The Board of Elections --- Abrupt Departure Edition

BOE Commissioner Simon Shamoun abruptly left a Commissioners' Hearing with a well known election lawyer seeking to give him something.   Could it be that Simon Shamoun, an attorney and a public official, was trying to avoid personal legal service of some sort ?  That would be unseemly to say the least.

One suspects that there are a few very specific subpoenas out there in connection with giving testimonial evidence in Brooklyn Supreme Court concerning the irregular handling of petitions at the Board of Elections leading to an alleged shredding of a volume of signatures and the substitution of a photocopied volume in its place.

Tomorrow's session before  the Hon. David Schmidt should be very interesting. A subpoena was later served on BOE counsel Steve Richman for (a) specific BOE witness(es).

Will you all be a part of this noose tighten as we take you away or detain you for up to 3 to 4 weeks while we figure out who is involved in shredding very important political papers and tampering in justice, maybe we will be sitting in cars taking pictures of who, what and where you go and just maybe this is a form of terror that could harm the very fabric of our political system.
You better think before you write on these blogs because you could be classified a terrorist and called down to testify in a Federal Probe and you could, well you read in between the lines now if you can and we do hope you turn over the persons or person who did this to the greatest system in the world.

It is ironic that no sooner does Golden steals the Commissioner and becomes the BIG HONCHO at the BOE (only by threats and intimidation), Golden and all his pals, Kassar, Riley, Konstomanis, Shamoun, Quaglione, Clorinda and the BOE people were threatened, are all up to their ears in this scandal.

Lets see who has a lot to gain by the shredding:

a)all indications are that David A was in the room and has his fingerprints all over the schredding - it appears that all mentioned above have covered this up, but when the layers of the onion start to get peeled away, every so slowly-but with determination - the heads will start to roll and all the scapegoats will turn and tell the truth;

b) Clorinda, David's mom, and the 46 co leader with the new commissioner, who by the way should have resigned as Dist Leader when he became commissioner needs to protect her son - after all he is a star at the Board. I heard he even works an hour or so a day, when he is not doing his private work, scheduling parties, on the internet on his computer, iphone, tablet or whatever the kids use these days - would be funny if someone subpoenaed all of this phone and text messages since he started working at the BOE. Bet he worked at least 10 hrs in the years he has been there....

c) Simon, he is in the deepest water - a young lawyer who has covered up the mess to protect her co-leaders son; a commissioner who has being lying about what happened since it happened, and it happened on his watch - and, he is the District Leader in the district where the petitions were shredded and he and his co leader have the most to gain by the shredding and the most to lose if thos petitions were found to be valid.....

d) Diane - I still cant figure her out. She should have been fired years ago but the Brooklyn Rep didnt fire her...then Golden, who has publicly wanted her fired for years, cuts a deal with her....and she has told five diff stories as to what happened here

COnnect the dots my friend.....

What exactly were the five different stories that "Diane..." told ? -- or four -- or three -- or two...?

Whose petition was shredded?

Friends at the BOE told me that there have been numerous accounts of what really happened...with many inconsistencies

UPDATE: Commissioner Shamoun’s hasty exit had everything to do with the crowded seating for the BOE hearings for Brooklyn — and the interesting seating plan that resulted from that.

Some “Republicans for Change” operatives, who also happen to work for State Senator Martin Golden, were seated behind a hard working election lawyer, who was double-tasking during the BOE hearings. The attorney was filling out subpoenas and money orders and other papers related to an election case in Kings County Supreme Court that was adjourned until tomorrow, and which related to the allegedly shredded Republican petition for the 46th AD. Obviously, the “Republicans for Change” operatives were not following their “eyes in the boat” drill from when they were seaman recruits, because they were all “Nosey Parker” over and around the attorney’s shoulders and got plenty of good looks at his papers that way ( the lawyer also had to rise several times to address the Board and occasionally would put his other papers down to do it – so far, nobody says they actually saw anyone disturb the lawyer’s papers whenever they had been put aside). Obviously, the RFC/Golden operatives saw at least one specific name on the subpoenas that they recognized, because there was at least a little excitement and moving around at one point.

Oddly, after the attorney had several times asked Commissioner Shamoun to recuse himself for obvious conflicts of interest in the cases involving the 46th AD, and Commissioner Shamoun’s repeatedly refusing to do so, after the 46th AD cases had been passed upon, but before all the other Commissioners’ business had been completed, Shamoun suddenly decided he had to depart. One can easily guess what caused Commissioner Shamoun to do his imitation of State Senator Martin Golden in the NY State Senate Chamber when the Firearms Micro-stamping Bill came up for a vote – Shamoun did his version of the Golden two-step a/k/a “really making your presence felt by suddenly being absent” quickly and without announcement.

Even though Shamoun was more gone than that Jelekal Cat, McCavitty, the hard working attorney gave a copy of the Shamoun subpoena to BOE Counsel Richman for personal service. Shamoun was expected to be at the 2PM BOE Hearings for Queens.

One can only guess what else the RFC/Golden operatives saw during the BOE hearings.

CORRECTION:
Paragrapgh in comment above -- "Even though Shamoun was more gone than that Jelekal Cat, McCavitty, the hard working attorney gave a copy of the Shamoun subpoena to BOE Counsel Richman for personal service. Shamoun was expected to be at the 2PM BOE Hearings for Queens...." Should read as follows: "Even though Shamoun was more gone than that Jellicle Cat 'Macavity,' the hard working attorney in the hearing room the gave a copy of the Shamoun subpoena to BOE Counsel Richman for personal service. Shamoun was expected to be at the BOE later that day at the 2PM BOE Hearings for Queens."
