GOP organizational fight [partially] moved into the Board of Elections — “Republicans for Change” claim and appear to have a larger slate of County Committee candidates — Expected that several State Committee (District Leader) candidates will fall easily — So far “Republicans for Change” show $1000 in donations (from Marty Golden), but they have spent well over $15,000

County GOP insider concedes that it might  “... look like Golden’s people have a few more candidates depending on how you account for some of the AD slates...” BUT he adds  “...this is far from over...”

“Republicans for Change” being looked at for dodgy filings and unlawful inter-party activities

I’ve had several conversations with a couple of Kings County Chairman Craig Eaton’s most trusted advisors. They have confirmed, one directly and the other indirectly, that there have been overtures from agents of the so-called “Republicans for Change” to make a  “DEAL” to put this fight for control of the Brooklyn GOP to bed, without any more blood of State Senator Martin Golden on the floor. Those overtures were immediately rejected by Eaton and the GOP County team. In addition, there are some indicators that those overtures and other “evidence,” in the petitions and elsewhere, may spell longer term problems for some key agents and supporters of the “Republicans for Change” faction.

Several Republican State Committee candidates submitted very weak petitions and had General Objections filed against them at the Board of Elections. They are listed here with their assembly district and probable intra-party affiliation, as follows : 41st AD- Gladys Pemberton (County GOP); 45th AD- Mikhail Yusupov (Reps for Change); 47th AD- Peter Cipriano (Reps for Change); 48th AD- Michael Fettman (County GOP); 49th AD- Stephen Maresca (LaGuardia Club); 50th AD- Victor Best (Reps for Change); 52nd AD- Joseph Messineo & Sylvia Chase (Reps for Change); 60th AD- Belinda Lindros & Leroy Bates (nominally with County GOP). It is very likely that they will have their names stricken from the GOP primary ballot or roster of State Committee members at some stage of the BOE certification-objection process, or if followed-up by legal proceedings, by the court.

In addition, the following candidates for Republican State Committee submitted facially sufficient petitions, but have been objected to and will require a BOE analysis and determination of specifications, if any are filed at the BOE, to determine whether they will remain on the ballot or roster of State Committee members: 45th AD- Boris Pincus (County GOP); 46th AD - Dominick Sarta & Clorinda Annarummo ( Reps for Change); 59th AD - Edward Martano ( County GOP).

JULY 2013  FILINGS BY “REPUBLICANS FOR CHANGE”

On another front, recent financial disclosures filed at the NYS Board of Elections [ “2013 July Periodic”] show that the oddly-named “Republicans for Change” [listed on NYS BOE files as C00791 – REPUBLICANS FOR CHANGE – 173 Gelston Ave. #3c –  Brooklyn NY 11209 Status = ACTIVE] have pushed their accounting pencil in rather strange and problematic ways.  The “2013 July Periodic Report Summary Page” lists “...Contributions  $1,000.00...” and oddly “... Total Expenses  $.00 [—]  Closing Balance    $1,000.00...” The “SCHEDULE: C  OTHER MONETARY” shows a “06/07/13...[donation from] “FRIENDS OF MARTY GOLDEN... 125 LABAU AV STATEN ISLAND NY 10301 [for] $1,000.00...” and the “2013 SCHEDULE: N OUTSTANDING LIABILITIES/LOANS” shows “[expenditures of  $15,165.22  all to]  “BRANFORD COMMUNICATIONS” for “CLUB MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT[S]” and “COUNTY COMMITTEE RECRUIITMENT” (sic)  “with “$15,167.22... [remaining] OUTSTANDING”

In other words “Republicans for Change” only showed a $1000 donation from “Friends of Marty Golden” and spending of over $15,000 for mailings (all still unpaid). However, the “Republicans for Change” filings  don’t mention any costs or donations in kind of the two major events that were the object of those mailings, one was held at Golden’s Bay Ridge Manor and the other at Garguilo’s.

On still another front, legal research is being conducted and evidence gathered concerning “inter-party raiding” based on a pattern of activities by non-Republicans by and on behalf of the so-called rump caucus “Republicans for Change”.

Functions at the Bay Ridge Manoe !! If Marty spent 15k of party money than it means he got 14k out of it. From his days as a narcotics cop Marty has always been a dollar for dollar type of guy.

I smell an out of state Democ- RAT.... but you're right that MG hasn't really spent very much of his own cash on all this "take out Eaton as County Leader" brouhaha.

Anyways, there might be a "money trail" story to look into with this "Republicans for Change" filing that is obviously incomplete at this time.... it suggests something about what might be going on.

