Surrogate’s Court assignments — lucrative opportunities to administer wills and estates while collecting a percentage of the assets[']...." --- That is a clear and unambiguous >>> CRIMINAL QUID PRO QUO <<< for a access to the ballot on the Queens GOP line
This article is a "smoking gun" even before the commission of a crime --- NOW, THAT'S A FIRST --- and it breaks new ground for stupidity even FOR REPUBLICANS
Right now, the Queens Democratic machine has the Surrogate's work in Queens locked up tight as a drum --- with the fiasco of Tiffany Caban headed toward being the Queens DA, some in the Queens GOP see an opportunity to pry away some of that source of "lucrative opportunities" for some of the more deserving GOP lawyers in Queens --- AH! WHAT A COUNTRY.....

Don't be fooled by the title, even though it names Greg Lasak and was intended as a puff piece for him (and everybody knows that his man Quirk loves political puff pieces and has long been quite comfortable with criminals and criminality), the article makes it clear that the same deal would go for Melinda Katz as well.

If the candidate who never expected to run a real race is no longer the candidate, and a Democrat replaces him, altruism suggests that County Dems will think more respectfully of County Republicans. Which could mean they are included when someone must be assigned work by a judge ...

I guess the Queens GOP forgot about Ex State senator Malcolm Smith who is still serving his 7 year sentence for offering Dan Halloran $20,000 for the Wilson/Pakula to run for Mayor.

At any rate, it's just another example of thoughtless pro-Greg Lasak chatter benefitting the candidacy of Tiffany Caban at the expense of the one person that might be able to stop her, Melinda Katz.
Melinda Katz told the Daily News and Eric Ulrich shes not running on Republican line. Looks like GOP stuck with Lasak who will get his usual 14%
Ulrich should run for DA. Why let that GED go to waste.
Caban is very strong in West and Northwest Queens; where is Lasak strong?

If there is anyplace where one might say that Greg Lasak has some strength, it's where Councilman Eric Ulrich and GOP County Leader Joann Ariola call their base, some of Ozone Park, Hamilton and Howard Beach, Broad Channel, and that built up sand bar from Rockaway Beach out to Breezy.
Since Melinda Katz seems to have said "NO !!!" to a GOP run for DA, the Republicans need Gregory Lasak as much as Lasak needs them..... Don't be surprised if it gets done, in spite of any "smoking gun" of the obvious corruption involving the Queens Surrogate, and even some pre-petitioning devious planning involving putting Danial Kogan's name on the GOP petitions with his not intending to actually run for DA.
Ulrich (Liams buddy) and Ariola got busted- again for their incompetence and betrayal of the GOP
Liam was in Albany for the GOP convention putting Langworthy as chair..I was there and let's just say it was a very late night for Liam..
It is properly described as a 'disease'.
But Liam is just following in the footsteps of that well known Bay Ridge GOP Convention lounge lizard, Marty Golden.
