There is no longer any formal Republican Organization for the County of Kings

Chairman Defunctus Ted Ghorra is now absolutely and completely a "Chairman" without any portfolio or meaningful cachet whatsoever  ---  It's all due to Ghorra's intentional nonfeasance of his ordinary and proper duties  ---  something,  given his obvious scienter in the matter, that also rises to the category of  "misfeasance" under all of the current circumstances

The Brooklyn GOP has suffered a fate akin to that of the Mary Celeste, and more recently, that of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Somebody has to be made to pay the price for this travesty  ---  and made to pay it quickly.....

If anybody still cares and has an actual interest in the existence (or nonexistence) of an organized  Brooklyn Republican Party,  they would need to head into New York Supreme Court and petition the court for all necessary and proper relief  ---  that should include a cigarette and a blindfold for former Brooklyn GOP Chairman Ted Ghorra, along with all of the other hors de combat and other necessities for a proper execution of sentence.

Let's take the long view of this:

2013: Marty Golden decides to oust his own handpicked GOP chairman, Craig Eaton (despite Eaton winning State Senate and Congressional races nobody thought possible. He bungles the convention.

2014: Golden hires a third-rate election lawyer to contest the 2013 convention, and gets beaten in court.

2015: Golden still manages to blow the convention, and suffers the worst insult possible: Arnaldo (did you know he was Italian) Ferraro as county char.

2016: This time Golden lucks out: Arnaldo is too cheap to hire an election lawyer. But not for long, as Golden's new chair accelerates GOP decline by refusing to call meetings, and generally letting Golden be chair in everything but name.

2017: Two huge embarrassments -- Golden's choice for city council gets only 48% of the combined Primary vote, and his name is Quaglione.

2018: Golden loses his Senate seat by 1200 votes, but that's not the worst part -- he gets defeated while sitting on $320,000 in unspent campaign funds. Talk about throwing an election!

2019: Golden's county chair neglects to hold a county convention within the specified deadline, and the Brooklyn GOP officially ceases to exist as an organized (no pun intended) political party.

109, your timeline is pretty good, and Marty Golden did get behind all that buggery and skullduggery. However, somebody else or several other somebodies were feeding Marty those ideas. Marty doesn't have the mental capacity to think up or how to do all that stuff, even as badly as it was done.

Marty was the glue that held it all together.

Anonymous said...

No, Marty was the glue in the gears.

Anonymous said...

Ted Ghorra? Ted never even met her!

Anonymous said...

With Marty not involved anymore it’s even worse. Ted afraid to tie his own shoelaces without asking permission from Fran and Jerry first.

Anonymous said...

Hear about the new TV remake for the little kiddies?

"Dora Ghorra the Explorer"

Anonymous said...

Marty was the glue that held Ted's toupee in place, unfortunately that same glue got in the gears of the machine that was the Kings County Republican Committee, and, well ... nothings moving as a result.

Anonymous said...

The only glimmer of hope is Marty comes back.

Anonymous said...

Well, I hope not!

Marty ain't glimmer-glam; he's glummer-glop, slurpy-slop or snogger-snot

Bobs column was great this week. His wife sounds like a real charm school graduate.

Anonymous said...

Ted ran the party into the ground

Anonymous said...

Wrong, 1034, Ted never RAN a damn thing, except his mouth.

Anonymous said...

Martys comeback is the only thing that can save the GOP.

Anonymous said...

Wrong, 1215, Marty never did anything for the Republican Party anywhere or anytime. Why should he start at age 69 or 70?

Anonymous said...

Ted didn't run the Brooklyn GOP into the ground. Or a ditch.

Technically it was his car, but he was always in the backseat.

Marty and his minions were always at the wheel.

With the new groups coming into Marty Golden's olden days State Senate and City Council Districts, the sliver of the Brooklyn GOP still 'loyal' to Marty needs to rename itself "The Kassar-Golden Party of the Bigoted, Backward and Always Confused People of DUMBFUCKISTAN'. Then all the newcomers would understand the local politics better, and they'd all become enrolled in the open and welcoming Democratic Party locally featuring Congressman Rose, State Senator Gounardes and City Council Representative Brannan as their very open and responsive team of local representatives.

McDonald’s must be late in delivering Justin’s pre-Lunch snack that’s why he’s hanging out on a GOP blog again.

Anonymous said...

So predictable...
So very predictable!
... and so quick to jump to erroneous conclusions.

Anonymous said...

At this point, Justin is better than Marty. or Q.

Anonymous said...

Hmmm! You, don't say!

Anonymous said...

Oh where oh where oh where has Eaton gone..

Anonymous said...

The only place Justin is better than anyone is at the buffet table.

If no GOP why have a GOP blog?

RESPONSE: THE "LONG-AWAITED QUESTION" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 11:06 AM"

WHY IS THE OBVIOUS >>> NOT OBVIOUS TO YOU ???

The one and only reason to have anything like a Republican blog for the Brooklyn GOP is >>> NOSTALGIA for the good times and VENGEANCE for everything else.....

OK !!! Maybe that's two reasons. But let's not let that spoil the fun: let's have a bit of a song.....

".... Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way

La la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la La la la la la la

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days...."

I'll go with nostalgia for the days of do nothing self dealing pols.
Bill Conklin who had a district office in the basement of his home on colonial road.
Chris Mega who couldnt be bothered with a district office in his basement.
Dominick DiCarlo who had a useless son who should have stayed in his basement.
Angelo Arculeo who wouldnt spring for a basement.

