Yet Again, Treacherous Democrat Senators Filibuster DHS Funding to Protect Obama's Amnesty

"Temporary Kudos" to CNN for BRIEFLY giving America and the World an accurate headline on the subject:  " SENATE DEMS BLOCK HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDING AGAIN ”

PROFILES IN DISCOURAGEMENT:  McConnell BLINKS !  And the story line changed  for CNN and the rest of us  —   Let’s see what happens next ?

Democrats in the upper chamber have filibustered three attempts to take up, discuss, or amend the House-passed DHS funding bill. Last night was round four of the Democrat filibuster. As a result even the MSM stopped covering for the recalcitrant Democrats in the Senate  – at least they did  for a short period.   After Town Hall gave “Kudos to CNN  for its accurate headline  –  ‘Senate Dems Block Homeland Security Funding Bill Again:’..."  (See “Again: Senate Democrats Filibuster DHS Funding to Protect Obama's Amnesty” by Guy Benson, 2/24/15, Townhall  [http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2015/02/24/again-senate-democrats-filibuster-dhs-funding-to-protect-obamas-amnesty-n1961172]) CNN took it down.

Although the folks at CNN quickly saw the error of their ways and changed the headline of their article to something about a change in Majority Leader McConnell’s tactics, the deadlock persists.  The Republicans are still trying to pass DHS funding and stop funding for Amnesty; and for their part, the Democrats are blocking all votes and amendments on the House-passed DHS funding bill (See “McConnell changes tactics in DHS fight” by Ted Barrett, CNN, 2/23/15 [http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/23/politics/dhs-shutdown-funding-vote/]).

As usual, Republicans that could be relied upon to extract defeat out of the jaws of compromise most of the time, are trying to do so again. Since he sees no reason to be exceptional,  Mitch McConnell has decided  that he would attempt to break the log-jam by attempting to schedule split votes on general DHS funding of all DHS programs, with the specific prohibition of any DHS spending on amnesty put forward as a separate bill. In doing so, he rejected the advice of conservatives in both the House and in his own Senate caucus that he exercise the “nuclear option” of suspending the rules about filibusters with respect to the vote on the DHS bill passed by the House.  That bill would likely pass the Senate as well if it weren’t for the Democrat filibusters.  The most recent cloture vote to cut off the filibuster failed with a 47-46 plurality in favor of cutting-off debate, with a super-majority of 60 votes needed for successful cloture.

According to CNN, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) used the failed cloture vote as his opportunity to blame Republicans for failing to fund DHS, saying:  "It's becoming clear Sen. McConnell realizes he must separate himself from the far right, but the bottom line is this proposal doesn't bring us any closer to actually funding DHS, and Republicans still have no real plan to achieve that goal...."

RESPONSE: THE "OBAMA WANTS TO MAKE AMERICANS BEHOLDEN TO THE 'WRETCHED OF THE EARTH' AND THEIR MIDDLE EASTERN OIL & 'HILLARY APPROVES...' " EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS ... 2:50 PM"

Every word of "...bringing us closer to a more sustainable world and ensuring a healthier one for our great grandchildren and all the little Gales of the future. We applaud Obama today..." is a LIE -- including: "a"; "and"; "for"; "of" and "the" !

This is just another piece of the impoverish America propaganda and program that Barack Huseein Obama has promoted and pursued for his entire presidency; and which Hillary will ensure with a "Third Obama Term". Obama limits our domestic production of oil and inhibits things like the Keystone Pipeline that would expedite the importation and trsnsport of almost-domestic Canadian oil. All of that Canadian oil will be placed into the world market, and be consumed with every consequence that the "worship the dirt" crowd falsely decry -- only all will occur with less or no benefit for the Americans in the USA.

Gale, you channeled our favorite author Mary McCarthy as she said that about Lillian Hellmann "every word she says is a lie including the and a." Mary McCarthy wrote Memories of a Catholic Girlhood and then became an atheist like you Gale. And she loved Leon Trotsky. I loved Candace Bergen in The Group. I bet Mary was your hero.

RESPONSE: THE "AH, SO CLOSE, BUT NOT NOT QUITE..." EDITION

I liked Charlie McCarthy, Candace B's "brother"... and Kevin McCarthy, Mary's brother... and Mayonnaise, Lillian's brother, ...

Sometimes, it's all about the brothers and nobody cares about the sisters; sometimes, it's the other way around.

Either way, you can picked your friends and you can pick your poison, but you can't pick your siblings or your siblings' poison.

Do you know what I mean ?

btw, I was actually channeling Dick Cavett talking about Mary McCarthy's feud with Lillian H. ....

UPDATE: THE “THINGS ARE HAPPENING — BUT LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT” EDITION

According to late reports on Newsmax and other sources, on Wednesday Senate Democrats announced an agreement to go along with the Senate Republican plan to fund the Homeland Security Department without the immigration provisions opposed by President Barack Obama. The announcement by Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid puts the two caucuses in the Senate on track to pass a bill to fund DHS, as a partial DHS shutdown looms at midnight on Friday

"It's an important step to be able to send to the House of Representatives a bill that funds the Department of Homeland Security," Reid told reporters after a closed-door meeting with fellow Democrats. "We look forward to working with our Republican colleagues in the next 24 hours to get this done. All eyes [will] shift to the House of Representatives as soon as we pass our clean funding bill."

Meanwhile, the House's response remains uncertain. Earlier today Republicans in the House of Representatives reacted without any enthusiasm and even with some hostility to the plan proposed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who proposed decoupling the issue of DHS funding from proposals to block President Obama’s use of DHS in implementing his immigration orders (See “Senate Dems Agree to GOP Plan to Fund Homeland Security” by Newsmax Staff and AP, 2/25/15, Newsmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/US-Congress-Homeland/2015/02/25/id/626843/]).
