The NAACP lawsuit --- brought in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. --- claims former president Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani violated the Ku Klux Klan Act by conspiring with white supremacist groups to incite the insurrection
According to a report by Maya King in Politico, "On the heels of the Senate's acquittal of Donald Trump, the NAACP, Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson and civil rights law firm Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll filed a lawsuit against the former president, Rudy Giuliani and two white supremacist groups, citing their role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.... The lawsuit, filed Tuesday morning in Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, alleges that Trump and Giuliani, in collaboration with the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, conspired to incite the riots to keep Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election. It claims they did so in violation of the Ku Klux Klan Act, a Reconstruction-era statute designed to protect both formerly enslaved African Americans and lawmakers in Congress from white supremacist violence.... Reps. Hank Johnson and Bonnie Watson Coleman will join the litigation as plaintiffs in the coming days, according to a press release shared with POLITICO...."
The King-Politico article also noted that this lawsuit shows that Trump and his allies are vulnerable to new a variety of charges. The allegations are that Trump and Giuliani not only called for violence on January 6th, but they played a role in planning and executing the insurrection itself.
The plaintiffs also cited Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell’s remarks after the Trump acquittal vote in the U.S. Senate, in which it could be argued that Senator McConnell specifically encouraged this kind of litigation against the former president when McConnell said that Trump was still vulnerable to legal action(s) for his words and deeds while still holding the office of President.

Closer to the truth than the AP article mentioned above in this comment, would seem to be an article that had appeared in "The Atlantic" which said that "... a closer look at the people suspected of taking part in the Capitol riot suggests a different and potentially far more dangerous problem: a new kind of violent mass movement in which more 'normal' Trump supporters—middle-class and, in many cases, middle-aged people without obvious ties to the far right—joined with extremists in an attempt to overturn a presidential election...." To be sure, both articles are pro-authoritarian/ anti-patriot-protestor MSM versions of what happened on January 6th, and the nature and character of the constitutionally protected demonstrators, but the two sets of authors are drawing opposite conclusions about the influence and significance of the so-called "extremists" on the events as a whole.....

"The House on 92nd Street" is an immediate post-war black-and-white American spy film directed by Henry Hathaway near the end of 1945. According to a Capitol Police Department spokesman earlier today, six US Capitol Police officers have been suspended with pay, and 29 others are under investigation, for their actions in the January 6th Capitol Hill incursion into various secure areas in and around the U.S. Capitol.
CNN is reporting that Capitol Police spokesman John Stolnis said that --- "Acting [Capitol Police] Chief Yogananda Pittman has directed that any member of her department whose behavior is not in keeping with the Department's Rules of Conduct will face appropriate discipline...." Last month, the Capitol Police had placed at least 10 of its officers under investigation, while two others had been suspended.
