FLASH UPDATE: THE "VERY SIGNIFICANT POLLING RESULT" EDITION

***  FORTY-ONE PERCENT (41%) OF THOSE POLLED BELIEVE THAT THIS ELECTION MIGHT BE >>>  STOLEN  <<<  FROM DONALD TRUMP  ***

---   IF THE FOCUS SHIFTS TO "REPUBLICANS" THEN THE PERCENTAGE GROWS TO SEVENTY-THREE (73%) [THAT'S ALMOST THREE-OUT-OF-FOUR SELF-IDENTIFIED "REPUBLICANS" DOUBTING THE VALIDITY OF THE NEXT NATIONAL ELECTION]

IF THAT POLLING NUMBER ACTUALLY REFLECTS THE BELIEFS OF SUCH A REAL PERCENTAGE OF AMERICANS AND SELF-IDENTIFIED "REPUBLICANS,"  THEN THE NATION'S FAITH IN OUR ELECTORAL SYSTEM AND THE UNDERLYING VALIDITY OF OUR DEMOCRATIC-REPUBLIC IS BEGINNING TO UNWIND ---  IT SOON MIGHT CRACK AND WE WOULD THEN BE ENTERING A NEW REBELLIOUS AND REVOLUTIONARY PHASE OF OUR POLITICS AND GOVERNANCE

According to an on-line report on the Time Magazine web,  "Though his support is slipping, Republican nominee Donald Trump’s claims that the election could be stolen from him are starting to set in with voters, according to a new poll....  Some 41% of voters surveyed for a new Politico/Morning Consult poll agreed with Trump’s statement that the election could be 'stolen' from him as a result of 'widespread voter fraud.' Among Republicans, nearly three-fourths of voters agree the election could be rigged against Trump, while only 17% of Democrats were in agreement....  The majority of Americans, 60%, believe it’s “necessary” to raise questions about election results because a foreign government or fraudulent voters could compromise the election...." (See "41% Believe Election Might Be Stolen from Donald Trump, Poll Finds" by Maya Rhodan, 10/17/16, Time Magazine [http://time.com/4533059/donald-trump-election-poll-hillary-clinton/]).

Here's what the folks from Politico say:  "The American electorate has turned deeply skeptical about the integrity of the nation's election apparatus, with 41 percent of voters saying November's election could be "stolen" from Donald Trump due to widespread voter fraud....  The new POLITICO/ Morning Consult poll -- conducted among 1,999 registered voters Oct. 13 through Oct. 15 -- shows that Trump’s repeated warnings about a “rigged” election are having effect: 73 percent of Republicans think the election could be swiped from him. Just 17 percent of Democrats agree with the prospect of massive fraud at the ballot box...  The public sentiment is beginning to reflect Trump's campaign message. Over the last week, the GOP nominee has intensified his criticism of the U.S. electoral system, much to the chagrin of elected Republicans, who think it threatens the peaceful transfer of power. Trump calls the process rigged, and has said the media is colluding with Hillary Clinton to throw the presidential race in her favor...."

If the latest wiki leaks came out a month ago it would have been a game changer. Now it seems to be lost to Trump/Cosby drama & the new and improved invasion of Iraq.

After the last week of press Trumps numbers show he can still win. Or, is it just that Hillary is so bad?

UPDATE: THE “BLOOMBERG NEWS COVERAGE OF STATE DEPARTMENT’S ATTEMPTS TO COVER FOR HILLARY’S ‘CLASSIFIED’ E-MAILS

AT LEAST ONE MSM SOURCE HAS DONE A GOOD PIECE OF ANALYSIS AND REPORTING ABOUT HIGH-LEVEL STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS' INVOLVEMENT WITH HILLARY CLINTON’S PROBLEMATIC E-MAILS

BLOOMBERG NEWS TEAM REFERS TO SOME TOP STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS AS A “SHADOW GOVERNMENT” --- THOSE OFFICIALS MET REGULARLY TO DISCUSS WAYS TO COVER FOR CERTAIN PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE "CLASSIFICATION" OF HILLARY CLINTON’S E-MAILS

