It's a win-win for the Eaton faction of the Brooklyn GOP --- it allows them to influence some key Democrat races in heavily Democrat areas, and it saps the dwindling GOP strength for one of Eaton's local annoyances --- the present County Chairman of the Brooklyn Republican Organization, Ted Ghorra
Guess what ??? The current "Chair" doesn't like the idea of the prior "Chair" --- even just a little bit.....

It is brilliant. Eaton does it again- always thinking outside the box. The Socialist Democrats in the NYS Senate and Assembly keep making laws that allow crime and criminals to flourish in NYC. By having Republicans change their registration (temporarily) merely to vote in the Dem primary on August 23 JUST to try to elect moderate Democrats and not socialist Democrats could be the change that it is needed to change the laws back to where they need to be.
If you didnt listen on Tuesday you should listen to the Podcast of Tuesday's Cats at Night show where Eaton is a Guest Host with the Billionaire John Cats. They discussed the main problem in NYC - CRIME, and how the residents of NYC need to stop it.
Eaton didnt say for Republicans to become Democrats - he said they should change their registration just for the 8/23 primary..very smart.
Take advantage of a loophole to try to elect reasonable candidates.
Ghorra is a spineless and weak chairman - and he is afraid of any new ideas. He has no ingenuity or knowledge of what is actually happening here.
And look at the sad sack of candidates he is running this cycle. I bet not one of them can even get over 10% of the vote.
Fox - who is he and why does he think he is such a great candidate?
Labella - No Shot
Federov - Sweating now that Tirone is in the race
Krasny - wasnt he arrested for Fraud?
Kugel and Novakhov - where did he find them?
Voting for any of these candidates is a waste because they cant win any general election against any Democrat. But if the republicans in Brooklyn can vote in the Dem primary and select a moderate Dem to run and win, maybe we can change the state leg and have the bail reform law changed, the discovery rules changed, and the crim just reform laws reversed. It is worth a shot.

Of Course Ghorra doesnt like it. Because then all his candidates wont get 10% on the general election day but will only get 1%
These are desparate times and they call for desparate measures.
But won't this tactic only mean something in just a few state senate or congrssional races throughout the whole state; and in races like the one between Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler or the one between Sean Patrick Maloney and Alissandra Biaggi, does it make any difference at all?
The same is true about the Brooklyn state senate primaries of Yassky against Gounardes, or the challengers lined up against incunbent Democrat State Senators Kavanagh and Parker.
Ghorra sounds sensible and standing for REAL republicans.
I saw Boss Brannan yucking it up with Eaton at Boss Long's funeral. Kassar was nowhere to be found. Ghorra was waiting on line in the rain like a shmuck while Eaton and Brannan were rushed in the side door like the royal dignitaries they are. Clearly Brannan is the real boss in this town. He's the real back-slapper. Laughing heartily and calling all the shots. God Bless Mike Long.
