Were yesterday's primary results indicative of better days coming or more bad news for Nicole Malliotakis

Nicole Malliotakis obtained just over 70% of the GOP primary vote  ---  or  about 13,000 votes out of 19,000 cast  ---  whereas Joseph Caldarera garnered almost 30% of that vote with about 5,500 votes

Nicole did substantially better in Brooklyn than she did in Staten Island

People can look at this and see whatever they want.....

People can look at this and say whatever they want.....

What I'm sayin' is I think that if a third of Republican voters on Staten Island would rather vote for an unknown "Anybody but Nicole" candidate in a GOP primary, she needs to mend her fences fast  ---  or else she'll need to learn "Little Bo Peep Has Lost Her Sheep" by heart.

Wow yet another loss for Liam in a race he is involved with. Kepi was destroyed by Tannousis. I lost count on his losses, but include his own big loss to John Q in 2017, then with Ulrich in the Public Advocate Special Election, then with Michael Grimm in the big loss to Donovan in the primary and now with Kepi. Sure I am forgetting some. When do people realize Liam is not cut for politics. And he thinks he is the GOP candidate for City Council in 2021 against Brannan- ahahahahahahaha

UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "FOR SOME IT LOOKS 'TOO CLOSE TO CALL' --- FOR MOST IT LOOKS LIKE TOONCES" EDITION

The huge number of paper ballets yet to be counted in the Marko Kepi-Michael Tannousis primary probably keeps this race formally in the "too close to call" category.

However, the SI GOP has called this one for "Toonces the Driving Cat," because his lead in the votes already counted (about a thousand} seems insurmountable without some kind of outside metaphysical intervention for Mr. Kepi.

More important, the size of Marko Kepi's vote in Staten Island looks like another big "hole in the boat" for Tannousis and Malliotakis going forward, unless some quick patching gets done.

Another loss for Liam...who managed a campaign that spent a quarter of a million dollars on a primary only to get trounced by a candidate who would generously be described as lackluster.

There is much to unpack from last night and what it means for us taking back NY 11 in November but the main thing everyone is talking about today is that Kepi got grilled like a kebab and Liam and John Q are absolutely flushed down the toilet. Marty went all out for Kepi and Kepi got grilled like kebab. The lesson here is - the people who really helped Marty win were not with Kepi but with Michael J. Tannousis

Anonymous said...

To the 621 AM. Liam did not lose in the Kepi Race. Liam's crooked crew was also involved in Nicole's team and Nicole was supporting Tannousis. Once again Liam and his crew stuck thier noses into both sides of a race and made some $$$.

Anonymous said...

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THIS IS A LOSS FOR LIAM??. HE WAS INVOLVED IN BOTH SIDES OF KEPI RACE AND WAS THE MASTERMIND. WHEN WAS THE LAST RACE THAT LIAM AND HIS CREW ONLY HELPED ONE CANDIDATE AND NOT THEIR OPPONENT AS WELL

IS LIAM MC CABE REALLY THAT BIG A PART OF THIS STORY ?

CAN'T WE GO MORE THAN A DAY AFTER THE 2020 GOP PRIMARY WITHOUT MUCKING UP THE FEUDS OF THE 2017 PRIMARY ???

I get it..... There are a few factions in what's left of the Brooklyn GOP --- one of those is with Liam McCabe --- and the other factions just love giving Liam a few kidney punches on the "breaks" while the refs are distracted with other things.....

However, Republicans in 2020 have much bigger problems with emergent urgency than getting a few licks in on Liam.

If anybody cares about holding Nicole's bi-county assembly seat, or squeezing Nicole through into a seat in congress, all the internecene nit-picking in the Brooklyn GOP needs to be put away for another day.

Maybe "Q" - Liam - and Bob need to take a long lingering hot shower together with lots of foamy soap and both gentle and rough back rubs --- then, maybe they'll be able to see things a little differently.

Anonymous said...

Well, Liam certainly helped his opponents in the 2017 Council race. :-)

It's been said before, and bears repeating: you hire Liam and the Manhattan people to do lit drops and put up lawn signs. That's it. That's their expertise threshold.

Anonymous said...

As usual Liam played both sides and got caught doing it. Didja ever hear the story about that dog with 2 bones? No man can serve 2 masters. Liam has been exposed. Game over. Advantage: Malliotakis.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the others on here. The dedicated group who helped Marty stay in office all those years << and even helped prop him up when he had overstayed his welcome towards the end >> were all helping Tannousis camp. The sycophants and the grifters were in Marko camp and now the lines are drawn

Anonymous said...

Get out of here with the playing both sides stories. At Marko’s big Staten Island rally Liam was announced as the campaign manager. As for the Tannousis likely win, I’m hearing it was all Nicole’s Campaign that hustled for him and the Greeks in Bay Ridge who are still laughing at Ghorra and his fat friend for trying to act like they was in charge of anything.

Anonymous said...

GM you neee to understand that Nicole is a goner. Max Rose is no Joe Caldarera. Max has five times as much money on hand as Nicole and it’s only going to get worse. We might be able to keep the 64th because it has enough of the South Shore that would probably keep it in Republican hands.

Anonymous said...

1251 is correct..both liam and q lost..the only winner was Capano who was clearly with Nicole, none of this playing both sides BS...

TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE --- IT'S POSSIBLE THAT THERE ARE AS MANY "BAY RIDGE GREEKS" DOWN HERE IN DAYTONA AND ORMOND BEACHES IN FLORIDA AS THERE ARE STILL LEFT IN BAY RIDGE IN BROOKLYN

Whatever Greek contingent might still be in the old 'hood, isn't it likely that it would inure to the benefit of Andrew as much as to Nicole.

