AN UPDATE & BACKFILL DONE AS A FEATURE ARTICLE: THE "NOT NEARLY 'ENOUGH SAID' BY THE BRIAN FOX CAMPAIGN" EDITION

FOR ABOUT A WORKING WEEK NOW, SOCIAL MEDIA (EXCEPT FOR SOME FECKLESS RE-TWEETS) FOR THE BRIAN FOX FOR CITY COUNCIL CAMPAIGN HAS GONE INTO THE STATE OF GLACIAL STASIS --- A DEEP FREEZE THAT IS TURNING INTO A PRESSURE PACKED AND OPAQUE MINI-GLACIER --- PERHAPS, THIS IS GOOD FOR THE OVERALL ENVIRONMENT, BUT IT ISN'T ADVANCING THE BALL TOWARD THE GOAL OF WINNING THE 43RD CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT SEAT IN NOVEMBER, WHOSE FINAL ELECTION DAY IN NOVEMBER ONLY SEEMS TO BE A LONG WAY OFF

SINCE BRIAN FOX' LATEST CAMPAIGN MEME "NYPD LIVES MATTER" WAS POSTED, IT WAS CHALLENGED ON THIS BLOG >>> SPECIFICALLY, BY AN "ANONYMOUS" COMMENTER THAT IS VERY WELL KNOWN TO US, AND WHO IS HELD IN VERY HIGH ESTEEM --- THAT CHALLENGE HAS GONE UNANSWERED EITHER BY THE BRIAN FOX FOR CITY COUNCIL CAMPAIGN OR BRIAN FOX PERSONALLY

BRIAN FOX' AND HIS CAMPAIGN'S FAILURE TO ADDRESS THE CHALLENGE TO DATE AND/OR TO DEFEND THE MEME "NYPD LIVES MATTER" THUS FAR IS A TACTICAL MISTAKE >>> TO CONTINUE TO DO SO WOULD BE TO TURN IT INTO A STRATEGIC BLUNDER.....

Here's what was posted on the Brian Fox Campaign's social media sites about five days ago: "Apr 14 · Public · Enough said. #supportlawenforcement #lawandorder #timeforachange #bayridge #dykerheights #BathBeach #Bensonhurst...."

On the same day, an "Anonymous" commenter on this blog (let's just call him "Jim, very dear to our heart") said the following: "Just today, Brian Fox said that NYPD Lives Matter.... Just what we need another kind of lives matter, instead of 'All lives matter.'... What the hell are NYPD lives, anyway? It's just a PR gimmick and has no moral value whatsoever.... Ask Brian this: just ask him, 'Brian, what is an NYPD life?'... Then ask Fox, 'When does an NYPD life begin and end?'..."

For at least five days since, the folks over at the Fox Campaign have been mute --- who would have guessed that they intended to be quite so literal when they electronically penned this: "... ENOUGH SAID..."

TODAY, WE HERE AT THIS BLOG REPEAT AND REITERATE THE CHALLENGE THROWN AT BRIAN FOX AND HIS CAMPAIGN BY "ANONYMOUS" COMMENTER, "JIM, VERY DEAR TO OUR HEART" WITH THE FULL FORMAL ENDORSEMENT AND IMPIMATUR OF THIS BLOG [BUT WITH SLIGHT EDITORIAL, GRAMMATICAL-SYNTACTICAL TWEAKING]:

TO THE 2021 BRIAN FOX FOR CITY COUNCIL CAMPAIGN >>> Just what do we need another kind of "... lives matter" formulation, instead of sticking with 'All lives matter ?!

What the hell are "NYPD Lives" anyway?!?!?! (It just sounds to us like a PR gimmick intended to sound better than "NYPD BUDGETS"; and as far as we can see, its use has no moral value or justification whatsoever).

Brian, please tell us, what is an "NYPD Life" ?!?!?!?!?!  (If you have a clue)

Brian, also explain when an "NYPD Life" begins and ends ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!   (That's so we can amend, edit and/or annotate our "Baltimore Catechism[s]")

THIS JUST IN: THE "PASSING IN THE ELECTRONIC MAIL" EDITION

WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF COMPOSING AND POSTING THE ABOVE ARTICLE ABOUT BRIAN FOX' FAILURE TO MAINTAIN AN ACTIVE SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE, THE FOLLOWING ITEM WAS POSTED ON HIS FB PAGE:

"1 hr · Public · Our website has just launched! Please visit www.brianfox4nyc.com to gain an understanding of my platform and to donate to the campaign. Please have a look, your support is needed to flip this seat red in November and to bring back our neighborhood!
brianfox4nyc.com"

We checked out that site, and although it has some interesting things on it (we'll get to those another time), it didn't substantively remedy or even cover a single thing that we raised above vis a vis Brian Fox' campaign social media five-day plus hiatus from social media, and his running away from critical questions about the meme "NYPD Lives Matter".....

