Trump says Obama was born in the U.S.A >>> “PERIOD” --- But before that Trump said Hillary started the whole birther story and that he ended it…..
Hillary says Trump was the country’s top birther for five years.....
MSM immediately declares that Trump is wrong and Hillary is right --- And that’s all there is to it
NOT SO FAST !!! --- Says the right wing media
The main stream news coverage of the Trump “birther” announcement is, as usual, despicable and shows who’s really in the basket of deplorables in our society.
For example, this afternoon, “The Wall Street Journal” reported that --- “Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for the first time conceded that President Barack Obama was born in the U.S., standing down from years of false accusations about Mr. Obama that made the businessman the central figure in the discredited “birther” movement…. “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again,” Mr. Trump said at his newly opened hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue…. Mr. Trump’s statement marks an attempt to put to rest a conspiracy theory he fanned for years, though he again falsely assigned blame on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for the incorrect suggestion that Hawaii-born Mr. Obama was born overseas…. There is no evidence that Mrs. Clinton or her 2008 campaign launched the birther movement, an assertion Mr. Trump and his supporters have long claimed is true. Mr. Trump didn’t take questions from the reporters he gathered to the event. He flashed two thumbs-up as he left the hotel ballroom….” (See “Donald Trump Says Barack Obama Was Born in U.S. After Years of Sowing Doubt -- GOP candidate also raises discredited theory that Hillary Clinton started ‘birther movement’” by Michael C. RIGHT WING MEDIA RESPONDS --- VERY QUICKLY
The Conservative oriented media didn’t stay silent long. By mid -afternoon, the top two links on the Drudge Report homepage were the following: “Hillary Campaign Manager Admits 2008 Birther Link...” and “Journalist Says Blumenthal ‘Spread Rumor to Him’…” (See Drudge Report, 9/16/16 [http://www.drudgereport.com/]). Those two links were to two articles posted earlier today one by Breitbart News ( See “Hillary Clinton Campaign Manager Admits 2008 Birther Link” by Joel B. Pollack, 9/16/16, Breitbart News/ Big Government [http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/09/16/hillary-clinton-campaign-manager-admits-birtherism-started/]; and the other from Mediaite ( See “Journalist Says That Clinton Ally Blumenthal Once ‘Spread the Birther Rumor to Me’ by Josh Feldman, 9/16/16, Mediaite. [http://www.mediaite.com/online/journalist-says-that-clinton-ally-blumenthal-once-spread-the-birther-rumor-to-me/]). Many other right-wing outlets on the internet and/or the blogosphere followed suit.
It doesn’t look like the “He said – She said” meme vis a vis the birth and fostering of “birtherism” will end any time soon.