According to a report from the folks at Bloomberg News --- “A State Department team responsible for determining which records should be kept secret felt ‘immense pressure’ not to label any of about 300 e-mails found on Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server as classified, according to interview summaries released by the FBI…. Officials from the State Department’s Information Programs and Services office began a review in March 2015 of 296 e-mails that were set to be turned over to a House committee investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya…. ‘IPS felt immense pressure to complete the review quickly and not label anything as classified,” according to interview notes from a State Department official whose name wasn’t disclosed in the FBI summary…. The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday released 100 pages of redacted interview notes, known as 302s, the latest batch of summaries made public from its inquiry into Clinton’s use of private e-mail for official business while secretary of state. She has called using the private system a “mistake,” but her Republican opponent Donald Trump has said it’s a crime and told her in the second presidential debate that “you’d be in jail” if he wins on Nov. 8….” (See “Pressure Cited Against Marking Clinton E-Mails Classified” by Chris Strohm, Andrew M Harris & Ben Brody, 10/17/16, Bloomberg News/ Politics [http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-10-17/officials-cited-pressure-not-to-mark-clinton-e-mails-classified]).

The Bloomberg article cited above went on to state this: “…. [Sub-headline] ‘Shadow Government’…. The FBI summaries also indicated that “a powerful group of very high-ranking State officials,” referred to as “The Shadow Government,” met every Wednesday afternoon to discuss all things related to releasing or withholding e-mails that were on Clinton’s server, according to the interview notes…. The group included Kennedy and Jonathan Finer, who serves as current Secretary of State John Kerry’s chief of staff, according to the notes….”

Even CNN (Clinton News Network) thinks the Kennedy deal put to FBI is bad stuff.

The national polls are meaningless. And the state polls, particularly in swing states, show a convincing Clinton victory is at hand. And since cheapskate Trump refused to build a professional campaign with the ability to turnout voters, it's over.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah. The commenter above has it all figured out. Trump will lose because nobody puts a door hanger on their house so they'll forget to vote. Hey Mr "professional campaign". This is not a race for City Council. Trump won the nomination because all his loser opponents hired "consultants" while Trump conquered the air war.

Oh yeah. Mr Amateur above has it all figured out. Trump won the nomination because none of his 15 opponents took him seriously early enough, and FOX and the other news outlets gave Trump enough free time for five campaigns.

Trump is losing key swing states. The math for him in the Electoral College just isn't there. It's not like a City Council race where you can turn your base out and come from behind.

UPDATE: THE "SOMEBODY AT THE STATE DEPARTMENT LOOKING FOR 'FAVORS' FROM THE FBI" EDITION

NEW NAME SURFACES IN WA-PO ARTICLE ABOUT RECLASSIFICATION OF HILLARY CLINTON E-MAIL >>> SENIOR FBI AGENT BRIAN MCCAULEY <<< IN WA-PO INTERVIEW AGENT ACKNWLEDGED THAT HE OFFERED >>> TO DO A FAVOR FOR A FAVOR <<< BUT HE DENIES THAT THERE WAS ANY "QUID PRO QUO" INVOLVED

THIS STORY IS STARTING TO GET SOME LEGS

According to an article in the Washington Post --- "FBI official Brian McCauley had been trying for weeks to get his contact at the State Department to approve his request to put two bureau employees back in Baghdad.... Around May 2015, Patrick Kennedy finally called back.... 'He said, 'Brian. Pat Kennedy. I need a favor,”' McCauley recalled in an interview Tuesday. 'I said, "Good, I need a favor. I need our people back in Baghdad.'... Then Kennedy, a longtime State Department official, explained what he wanted in return: 'There’s an email. I don’t believe it has to be classified.'... The email was from Hillary Clinton’s private server, and Kennedy wanted the FBI to change its determination that it contained classified information. McCauley and others ultimately rejected the request, but the interaction — which McCauley said lasted just minutes over maybe two conversations — has become the latest focal point of the bitter 2016 presidential campaign. The Democratic candidate’s critics have suggested that the conversation between the State Department and the FBI demonstrated inappropriate collusion to benefit Clinton.... In an hour-long interview with The Washington Post, his first public comments on the matter, McCauley acknowledged that he offered to do a favor in exchange for another favor, but before he had any inkling of what Kennedy wanted. The FBI and the State Department have denied that McCauley and Kennedy ever engaged in a “quid pro quo.”" (See "‘I need a favor’: FBI official at center of alleged Clinton email ‘quid pro quo’ speaks out" by Mike Zapotosky, 10/18/16, Washington Post [http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/%E2%80%98i-need-a-favor%E2%80%99-fbi-official-at-center-of-alleged-clinton-email-%E2%80%98quid-pro-quo%E2%80%99-speaks-out/ar-AAj6OEj?li=AA5a8k&ocid=spartandhp]).

