Who knows whether this lurch forward in the polls ahead of other Republicans running for Governor of Michigan, and even vis a vis Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer, will hold up. --- However, so far, the FBI arrest of GOP candidate Ryan Kelley for J6 infractions at the Capitol has only had the effect of boosting his campaign for governor in Michigan
According to National Review --- after Michigan Republican gubernatorial candidate, Ryan Kelley, had been arrested last week, some of his copartisans worked to gin up concern by GOP voters that the event was politically motivated by the Democrats in Michigan. Even a GOP opponent of Kelley's, Kevin Rinke, one of the Republican candidates in the August 2nd GOP Primary, tweeted that “the timing [of the Kelley arrest raised] serious questions....” Another Michigan GOP candidate for governor, Tudor Dixon, asked, “Are we expected to believe the corrupt FBI [only happened to schedule] a raid on Ryan Kelley’s home [around the same time as] the J6 production in DC?... The National Review article went on to point out that --- ".... The Whitmer campaign even tried to take advantage in the immediate aftermath of the arrest. 'We’re running against fringe opponents in Michigan, and this is just the latest sign of how radical the bunch really is,' the campaign wrote in a fundraising email. Whitmer is attempting to paint the entire Republican field as a bunch of rioters like Kelley allegedly was...."
This bungling by the Democrats' operatives inside the DOJ has boosted the GOP's chances in Michigan whether Ryan Kelley wins the August 2nd primary election or not.

Any Republican candidate in 2023 will be having a very tough time gaining traction on many of the law and order issues against Brannan, who seems to be stressing the need to cooperate with the local NYPD Precinsts in order to stay on top of the crimes that people in his district care most about and want kept in check.

TRUMP'S LENGTHY BOMBSHELL RESPONSE TO THE J6 COMMITTEE'S EARLY SESSIONS HITS VERY HARD AND SHOWS HOW HE CAN STEAL THEIR THUNDER WITH THUNDER OF HIS OWN
Former President Trump put out a 12-page statement bashing the House Special Committee's J6 "Capitol-riot investigation" on Monday, saying the House Democrats were trying to stop him from running for president again in 2024. That statement also strongly reiterated his charges that the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen and that President Biden was improperly certified to be President in 2021.

And in it, Trump once again called the House Select Committee investigating the events of J6 a "kangaroo court" --- pointing out that it had no "equal representation" of Republicans and Democrats. According to Trump's brickbat at the J6 Committee and Demo-rat House leadership >>> "The January 6th Unselect Committee is disgracing everything we hold sacred about our Constitution. If they had any real evidence, they'd hold real hearings with equal representation.... They don't, so they use the illegally-constituted committee to put on a smoke and mirrors show for the American people, in a pitiful last-ditch effort to deceive the American public ... again...."
Former President Trump also devoted almost nine pages of his statement to re-assert that the 2020 election was rigged, and making it clear this his supporters went to the Capitol on January 6, 2021 >>> to hold "elected officials accountable for the obvious signs of criminal activity throughout the Election."
