The always controversial Staten Island Republican Richard Bell continues to pursue his campaign in opposition to incumbent Republican Congressman Michael Grimm by urging a “Write-In” for “BELL for Congress” on Election Day 2014 — November 4, 2014
For those not happy with the choice presented by the major parties, incumbent Michael Grimm and challenger Domenic Recchia, Tea Party Patriot and Republican gadfly and firebrand Richard Bell might fit the bill as a protest candidate, but you will have to do it as a “write-in”
Richard Bell has been active in borough politics both with the Tea Party Patriots and as a member of the Staten Island GOP County Committee, and he had talked about a run against Grimm for over a year. Mr. Bell had intended to run as a candidate of the Libertarian Party; and the chairman of the Libertarian Party did speak well of Bell as a congressional candidate for the Staten Island seat held by Grimm ( See “Libertarian Party looking to field a candidate in this year's congressional race” by Tom Wrobleski, 5/24/14, Staten Island Advance/ silive.com [http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2014/05/libertarian_party_looking_to_f.html]). However, Bell was knocked off of the ballot as the Libertarian candidate after filing his petition for that line.
A Willowbrook native, Bell is married with three children and is owner of the Valeda Lieder company, which installs filtration devices for aquariums. There is a “BELL for Congress 2014” site on Facebook (See [https://www.facebook.com/BellForCongress2014]). Those who read the comments to Tom Wrobleski’s columns mentioning Congressman Michael Grimm should be familiar with many of Mr. Bell’s opinions about the current Staten Island congressman and other matters.
Also, according to the SI Advance, Green Party candidate Hank Bardel is also on the ballot in the same race against Grimm and Recchia.

UPDATE: THE “GRIMM EXPOSES HIMSELF” EDITION
CONGRESSMAN MICHAEL GRIMM APPEARED ALONE AT THE BAY RIDGE COMMUNITY COUNCIL DEBATE — TELLS EVERYBODY ABOUT HIS ABILITY TO “... MOVE MOUNTAINS” — AND HIS “EXEMPLARY LIFE OF SERVICE”
Tom Wrobleski of the Staten Island Advance buried his lead about the BRCC debate when he didn’t make this his first paragraph about Congressman Michael Grimm’s performance at the event: “The congressman ended his one-man debate by saying, ‘I've moved mountains; I'll continue to move mountains. ... My entire life has been an exemplary life of service’....” (See “GOP Rep. Michael Grimm goes it alone at Brooklyn debate; Assemblywoman Malliotakis, challenger Melendez trade views” by Tom Wrobleski, 9/23-9/24/14, SI Advance/ silive.com
[http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2014/09/grimm_goes_it_alone_at_brookly.html]).
The Democratic Party candidate Domenic Recchia took an apparent hit by missing the debate because of a “scheduling conflict.” However, the move might turn out to be a brilliant strategic move since the GRIMM ON GRIMM monologue showed the world what a nut Congressman Grimm really is.
NOTE: Tom Wrobleski’s article was predictably followed by a couple of “BellForCongress2014” (Bell For Congress 2014) comments. One of them touted his write-in campaign as follows:
“Tired of status quo politics? *** Write me in this November for the 11th CD. *** Not sure how to write me in on the old lever machine or the new paper ballot? This link explains how. *** http://www.nysthirdparty.com/how.html ”
The real story is Domenic "Im a fat slob who is to lazy to put a k at the end of my first name" Recchia and his scheduling conflict.
Just what was that conflict?
Michael Grimm is a fraud. Even if he wins reelection he will cop a plea to avoid jail time and resign shortly thereafter.
Rumor has it Golden is banking on it.
Thanks for mentioning my write-in campaign for the 11th CD here in the Brooklyn Independent.
