FLASH UPDATE: THE “DER NYSS FUHRER GOLDEN HAS SPOKEN --- EVERYBODY OFF OF HIS STREET” EDITION

WHAT MARTY GOLDEN ACTUALLY SAID WAS  ---  “I’M GOING TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE, THIS IS A PRIVATE MEETING. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE HERE....”

THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT STATE SENATOR MARTY GOLDEN WAS ON A SIDEWALK NEAR KINGS PLAZA WHEN HE SAID IT

According to a report by Courier Life’s Julianne Cuba in the Brooklyn Daily section  ---   A local pol held a ‘private’ meeting on a public street on Aug. 19 — turning away constituents, the press, and neglecting to invite other area representatives….  State Sen. Martin Golden (R–Marine Park) assembled about 10 city reps on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U after a hit-and-run driver killed a man there last week, but when a neighbor came to observe, Golden told her to take a hike — a move unfitting for a public servant….” (See “Public street, private meeting: Pol waives off locals, press during meeting on city sidewalk” by Julianne Cuba, 8/22/16, Courier Life/ Brooklyn Daily  [http://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2016/35/mm-private-meeting-public-street-2016-08-26-bk.html]).

It wasn’t just neighbors and other mere members for the local citizenry that were barred from the meeting.  Golden also waived away a Brooklyn Life reporter from Courier Life with this:  “I’m going to ask you to leave, this is a private meeting. You’re not allowed to be here….”  He said that while he stood on the sidewalk outside of Kings Plaza.

The rump meeting apparently had been put together by Golden or somebody on his staff;  and it included representatives from the 63rd Precinct, Department of Transportation, Mayor’s Office, and the Taxi and Limousine Commission, as well as freshman Assemblywoman Jaime Williams (D–Marine Park).

However,  according to Julianne Cuba’s reporting  ---   “…   [T]he senator did not    invite other local leaders, according to Councilman Alan Maisel (D–Marine Park)...."  Also Ms. Cuba noted that a source in Assemblywoman Williams’ office told the Courier Life reporter  that Assemblywoman  Williams asked to come to Golden's meeting only after the Department of Transportation called her about the meeting.

DID STATE SENATOR GOLDEN VIOLATE THE LAW [AGAIN] IN CALLING A RUMP MEETING ---  AND EXCLUDING OTHERS WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE

Some legal eagles think that the State Senator might have violated the Open Meetings Law by gathering public officials, ostensibly to conduct public business without announcing the meeting and making it open to the public. In addition, there would necessarily be required record keeping.

RESPONSE: THE "NOT ABOUT MIKE LONG" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:52 PM" & "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:14 AM"

THIS POST AND THREAD OF COMMENTS DOESN'T CONCERN "MIKE LONG" IN ANY WAY --- IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHAT LONG AND ANDY HUMM >>> GOT IT ON <<< ABOUT YOU NEED TO LOOK AT MY PRIOR POST

Since you're obviously interested in the "Gay City News" -- the only mention of that particular organ involved Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long; and it was in a prior post involving an interview that Long gave to Andy Humm in the "Gay City News"..... BTW, Humm did mention his past relationship with Long in the "Gay City News" article cited in my earlier post.

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE “CURIOUSER & CURIOUSER” EDITION

THERE WAS A RECENT CASE WHERE JUSTICE EDGAR WALKER HAD TO RECUSE HIMSELF BECAUSE OF HIS CLOSENESS TO FRANK SEDDIO

MEANWHILE, IN ANTOHER CASE JUSTICE WALKER HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THAT VERY SAME THING --- WHEN IT CAME TO SAVING FRANK SEDDIO’S FAVORITE GOP STATE SENATOR’S FRAUDULENT ATTEMPT TO TAKE OVER THE BROOKLYN GOP

Let’s start with this in a “Kings County Politics” article: “…. [The] Narcisse’s decision came following a three day court trial that was moved to Queens after Kings County Supreme Court Judge Edgar Walker recused himself from the case because of his past relationship with Kings County Democratic Party Chair Frank Seddio, one of the petitioners to knock Narcisse off the ballot for district leader in the upcoming Sept. 13 primary. Seddio is also the male district leader in the 59th AD….” (See “19th Senate District Race: Narcisse Knocked Off District Leadership Ballot” 8/22/16, Kings County Politics (http://www.kingscountypolitics.com/19th-senate-district-race-narcisse-knocked-off-district-leadership-ballot/]).

Maybe, Judge Walker didn’t remember how he recently did >>> Democrat County Chairman Frank Seddio <<< a very big friendly by saving the “Golden faction” in the Brooklyn Republican Party from a complete defeat in the case involving the Brooklyn Republican Party 2015 County Convention case.

People shouldn’t forget that when this case started, Judge Walker was very concerned about the possibility of State Senator Martin Golden’s staff putting together and sending a fraudulent robo-call to GOP Convention delegates about their proxies right before the election…. [Then I’m sure there were some phone calls to chambers….]

Later on in his two written decisions in the GOP case, Walker suddenly saw all that as “just politics”…. And in his final decision, Judge Walker chose to overlook the totality of Golden’s State Senate staffer James McClelland’s testimony, in which he admitted doing the robo-call and virtually acknowledging that it contained false statements about the proxies….

Walker’s conclusion was that at the convention the GOP credentials committee couldn’t consider James McClelland’s admitted fraud in obtaining the "Golden faction’s" proxies and that most of those proxies would be counted as "valid."

In between a lot of problematic blah, blah, blah, it’s all there in Walker’s two written decisions. The part about Seddio’s friendship with Marty Golden is from conversations with Seddio himself [but mostly, one at the Brooklyn Bar Association in 2007, when everybody was a lot friendlier].

RESPONSE: THE "FAIR IS FAIR" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 1:01 PM"

Up above I had to point out to some anonymous commenters that this post and comments thread is about NYSSMG, and in their case, NOT about Mike Long.

Anonymous said... at 1:01 PM, your comment is obviously about Liam McCabe, thus it's also not relevant to Marty Golden in any way.

BUT, in any case, your information about another Julianne Cuba column dealing with stuff that I talked about in posts and comments elsewhere on my blog is duly noted; and I'll even say "Thank you".....
