It's been reported that "Joseph P. Brady, the former longtime legislative director for state Assemblyman Peter J. Abbate, Jr., is a co-founder of the Capital Region chapter of a motorcycle club, East Coast Syndicate, whose members are the focus of a pending homicide investigation. Brady was arrested [on Oct. 24, 2020] on unrelated charges of sexually abusing an [incapacitated] 18-year-old girl at his Watervliet residence....." That article by Brendan Lyons in the Albany Taimes-Union goes on to say that --- "For more than a decade, Joseph Brady was a go-to guy in the state Legislature for the leaders and lobbyists associated with New York's public sector labor unions. In his role as the longtime legislative director for state Assemblyman Peter J. Abbate Jr., Brady was the gatekeeper for the 71-year-old Brooklyn Democrat...."
That's only the tip of the iceberg.....
At the time of Brady's arrest in 2020, the matter was widely covered by the press and other media --- however, due to political influence by Abbate, and the way things are handled when high level legislative staffers in Albany are charged with serious crimes like rape, the Brady case has been slow-walked into oblivion by the local prosecutor in Albany.
So far, Iwen Chu has not been mentioned anywhere in the coverage of the Joseph Brady case >>> however, we here at this independent Repblican blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island have it on the best authority that Iwen Chu will be connected to all of this Joseph Brady stuff very soon.....
At least one of Iwen Chu's opponents mentioned above is getting ready to go at this story big time.
Given the fact that Mr. O'Hara has had a long a fruitful relationship with several newspapers including the Albany Times-Union and the NY Daily News on various other matters, it would be a good guess that he is already all over this with them and others --- including the current slow-walk of the charges against Mr. Brady since October 2020.

All the pictures of Joseph Brady show a man who looks like a rapist and gang leader. Was Chu really fooled? Queen of the Click was the first one who saw Chu for the opportunist she is.

Abbates "legislative director" was charged with things like having explosives in his cave. And he was interviewed a year before that by the state police for killing a rival gang member. And what happened to the rape charges.
Outside of that he seems like a standup guy. A straight shooter. Just ask the guy that got shot.

Iwen Chu never worked on the same staff as Joseph Brady.
You must have Iwen Chu mixed up with IRENE Chu, who did work with Brady for many years on Peter Abbate's staff, until Brady had to resign because of his felony arrest and indictment.
The 'Queen of the Click' should gladly explain the relationship between Iwen Chu and IRENE Chu. The QOTC once did a whole piece about it on her blog, and how IRENE Chu was an absolute political hack for Abbate & Co., including Brannan and Gounardes.

Gail, there was no 'gun charge't even though a complainant said that he was menaced by Brady who brandished a gun at the complainant before Brady's rape arrest.
After the police arrived at the scene, they say that they made a search, but they never found the gun.

Assemblyman Peter Abbate did not respond to the NY Post's request for a comment; nor did Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie. With the renewed interest in the case generated by inquiries concerning Iwen Chu's part in all of this, one wonders and hopes that she will be more forthcoming with any information that she might have.

There are no murder or gun charges, and Abbate did make a statement when he fired Brady a day after Brady was arrested and charged in Albany County. Abbate said that he had terminated Joseph Brady when the Brooklyn Assemblyman learned of Brady's arrest only one day after it happened. And these were Abbate's exact words at the time, "This disturbing news is a shock and has completely broken the trust I had in my staff member," Abbate said. "This behavior is inexcusable and he should be held accountable.”

"WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) – One person is in custody after a multi-agency operation shut down a section of Third Avenue in Watervliet for several hours. Police say the individual was taken into custody for questioning related to criminal activities at 439 Third Avenue.
According to a statement from Watervliet Police, federal, state and local law enforcement officials were “conducting court authorized activity” at the residence.... The 400 block of Third Avenue was closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic from around 6 p.m. until shortly before 9 p.m.. Officers are still on scene and the location will remain active while the investigation continues.... Watervliet Police, New York State Police and the F.B.I. were all on scene. A SWAT team was also observed entering and leaving the building.
The situation is under control and the road is opened back up. One person is in custody. There is no threat to the community at this time...." Based upon the very detailed and up to the minute reporting by an Albany area local TV station on October 24th and 25th, 2020, Joseph Brady was arrested in Watervliet, NY, somewhat early on Friday night not on Saturday as most others apparently have been reporting since that time.
The Watervliet Police Department said information was obtained about a resident who might have been in possession of firearms, explosives, and narcotics at 439 3rd Avenue on Saturday. The Watervliet police stated that once they had received sufficient predicate information, a multi-agency investigation was launched, and a search warrant was obtained for the residence.
Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies secured the residence and helped to evacuateit so that it could be searched thoroughly and systematically. Members of The Watervliet Police Department were assisted by the following agencies:
• Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Evidence Recovery Team
• NYSP Bomb Disposal Unit
• Troy Police Emergency Response Team
• Colonie Police Department Special Services Team
THE Watervliet Police spokesperson announce that authorities had collected numerous pieces of evidence, and that the multi-phase investigation remained ongoing. The suspect in question is Joseph Brady[then 40 yoa] was found inside the home at the time the premises had been secured, the search warrant executed, and the investigations conducted.
Brady was questioned there by Watervliet Police Detectives, and he was arrested without incident for charges related to an alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman with other unlawful conduct to a 16-year-old boy. Brady has been charged with multiple crimes including:
• PL 130.65 (2) Sexual Abuse in the 1st degree a class D felony
• PL 260.20 (1) Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the 1st degree a class A misdemeanor
• PL 260.10 (1) Endangering the Welfare of a Child (1) a class A misdemeanor
• Two counts of PL 135.05 Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd degree a class A misdemeanor.....

FYI --- Brady had been paid $108,500 a year as Abbate's legislative director. Abbate [then 71 yoa] is a Brooklyn Machine Democrat. He has been an Assemblyman since 1986; and Abbate chairs the NYS Assembly's Governmental Employees Committee.
