A few minutes before Trump answered the [reporter's] question, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said an article of impeachment against Trump would be delivered to the Senate on Monday...."
And this from the Biden side --- "....President Joe Biden has directed his intelligence community to study the threat of domestic extremism in the United States, an undertaking being launched weeks after a violent mob loyal to Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol.... The disclosure Friday by White House press secretary Jen Psaki is a stark acknowledgment of the national security threat that officials see as posed by American extremists.... 'The rise of domestic violent extremism is a serious and growing national security threat,' Psaki said...."
Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives in a largely party line vote impeached Trump for inciting the Capitol Hill rioting on January 6th. It's been announced that the single impeachment charge will be formally delivered to the U.S. Senate on this coming Monday; and the new Senate [Majority] Leader Chuck Schumer has said that the Trump impeachment trial will begin in the week of February 6th.
Trump had indicated previously that he was considering another run for the White House in 2024. There also have been reports of Trump's trying to create a new party, possibly to be called the "Patriot Party."
Other polling and coverage indicates that even though Donald Trump no longer holds any governmental or political office, many Democrats believe that Trump and his followers, and even Republicans generally, still pose a danger to them.
Nobody has mentioned how Trump intends to reach out to his many loyal followers --- or what he might have to say to them about what he needs for them to do in the future.

Under the agreement between Majority Leader Schumer and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), the article of impeachment will be read at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 25th. Senators will be sworn in Tuesday and a summons will be issued to former President Donald J. Trump. Trump’s response to the article of impeachment and the House’s pre-trial brief will be due by February 2nd, and Trump’s pre-trial brief will be due six days later. The earliest that a trial could start in the Senate would be February 9th, when the House’s pre-trial rebuttal is also be due.
At this moment, it appears that the necessary super-majority vote of 67 U.S. Senators is not there to convict the former President. Furthermore, the entire impeachment process now being implemented against former President Donald Trump is constitutionally dubious.
Jim Comey recently stated Trump should be left alone. That means Trump is headed for prison. That's how these things go.

As of Thursday, more than 10,000 Guard troops out of nearly 26,000 in D.C. for the inauguration were still on duty, according to a news release from the National Guard. About 7,000 of them are expected to remain through the end of the month...." The number of those troops, and they are troops, are also a barometer.....