And remember this: IT'S OKAY TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES, BUT DON'T COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES.....

Liam definitely got caught trying to play both sides against each other because I heard it from several people. Let's just say I expect Liam will be making not-so-socially distanced visit to the Irish Haven shortly. Nicole is a goner. We all must rally around Assemblymember Tannousis and hang unto that state seat in the 64 th for as long as we can. We need to maintain a foot-hold here!

The results show Nicoles strength in Brooklyn. Roses back yard. Cruising to another victory for Nicole.

907, their was no 'cruising' for Nicole yesterday and there will be even less cruising this fall. And 929, come November Nicole will be bloodier in Brooklyn than a raw steak or Megyn Kelly at a Trump debate.

Nicoles race is 2 campaigns. Brooklyn and Staten Island. The results show her Brooklyn operation is 100%.

2:21 YES Nicole helped Tannousis win but Morgan's GF, has a big role on Nicoles Team. That my friends is Collusion and interference. Much more clear evidence than Trump and Ukraine. Steeplechase strategies racking up cash and sticking noses every where

Kepi got slaughtered in Marty's backyard

I thought Liam's lispy voice overs on the Kepi YouTube commercials would've helped more

Looks like Kepi lost Marty's own ED. Poor red-faced bastard can't even get votes on his own block for his favorite staffer (not John Q)

Somebody above mentioned a hole in Nicole's boat, but here is the real hole in the boat.

In the 2020 primary in Brooklyn, Nicole Malliotakis got 2358 votes out of 3045 Republican votes cast. In the 2017 primary in a similar Brooklyn area, John Quaglione got 1789 out of 3848 Republican votes cast.

In the three years between 2017 and 2020, the GOP primary vote dropped over 800 votes.

Anonymous said...

Nicole is going to get crushed in Brooklyn. Her primary numbers were awful considering she’s been in office ten years and ran for Mayor. She had a lot of momentum and goodwill after Mayoral race and ruined it by becoming a total Gerry puppet. Most of her district is on Staten Island but her boss is in Brooklyn.

The problem for GOP candidates is that Craig Eaton is gone there is no ground game. Ted and his round assistant can’t be taken seriously. Matter of fact they provided much comic relief to the Staten Island GOP boasting about all of their efforts for Nicole and Mike with the “dozens” of volunteers door knocking lit drops and tens of thousands of calls. Folks if you look at Nicole and Mike’s paltry disappointing numbers in Brooklyn you know those claims are ridiculous and the guys at the party nearly split their pants laughing.

That is absolutely analogous to what happened to the Nicole Malliotakis campaign for Congress on Tuesday in Brooklyn. Almost thirty percent of the most motivated Republicans voted against Nicole and the overall vote total of Republicans, for or against Nicole, was way short of what it needed to be for her and her supporters to be in any way confident.

Here is what I actually said:

"RESPONSE: THE 'WE ALREADY ARE "DE-FUNDING" THE POLICE' EDITION

TO ALL THE SO-CALLED 'CONSERVATIVES' OUT THERE >>> ANY SYSTEM THAT SPENDS AS MUCH OR MORE ON RETIRED COPS THAN COPS ON THE JOB HAS ALREADY LARGELY 'DE-FUNDED' THE POLICE

THE NYS CONSTITUTION MUST BE CHANGED TO ALLOW A REASONABLE ADJUSTMENT TO >>> EXISTING PENSIONS <<< IN ORDER TO FREE UP MONEY FOR REAL CURRENT NEEDS --- AFTER 2020 LOOK FOR NYS TO TAKE ANOTHER ECONOMIC DOWNTURN, BUT THIS TIME WITH NYC IN THE MIX LIKE IN THE 1970S

NYC needs about 32,000 police >>> NOT <<< 41,000 police --- right off the top >>> 25% cuts <<< across the board --- only then do the fine tuning to make it work.....

The best police force in the world, the London Met, has 32,000 police officers..... Also, it did most of its racial reforms almost thirty years ago."

That is far from a call for "defunding" the NYPD --- it is a necessary and proper reallocation of resources based on fiscal responsibility, reflecting a tremendous drop in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NYC only needs 20,000 cops. If that.

100am is more fake news as usual. Capano's column have been changed from bi weekly to weekly, and moved from just the Brooklyn courier life editions to the owners Queens papers and the city wide AM New York because of the high readership of it as shown by online views, etc. This week in the print edition I just got of the Bay News Bob callas for Brannan to fire his chief of staff Chris McCreight for calling all Trump supporters indecent people and white supremacists. Now when was the last time you heard something like that, or something like that in the press from Liam or Q!! And Bob know is on WABC radio regularly which is now owned by John Catsimatidis. So Gale is correct, Capano is the only winner in the 2020 primaries but also moving ahead in the GOP. After all with Cats or Sliwa as Mayor does anyone doubt who will be at City Hall - Capano, or Liam/Q.

Hahaha

With things the way they are today, I think that Nicole Malliotakis has about a 72% percent chance of losing in November. She might even lose within the borders of her current assembly district, but I predict that she edges Max out there but by no more than a gimlet eye, but not on the Brooklyn side, where he'll beat her like she's his Greek and Cuban omelet with nova and scallions.

The guy has become a laughingstock claiming that “dozens” of volunteers campaigned for Mike Tannousis and made “tens of thousands” of phone calls. Pretty massive effort for just 300 votes no? With the exception of one Congressional race that includes only a small part of Brooklyn, we are not contesting even one seat in Brooklyn population of three million.
