Beware !!! --- THE ASYMPTOTE.....


Our quest for an independent conservative Republican polity locally is  ---  at best  ---  an ASYMPTOTIC pursuit



Whether you see your politics simplistically, for example like intersecting "x" and "y" axes in one plane, or even more simply as the zero-sum game on a single finite line with "x'" and "y" as the polar extremes,  or in a very complex way, with an infinity of multi-dimensional variables  intersecting at various spots in the infinitely criss-crossed universe  ---  one's search, or the hunt for a "sweet spot" will almost always leave one short-of or to the long-end of one's mark(s),  but so very often tantalizingly close.....



That is not a good reason not to take up the quest and begin one's pursuit 




There must be a goal or objective at all times....   Certainly, those like us need such goals.   Mere shibboleths, name-calling and naysaying are a vain pursuit, and hardly worthy of any that would call themselves "REPUBLICAN"..... 

Always remember what Teddy Roosevelt said:   "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

In equal measure,  neither should we fear any that might choose to criticize us.

WHAT IS NOT ENOUGH IN 2018

That is why in 2018,  it is no longer sufficient, or proper, or even just, to stand aside or "above the fray" and to merely criticize a certain nominally conservative Republican office holder in our midst.....   The time has come, WE MUST ACTIVELY OPPOSE HIM,  both directly, and where necessary and efficient, indirectly  ---  often on parallel paths.

It is for that reason that I will be looking for a non-partisan vehicle by which to support an opponent of/to State Senator Martin J. Golden in the 2018 election.

And let me now close as I opened,  with this caveat:   "Beware, the asymptote".....

You are all fools playing right into the hands of KCCP. Golden will win again and anybody hailing from the Brooklyn GOP who gets in on this scheme will be weakened. There is a far bigger play with a lot more on the line after 2018. Focus on that.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TEAR DOWN BEFORE YOU CAN BUILD UP.....


What makes you think the "non-partisan... vehicle" will stop running in 2018 ? What makes you think that the KCCP is doing well, and getting bigger, better and stronger as time goes on ??? Most important, what makes you think that Golden will win again in 2018 ????? And what part of "parallel paths" don't you get ?????? (OMG, I've used six (6) "?s" on two successive days.....)

People are making their moves now for (a) good reason(s) --- Golden doesn't have the legs anymore to go the championship distance; and there's a reason that his face looks tight as a drum (He is becoming his own "Portrait of Dorian Gray" in the flesh)..... With open opposition across the political spectrum in 2018, Golden and the NYSCP-KCCP will "lose" --- even if Golden ekes out a win this November.


There is a far bigger play with a lot more on the line after 2018. I >>> AM <<< focusing on that, right now (BTW, this blog will soon be changing its name slightly and changing its reach and focus somewhat --- stay tuned for that).

Golden is not losing get that through your thick skulls. The polling is very strong for him including independent polling. There are far more important things winnable things to focus on then waging a lost cause that will strengthen KCCP cronies inside the Brooklyn GOP.

Gale is right. Look at how Bob Capano has increased the value of his brand by switching to the Reform Party and then becoming the Brooklyn Reform Party Chairman.

Not long ago he tied Marty Golden in knots with his offer of a Wilson-Pakula to all the candidates for state senate.

If Marty thought that he would win, he would have done it. Golden didn't because it was doubtful that he could win among the Reformers and independents.

Meanwhile, the Golden and Grimm leaning youngsters Quaglione and McCabe keep doing other peoples bidding, making their political stock go down, down, down.

Guys Bob has maybe 20 registered members of the Reform party in Brooklyn. It is a mirage. Golden is not stupid to risk a primary that could prop up opponents whose candidacies are going nowhere fast. That is the trap. Gale Bob and maybe Craig go all out against Marty, Marty wins and then KCCP completely takes over the Brooklyn GOP. The real solution is taking back the party from the Conservatives, Golden's election result makes no difference to that. Time to start thinking strategically and long term instead of brief periods of unrealistic euphoria at the fantasy land prospect of making Golden lose as payback.

Actually 1213 it is not just the Reform Party members who vote in a reform party primary, the Reform Party is the only party that allows blank voters to vote in their primary, and there are more blanks than republicans in the 22nd Senate district ..it would have been a very newsworthy story if Golden lost among these critical voters who will be needed in the general election.

This is really "the trap" Capano set and caught Golden in

If Marty loses his re-election bid as a sitting state senator he can join Bobby DiCarlo as the Republican Leader of Peconic County and try to control control the BOE out there. He, Shamoun and Ghorra will be toast the second Marty loses in 2018.

Nobody cares a flying fig about the Brooklyn GOP anymore. If Kassar has it, Kassar can keep it, just like YRs and the YAFs (Kassar has been stealing things like that for years, since he was a kid).

If any GOP chair, from Pantaleone through Ghorra had focused half as much time on promoting people up the ranks (including, but not limited to patronage), instead of complaining about the Conservative Party, no one would care about Long or Kassar.

After Hynes lost and the Cons lost a big part of their patronage mill, that is when they got so greedy insanely avaricious that they were exposed to more people than ever before. If Kassar wasn't allowed to run rough shod over the Brooklyn GOP then maybe we would have a real Brooklyn Republican party. But it's ironic that a good number of people from the Brooklyn GOP are going after Marty because he's given free reign to Kassar. I hope finding a job for Shamoun was worth it Marty.

Here is the answer to that question as Ray who should just not blog or say or write much fails to convey. Team Saperstein knows they have zero chance against Ethan. They grossly overestimated the odds of Frontus winning so now they are stuck. They also know that there is a good chance that Golden and Treyger will make a deal and leave Stevie high and dry as usual. Maybe they should ask Grimm to campaign with them in appreciation for their support. No one else seems inclined to hep.

What you fail to realize, is that this is fun for me. Steve’s been running a great campaign built on ethics and bringing change to the district. The only thing Steve’s campaign was set up for was Grimm winning the primary and holding his hand through the general. Now they’ve gathered all the Grimm staffers for another Election Day smackdown. Right now they’re still hoping Frontus wins the Primary which won’t happen. By October Steve will be telling people he’lol he happy with 40% and after that he’ll say his real goal was 30%. If Golden and Treyger make a deal, Steve will be lucky to get 30%.

Is Jerry Kassar trying to wave a white surrender flag in the political fight for the streets of Bay Ridge in 2018, or is he really 'fighting back' by trying to go back in time?
Let's leave aside the fact that Kassar's Brooklyn Reporter 'Common Sense' column, entitled 'Fighting Back' is an almost 100% fake news parroting of a false reports of events, that already had appeared elsewhere and been debunked, both on this blog and social media.
Kassar's column is a pissy, whiney plea that Fight Back Bay Ridge and others stop attacking his boss Marty Golden at public events in Bay Ridge, like the Third Avenue Stroll.
Kassar's nostalgic view of Bay Ridge is one where the free speech rights of anybody opposing Kassar's bosses for almost his entire adult life have been restricted to very limited and controlled venues, where content mostly would be determined by Kassar, his bosses or community front groups controlled by Kassar's present and past bosses.

Kassar in his column was a cleaned up version of what these low lives from FBBR are doing.
They don’t only attack Golden they attack almost anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their radical far left agenda. Glad they’ve finally been exposed. I hope Strupinsky writes another letter, I’ll send a copy to the local bar association so they can have a good laugh.
