his residence; mail he received at his Brooklyn address prior to Nov. 7, 2021; and Lester Chang's 2021 federal and state tax returns filed in 2022 reflecting the Brooklyn address. Chang also testified that he voted early, on October 23rd, for the 2021 general election in Manhattan on Oct. 23, two weeks prior to the Nov. 7 threshold that year to have established residency in Brooklyn.

Its all a fix for Abbate.

"affidavits from family and neighbors in Brooklyn testifying to his residence" "mail he received at his Brooklyn address prior to Nov. 7, 2021" "2021 federal and state tax returns filed in 2022 reflecting the Brooklyn address" "voted early, on October 23rd, for the 2021 general election in Manhattan" Laughable "proofs."

106, it's neither "laughable" nor any level of "proof" other than possibly "some admissible proof."

On the other hand, Lester Chang made several admissions as to maintaining a "residence" at his Manhattan address throughout the period in question for purposes of the rent stabilization law and other reasons, from November 7, 2021 through Election day 2022, and continuing; and he admitted that he voted using his Manhattan address during the 2021 election, specifically on October 23, 2021; evidence was also introduced that several NYC and NYS agencies had official records indicating Lester Chang's residence was at his Manhattan apartment during all or a substantial period between November 7, 2021 and Election Day 2022. Thise agenceis included the NYS DMV, the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs, the NYC Board of Elections [both as a voter registered with the NYC BOE and as a paid NYC BOE poll worker], and the NYC DHCR-ORA records of rent stabilized apartments. There was also substantial evidence that Lester Chang maintained a countinuous residence at his Mahhattan apartment before voting in the 2021 election, both before and after his wife passed away in 2019.

The NY Post says that Ted Ghorra submitted an affidavit about Chang's address in Brooklyn.

That proves Ghorra is in the middle of this whole Lester Chang scam. What did "Ted" swear to exactly?

Our 2021 TY ended on 12/3/21 and most of us filed before April '22.
Which doesn't prove our domicile in November '21.
Unless we voted from it, as he did.

632, "Chang said that he still pays rent at the [rent stabilized] Manhattan apartment but testified that no one currently lives there."

I don't know if this is "criminal" but it sure as heck is indecent.