Running away from "NYPD Lives Matter" is typical spin by fat boy Brannen.

You see Gale "NYPD Lives Matter" is all it takes to win. Justin voted to defund the police by 1 billion dollars. Obviously justin is trying to deflect from that vote since he now knows he has no primary.

RESPONSE: THE "THIS AIN'T NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT BRANNAN AND EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE BROOKLYN REPUBLICANS AND CONSERVATIVES, AND THE FOX CAMPAIGN" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:00 PM"

YOU ALL THINK THAT SLOGANS AND SLOGANEERING ARE A SUBSTITUTE FOR POLICY AND ADVOCACY

None of this is Brannan spin, all of it is our questions about whether "NYPD Lives" exist at all; and if so, what is the nature of "NYPD Lives" ?

Are those with "NYPD Lives" poor, poor creatures that have nothing else but their "NYPD Lives" ??? Or are those with "NYPD Lives" poor, poor human beings, or are they some type of poor, poor sub-human sub-species ?????

Maybe, this is too tough or touchy for Brian and his brain trust to talk about..... So, let's keep it simple >>> WHAT DOES BRIAN FOX MEAN WHEN HE SAYS THAT "NYPD LIVES MATTER" ? There, that ain't a hard question. >>> And Brian and company can be sure that we do expect a responsive answer shortly.

"End Domestic Terrorism"

Do you mean Domestic Terrorism like the Insurrection or Domestic Terrorism like Summer Stroll getting cancelled?

Galewyn, There's no such thing as BLUE LIVES...Stop comparing your JOB with my LIFE...A CAREER is a choice, my BLACKNESS is not. Nobody ever said "All Lives Matter" or "Blue Lives Matter" until Black people began saying "Black Lives Matter." There is no such thing as a “NYPD Life”. Law enforcement officers are not a race and they are not a monolith, either. “NYPD Lives” (whatever the hell that means) and Black lives are not the same. Brian Fox is a buffoon. Saying "NYPD LIVES MATTER" is rooted in anti-blackness and Brian you sound racist as hell

RESPONSE: THE "SLOW DOWN AND STOP RANTING" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:07 PM"

WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT "BLACK LIVES MATTER" --- CERTAINLY NOT WE AT THIS BLOG..... AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE, NEITHER HAS BRIAN FOX, BECAUSE ALL I'VE SEEN FROM HIM IS THE SLOGAN "NYPD LIVES MATTER" --- HOWEVER, I DO SUSPECT THAT YOU SEE LIFE THROUGH A TINTED AND DISTORTED LENSE, SINCE YOU STARTED OUT BY SAYING THERE IS NO SUCH THINGS AS "BLUE LIVES".....

I WOULDN'T COMPARE MY JOB TO YOUR LIFE, BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A JOB.....

The syntax of your comment is so poor, that I can't tell if you are addressing me, or attacking me, or addressing Brian Fox, or attacking Brian Fox, or all of the above, or none of the above and you're just trying to make a point.....

Who is City Hal ?

Anonymous said...

All of this bull hockey malarkey since Brian Fox is Dominican

Anonymous said...

Brian Fox is "Dominican"? I don't think that there are that many Dominicans named "Brian Fox"; so what is his real name?

Anonymous said...

City Hal is the new super-computer that will runs NYC in place of a mayor.

Anonymous said...

Brian's real last name is Fontzopoulos. I don't know where he took Fox from.

RESPONSE: THE "NOT TOM WOLFE" EDITION

TO: BRIAN FOX & MOST OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE

ANY ATTEMPT TO BREATH REAL LIFE AND MEANING INTO THE BRIAN FOX CAMPAIGN FOR CITY COUNCIL IS LIKELY TO BE A FUTLE VENTURE --- AND I CERTAINLY DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING FROM MR. FOX THAT MIGHT REFLECT ANY OF THE UNDERSTANDING AND NUANCE PRESENTED OVER FIFTY YEARS AGO BY THE GREAT TOM WOLFE IN "RADICAL CHIC & MAU-MAUING THE FLAK CATCHERS" AND HIS RELATED ARTICLES IN THE MSM OF THE TIME

HOWEVER, THIS "NYPD LIVES MATTER" FORMULATION IS AN ABOMINABLE EXPRESSION OF GOD-KNOWS-WHAT --- AND AS LONG AS FOX PUTS IT OUT THERE UNVARNISHED AND UNEXPLAINED HE RISKS BE PART AND PARCEL OF THE ABOMINATION

So far, the Republican-Conservative candidate for City Council in the 43rd District hasn't shown that he has a clue what "NYPD Lives Matter" might mean, or why his campaign team might have decided that he should parrot the words >>> AT THIS OR ANY OTHER TIME <<<