Ted had plans that would have transformed the GOP.

Anonymous said...

Do you mean Ted had 'plants' that would have changed the GOP, like marijuana or psilocybin mushrooms?

If he did, everybody would have liked him more.

Anonymous said...

Where is Eaton????
Banished?

Anonymous said...

412, are describing Ted as a hand puppet, or as a very special love buddy for Marty? And is there really any difference?

Anonymous said...

7:59, I think Stockholm Syndrome plays a role.

Liam is running the GOP in Brooklyn.

Anonymous said...

The problem is that so many more people are running from the GOP in Brooklyn.

Anonymous said...

What GOP in Brooklyn???

Anonymous said...

What GOP?

Anonymous said...

Yes Liam is running the Brooklyn GOP half of which now consists of the Manhattan psychos...at those meetings are held at his girlfriend's mother's house where he lives on the couch..

Anonymous said...

Nicole knows she has no shot for Congress without Liam

Anonymous said...

Liam. Ha.

Anonymous said...

Even the puppet has had enough of the puppet master. Stay tuned.

Forget all the insults and all the walking wounded personalities from McCabe to Quaglione to Capano to Ghorra to Eaton to Malliotakis to Golden and all the others from the box of broken toys.
The Brooklyn GOP is dead because there is no leadership, there is no followership, and every Republican candidate in Brooklyn sucks farts and wonders why they are light headed and have bad breath.

Anonymous said...

Friday night was the final 'Summer Stroll' street event on 3rd Ave in Bay Ridge.

Democrats like Brannan and Gounardes and Rose were all over it.

Malliotakis had a tiny table with a lonely staffer.

No sign of Marty, Q, Liam, Ted, Bob, or any of the Usual Suspects.

90% of life is showing up. On this basis alone, the Kings County Repubs are dead and buried.

Anonymous said...

Everyone can relax because if Michael Grimm don’t trounce her in the primary no way she beats Max Rose anyhow. Max got five times as much money in the bank. She’s calling everyone begging for money. All the stuff about Liam and Bob trying to get jobs with her is fake news even they know better.

Anonymous said...

Liam will turn it all around

Anonymous said...

Liam is the new generation the GOP needs. I'm glad everyone has come around to realizing that.

Anonymous said...

Malliotakis only shows up where Jerry and Fran tell her to go unless big donor checks are involved. How politically tone deaf can you be to skip the summer stroll with thousands of voters and the next night post pictures hanging out at the Connors house with the entire conservative party establishment at yet another fundraiser. She’s not beating Michael Grimm in the primary, compared to her Dan Donovan looked like a great campaigner.

Anonymous said...

Jerry and Fran are as big a joke as Ted and Liam.

My only question is whether you can have a circle jerk with only four people and one of them is a girl.

Anonymous said...

The only way to make the GOP relevant again and try to win some races or get some excitement is to attract new people. It don't look like Marty gonna run against Andrew, which means that except Nicole were not running anybody this time. We can't plant our flag with this lady. She rarely ever set foot in Brooklyn and when she does its for a fundraiser that looks like a Martin Golden office reunion party. Can it be any more obvious that she's lead around on a leash by these dinosaurs?

Anonymous said...

Liam was at the stroll-- with a six pack of beer!!

TO MOST OF THE COMMENTATORS ABOVE

NO DOUBT, I TRULY DOUBT MOST OF WHAT I'VE BEEN READING HERE

Doubtless, most others should be incredulous like me and not falsely redoubtable like thee.....

Strolling on 3rd avenue in 95 degrees !!

What kind of loser does that?

Anonymous said...

It was actually 75 degrees and every other elected was there and even Marty and Colleen showed up. The Hamptons and air conditioned home of the Connors obviously are more important than her constituents.

Anonymous said...

I noticed the Hamptons was less crowded during the stroll.

Anonymous said...

Nicole may want to hang on to her day job.

Anonymous said...

Martys gone. The party is gone.

Some malcontents are happy about that.

Anonymous said...

Ulrich can take City Hall.

Anonymous said...

Being 'malcontent' is the only way for a thinking Republican to be.

Anonymous said...

When Ulrich loses the Queens special election he will have more losses than all the ones Liam has been involved with. The only thing Ulrich & Liam will be "taking" are last call shots at The Lief in Bay Ridge..

Anonymous said...

Ulrich taking City Hall?

It's been a while, but are you sure there is a City Hall in the board game Monopoly?

Anonymous said...

This whole Ulrich taking city Hall comment is just more Liam pipe dreams..

Anonymous said...

Where would he even put it? It's a large building, with an extensive basement set of offices.

Anonymous said...

Sliwa will destroy Ulrich on a GOP primary for Mayor in 2021

Anonymous said...

Ulrich running for Mayor? Yeah and Epstein killed himself.

Anonymous said...

If Marty comes back the GOP comes back.

Anonymous said...

Is it true that Liam McCabe really believes that the Lone Star Bar on Fifth Avenue is named after him?

Anonymous said...

Is it true that Bob had his mop taken away?

We love you Brooklyn's #1 columnist, Business Executive, and Professor Capano!

Thanks in support of sharing such a good idea, post is fastidious, thats why i have read it completely

Funny I happened to see Liam at Salty Dog the other night
He was wearing open toe Sandals like Jesus Christ himself
Liam is the Savior the Brooklyn GOP has been waiting for
All Hail Liam and the futon he rode in