So far Marty hasn't spent any of what you call "party money." However, somebody might be planning to do that indirectly or with a long-range plan. For instance, just like with some "hostile takeovers" in the world of finance --- if he/they wind up winning, look for Marty Golden and his "Republicans for Change" to use Brooklyn GOP funds and fundraising to pay-off any debts incurred by Golden and his allies in their efforts to take over the party.

Also, getting access to all the Brooklyn GOP money and fundraising might be what Golden's main, or even only, reason for trying to take over the party was in the first place.

So if Eaton thinks that he might lose this thing, what does he need to do in the nature of a "poison pill" strategy. We'll all think about all of that for a while.

Let's see what happens next.

Eaton should just sit back and watch the fires burn. He really has nothing to lose. It is a true win-win situation for him. If he wins, he proves Golden is weak - which he has proven himself in the 2012 election by losing his own neighborhood and probably his own block. And if Eaton loses, he only lost because Golden threatened all BOE workers to toe the line or else......It is disgraceful what Golden has done to the poor people who work at the Board - his veiled threats were dispicable and he should be ashamed of himself for stooping to that level. He has told many of my friends "I control the BOE now". I am the boss! Impressive that they each have the same amount of County Committee when Golden now "controls" as he says, the BOE employees.

Many people have told me that Eaton has been a great chairman for 6 year - won two special elections - had headliners at each year's Lincoln Dinner - Tom Ridge, Rudy G, Michael Reagan to name a few - opened a storefront office in the heart of Brooklyn - moved the Brooklyn GOP events and Holiday Party's outside of Bay Ridge and the Manor - raised money each year - brought in new leaders and other republicans - he EVEN was out throwing Golden's name into the 2013 Mayoral Race mix on NY 1 and a few other shows and papers in early 2013. Eaton was a true supporter of Golden for over 15 years. The only thing he didnt do was spend all of the County money at the Manor....what a true shame - what greed, power and egomania could do to an old man - how old is he again - 63 - time to retire back to the catering business - I'll take the Salmon please...

Please tell me their are some honest people in Politics, it seems everything in the Newspaper is negative.

Why?

You all know this is the greatest form of Government in the world and I love it and I hope you all do

Why is their so much negative writing in the Newspapers, Television and Radio?

Why do the they all play upon negative stories and in my opinion they create much of the confusion and why don't they carry more nice stories on the front cover of the daily;s and on the first 10 pages.

Maybe they should put all the nasty stuff in a section called the nasty section for those that like to be depressed and love soap operas.

Maybe if the people that read the newspapers go on strike for a week or two and Newspapers revenue starts to fall and we stop listening to the News things would start to get better.

Maybe if we all just purchased made in America, just maybe we would have more jobs here and maybe we all should not buy made in China items and maybe we should all complain about foreign countries burning our flag and maybe we should write millions of letters and tell them our vets came back from Iraq and the other war and many can't find work and so many are killing themselves.

Does anybody really care?

Maybe President Obama who I believe I voted for should have guts and do what President Roosevelt did and create work building the Infrastructure of America.

Maybe he should let the Army build basements in Tornado areas that way thousands of people will not die every year.

Maybe we should not buy cars from overseas and build Detroit back up.

Maybe President Obama who I love and I know in my heart is a good man and remember he is the Commander In Chief should tell Foreign Countries if you burn my flag we will not give you aid anymore

Tell them President Obama 2,700,000 died since The Revolution War and 40, 000 MIA and they burn our flag are they crazy or are we crazy?

The terrorists in Cuba want Color TV's, they want this and that.

Maybe we should close Cuba down and put them on a Battleship and take it out to the middle of the Atlantic, take our personal off and wave to them bye bye or better yet take them to The North Pole and give them warm clothes, boots and 30 days of food and water and let them go and if they can find their way back they are free.

Maybe we should stop worrying about Immigration so much and all go back to where our forefathers came from because we are all immigrants and give the country back to The America Indians,

My son who was 10 at the time many years ago and on the way to a little league game after listening to his
mother and her mother fighting told me
Daddy Why Can;t We All Be Friends.
I patted him on the head and told that would be nice son.

Just maybe we should listening to the little kid in all of us and maybe we should just and be nice to one another

Here we use the term "Maroon" --- except for two special cases referred to as ...#1 and ...#2.

...#1 and ...#2 are now in a secret bunker/"cave" deep below stately Wayne Manor working on petition specs.

Soldier on, Knight and Squire, soldier on....
