According to the MSM --- The January 6th Committee goes back into televised open sessions with its third public hearing starting at 1 PM on today (Thursday, June 16, 2022)......
This time they will be honing-in on Vice President Mike Pence and his resistance to a so-called pressure campaign from President Donald Trump >>> to go along with an alleged scheme to overturn results of the 2020 election
Also, the Demo-rats want to show that the January 6th demonstrators had singled-out Pence for stabbing President Trump in the back in an act of historic disloyalty and treachery
Without hearing a single word of testimony or seeing a single exhibit, it's safe to say that >>> we have seen and heard all of this before --- many --- many --- many --- many --- many --- many times
And we have heard the classic rebuttal to all of this before --- many --- many --- many --- many --- many --- many times
And that rebuttal would follow along these lines from a very literate accounting of a similar long-ago historial event: ".... The noble Brutus...Hath told you Caesar was ambitious.
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Caesar answered it.
Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest —

Gail, couldn't you find an appropriate show tune? Shakespeare's "Julius Ceasar" is a little heavy, nobody involved in anything about January 6th literally stabbed anybody in the back like they did to Ceasar.
Besides, there are no honorable men or women involved anywhere in these J6 committee hearings. Apart from all the dishonorable individuals involved, today's hearings are the very definition of "Can't watch TV".
I am a lawyer, I wrote legal treatises on several subjects, I took Constitutional Law classes, I participated in seminars on Constitutional matters, I taught Constitutional Law classes, I practiced exstensively on trials in state and federal courts, I practiced in both state and federal appeals courts, I also did countless administrative proceedings >>> so far today, 6-16-2022, has not shown me anything of any factual, legal, or intellectual value whatsoever by any of the "experts," "eye witnesses," or "questionners" during any part of today's hearings. More important, I have watched lots of TV and TV news in my life, including the "Watergate Hearings". This is terrible television; and for the period that they are being broadcast, I'd bet that these hearings are causing more deadly comas than Fentanyl.
UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "J6 COMMITTEE'S FANTASYLAND WITNESS" EDITION
ONE OF THE "HONORABLE MEN" CALLED BEFORE THE JANUARY 6TH COMMITTEE WAS A VENERABLE GOP JURIST THAT WENT ALL THE WAY BACK TO PAPA BUSH AND OBVIOUSLY WAS PART OF THE HARDCORE BUSH "NEVER TRUMP" CROWD --- HIS POST-JUDICIAL JOB FOR BOEING SHOWS THAT HE IS ALSO A CARD-CARRYING WASHINGTON "SWAMP CREATURE"
Former multiple Bush-appointed federal judge, Michael Luttig, said Trump is laying the groundwork to rig the 2024 election. Luttig went so faar as to call Trump's MAGA proponents a "clear and present danger to American democracy." And in conclusion, he warned everyone that the difference now is that Trump's MAGA crowd is so practiced at overturning an election, they may succeed in doing that for Donald Trump or Trump's personally favored candidate during the 2024 Presidential Election.
Michael Luttig is a retired conservative federal judge who gave legal advice to former Vice President Mike Pence not go along with any of the Trump team's plans in January 2021 to stop the certification of Joe Biden as the duly elected POTUS. According to Luttig, "... January 6, 2021 “... was the final fateful day for the execution of a well-developed plan by the former president to overturn the 2020 presidential election at any cost....” Luttig has openly praised V.P. Mike Pence for his actions on January 6th, and Pence's willingness to stand up to President Trump and his allies at the White House, saying that >>> “There were many cowards on the battlefield on January 6.... The Vice President was not among them.”
During the J6 Committee's third broadcast public hearing, Luttig testified that "The former president and his allies are executing [a similar] blueprint for 2024 in open and plain view of the American public.... If the former president or his anointed successor[ ]were to lose that election, they would attempt to overturn that 2024 election in the same way that they attempted to overturn the 2020 election, but succeed.... That's what the former president and his allies are telling us...."
Luttig's closing remarks J6 Committee dovetailed with comments Luttig made earlier this year in a February 14th Op-Ed, which he had written for The New York Times entitled >>> "The Conservative Case for Avoiding a Repeat of Jan. 6" <<< wherein the old Bush-man warned that Trump might again try to interfere with the certification of electoral votes in 2024.
What the third day of J6 hearings absolutely proves is that V.P. Mike Pence singlehandedly chose for Joe Biden to become the current President of the United States instead of Donald Trump. Pence's bad judgment and lack of real courage and character in the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and in the days leading up to it, directly led to the current parlous condition of almost every aspect of our democratic republic, which is being run by the completely unfit and improperly certified Joe Biden as POTUS.

EXCEPT ON JANUARY 6, 2021, V.P. MIKE PENCE TURNED AROUND AND DID EXACTLY THAT --- HE MADE A SINGLHANDED CHOICE WHO WOULD BE THE NEXT POTUS --- AND THE PERSON THAT HE CHOSE WAS JOE BIDEN
What was going on between election night 2020 and leading up to January 6th was a lot of jockeying in about half a dozen states wrt vote counts and election fraud investigations, the votes and re-votes of elections commissioners and the like, contests over the selection of electors, and the submission of competing slates of electors.
The J6 Committee has not yet gotten into their one-sided version and presentation on all that --- but they intend to do so.
There was still controversy about the electoral college vote which had been turned over to Pence for counting and certification by the Joint Session on January 6th. The J6 Committee will not allow that full story to be told, including how several members of the House and Senate were not allowed to voice their objections to the proceedings going forward.