This just starting to get really interesting. The Washington Post report about its interview with FBI Agent McCauley is not the "END" of this story; actually it's a lot closer to a good start.....

None of the Hillary issues will matter. Trump says he is a sex offender. I believe him.

You are nuts. Trump never said that he was a sex offender.....

Now Ecuador cuts off Assanges internet access. Assange may be wearing out his welcome after 2 years of crashing on the embassy couch. Plus, I heard Assange never tips the Pizza guy.

Anonymous said...

Kerry probably is getting more credit at the White House and with Hillary for his diplomacy resulting in the Ecuadoreans' cutting off Aasange's WikiLinks than anything he did with the Iranians

Meanwhile Donald Segretti is sending provocatuers to Trump rallies to create chaos.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "WHO CHECKS THESE 'FACT-CHECKERS'?" EDITION

A SNARKY BROOKE BALDWIN WAS TRYING TO PUT DONALD TRUMP IN HIS PLACE FOR HIS PROPOSAL FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT ESTABLISHING CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS --- SHE SAID THAT THEY ALREADY EXISTED FOR CONGRESSMEN

NOT ONLY DOES DONALD TRUMP CAUSE MAINSTREAM MEDIA TYPES, LIKE BROOKE BALDWIN, TO BE COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AS REPORTERS & COMMENTATORS, HE MAKES THEM ACT AS IF THEY ARE VERY STUPID & UNINFORMED TO BOOT..... B.B. ALSO SAID "... correct me..." --- AND BOY DID THEY EVER !!!

According to Breitbart News --- "On Tuesday’s”CNN Newsroom,” anchor Brooke Baldwin asserted that “there already are are term limits” on members of Congress.... Baldwin said, “[L]et me just relay this to everyone, that apparently, from the Trump camp, there is another major announcement that Trump will make today as part of his pledge to ‘drain the swamp,’ we keep hearing ‘drain the swamp’ in Washington. He says, ‘If I’m elected president, I will push for a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress,’ correct me, there already are term limits, so what does he mean?(See "CNN's Baldwin: 'There already are' term limits for congressmen" by Ian Hatchett, 10/18/16, Breitbart News [with video link of Brooke Baldwin's screw-up][http://www.breitbart.com/video/2016/10/18/cnns-baldwin-there-already-are-term-limits-for-members-of-congress/]).

This ain't just a Breitbart exclusive; Fox News, the whole conservative and alt-right blogosphere, and even YouTube have talked-about and/or shown CNN's Brooke Baldwin screwing the pooch on her CNN cable show about the already existing congressional term limits.

Why the about face Galey puss?

Brooke always speaks well of you

Anonymous said...

Point 1 - Brooke was reading from a teleprompter

Point 2 - I find it to be editorally insincere on the part of this blog not to mention that Brooke was involved with certain members of the staff at GWM before the accusations of missing office supplies became an issue.

Point 3 - Did it ever occur to you that this was just a ploy to get a husband?

Anonymous said...

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do members of congress get paid?

Anonymous said...

Gail when you are right you are right. The Brooke Baldwin clip exposed how shallow the talking heads are, and, how reluctant the other know it alls are to correct a major gaffe. Dana Bash, a/k/a Dana Cohen, tried to smooth it over with a reference to the Presidents term limits. Oh, does a President have term limits? Thanks Dana.

Boy oh boy. That was some debate. Now Texas is a lock for Trump.
