Is Jerry Kassar trying to make sure that a candidate that is not one of his guys does not pull a rabbit out of his hat to defeat Iwen Chu ???

Now that Mike Long is no longer around to keep the Conservative Party boat on a somewhat even keel  ---  Kassar has fallen deeper and deeper under the sway of one of New York State's most quietly powerful Democrat power brokers  >>> Peter Abbate

So, would Jerry Kassar do anything that might embarrass Assemblymember Peter Abbate  ?????

So, would Jerry Kassar do anything that Assemblymember Peter Abbate might ask to help keep a big  --- a very big ---  scandal under wraps  ???????

Kassar did exactly that  >>> to stop a very big story from appearing in a major NYC city-wide daily that would have had major scandalous implications for both Democrat State Senate Candidate Iwen Chu >>> and her patron and mentor Assemblymember Peter Abbate

Back in August, during an interview on "Mornings with Maria," New York gubernatorial candidate and Rep. Lee Zeldin told Bay Ridge's own Maria Barttromo some of the actions he intended to implement the "first day" he took takes office as the governor of New York. 

According to Zeldin, under "...  the New York state constitution, the governor of the state of New York has the authority, and I would argue the obligation, to remove a district attorney who refuses to enforce the law...." 

Then Lee Zeldin specifically said that he would remove Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.....  

That's fine as far as it goes  ---  but it ignored a DA in New York State that has consistently refused to apply the law in situations far worse that what they say Alvin Bragg has done  ---  Albany DA David Soares, somebody that Zeldin should know very well because of his many years in Albany.  And we're' not talking about the stuff that Lee Zeldin might have heard on the local news or read in Soares' pet newspaper, The Albany Times-Union, we're talking about the real stories that make their way around the water coolers in the State House, or get whispered along or across the bars near City Hall and the Capitol in Albany or sometimes a little further away.

There is little doubt that Zeldin knows Albany very well, not only was he a long-time legislator, he went to college and law school there. That's why it was so odd that Zeldin would be in Albany and talking about the rise in crime there, but not talking as if the local DA David Soares wasn't part of the problem.  NO !  He didn't.  ---  In fact, one of the articles about Zeldin's  having pizza in Albany yesterday, and talking about crime with the pizza shop's owner made it seem that DA Soares was more a part of the solution and not a major cause of the problem of rising crime. Oddly, an even more recent local NYC report about Zeldin's positions on how to fix the crime problem finished with praise for the Albany DA and his support for similar proposals.

So, what does Jerry Kassar have to do with that ?    ---  Now, THAT IS an interesting question.

Kassar knows the ins-and-outs-and-back-chanels of  Albany for a very long time, but this isn't a history lesson nor a recitation of Kassar's ten biggest deals with Albany Democrats  ---  but don't forget that Kassar worked for Marty Golden for a very long time, so enough said about that. 

Let's jump ahead to the part where DA Soares has Kassar under the gun for two big deal problems  ---  one with long-time chum John Haggerty and a lot of phony third-party petitions  ---  and the other with Peter Abbate and a lot of grief over Abbate's staffer Joseph P. Brady.

For some reason, DA Soares has slow-walked an open and shut election fraud case against John Haggerty, a prior-convicted election law felon, in which the more recent case  against Haggerty absolutely had to involve Kassar as a co-conspirator  --- that is one Sword of Damocles that Soares has over Kassar.  The other SOD is equally compelling  ---  to a degree of metaphysical certainty,  Jerry Kassar had to have had almost as many dealings with Joseph P. Brady as anybody else over the years, because of Kassar's duties on behalf of Marty Golden.

Without getting too deep into the weeds, Kassar really does need to do quite a few "contracts" for a variety of Democrats this year to keep Albany DA Soares off of his back.

One is to make sure nobody goes after DA Soares, before Governor Hochul does something very nice for Soares. The second is to do his best to make sure that Governor Hochul remains in a position to do something very nice for Soares.  The third is much closer to home for Mr. Kassar  ---  to make sure that his candidate against Iwen Chew doesn't bring up anything about the Joseph P. Brady case in any effort to win the race for the 17th State Senate seat.

Since the Joseph P. Brady -- Iwen Chew thing is the closest to home for most of you good people, let's upack that one a little bit.  Brady is the Abbate staffer that "all of a sudden" had some real problems involving a murder, kidnapping, a rape, and an assault with a gun, and gun possession all in connection with some biker clubs in Albany, allegedly involved in the illegal drugs and gun trade. The two folks that allegedly were either kidnapped, falsely imprisoned, raped, and assaulted and threatened with a gun were a couple of, as the say in Abbate's Bensonhurst  --- "yutes" that were being "mentored" by Brady.....  That word "mentored" sort of jumps out, doesn't it.  Well it should.....  So, let's do a deep dive into this.  

As we have reported on this blog in the past,  for over ten years, Joseph Brady was the go-to guy in the state Legislature for the leaders and lobbyists associated with New York’s public sector labor unions, in his role as the longtime legislative director for state Assemblyman Peter J. Abbate Jr.  In fact, Brady was the virtual gatekeeper for the very senior Brooklyn Democrat.  Abbate has been a NYS Assemblymember since 1986,  whose leadership of the chamber’s Governmental Employees Committee gave him significant influence over labor issues  ---  hence, his extremely close interractions with State Senator Marty Golden, and Golden's long-time top staffer Jerry Kassar, who were doing the same for the NY State Senate.

Brady also led a double life as the co-founder of a notorious chapter of the biker club East Coast Syndicate. That capital region motorcycle club had been formed about six years ago, and has since attracted the attention of state and federal law enforcement for its members’ alleged affinity for drug use and trafficking, guns, and violence. 

There is something else to all of this.  Just as there are strict rules governing the operations of the NY State Legislature, and organizations funded by the legislature, the East Coast Syndicate club that Brady and three others co-founded apparently had its own strict guidelines, and a written constitution and by-laws. That is the sort of thing that is necessary if an organization is receiving government funding for the mentoring of yutes  ---  like Brady said he was doing.

Recently, a major NYC daily was investigating this possible state funding of Joseph P. Brady's Albany area motorcycle club  ---  with an eye to tying it all to Abbate and Iwen Chu in advance of the upcoming elections.  Needless to say, there was no cooperation from the Democrats, but the odd thing was that NYS Conservative Party State Chairman Jerry Kassar shut down any cooperation involving articles about Joseph P. Brady by the Republicans and Conservatives that he keeps under his thumb in Brooklyn.
