In my opinion, Marty Golden got by far the worst of it from the opening and closing remarks from a 2 CBS News, New York anchorwoman; and then during a Tony Aiello report, all of which was broadcast over a week ago (See "Marty Golden Fires Back After Being Accused Of Impersonating Police Officer" [by Tony Aiello], 12/15/17, CBS2 New York [http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2017/12/15/marty-golden-speaks-out/]).
Rather than glibly deflecting Tony Aiello's questions, obviously somebody in the Golden brain trust had advised our local State Senator to engage the reporter. The result was a torturous audio-video record of verbal diarrhea from the great communicator of Bay Ridge.
Golden started by trying to be dismissive of the whole bicycle lane thing, but then veered off and accused the cyclist of causing the whole thing. Golden, himself, described it as "road rage" by the cyclist, who pursued our NYSSMG for thirty (30) blocks as Golden and his driver "... tried to get away from him...."
Sadly for Marty, there was much more than that. For example, for some reason, Golden decided to defend himself when there was a mention of "new interest" in a backstory concerning his killing of the old lady many years ago with his SUV, a case that according to CBS, was settled by Golden's insurance company. Marty tried to excuse this vehicular homicide by saying the victim, an elderly woman, walked into the side of his "car" as he proceeded through a changed light. Also for some reason, he felt compelled to add that the woman had a stomach cancer, and that condition additionally contributed to her death. [It was previously mentioned on this blog that $750,000 was paid-out to settle this claim against Golden].
If all that was true, then I have some very simple follow-up questions for my state senator:
First, if, as NYSSMG claims, it was the bike-rider who had the road rage percolating; WHY DOES MARTY GOLDEN THINK THAT THE CYCLIST WAS SO ENRAGED ?????
Second, if the accident involving the old lady with cancer resulted only from her "walking" into the side of NYSSMG's SUV, why did she spend the rest of her life in the hospital being treated for her injuries from the accident, and why did an insurance company pay so much [$750,000] to settle the claim ?????
Kassar is good at making deals to sell out local Republicans and not much else. This story blew up and his advice only managed to make it worse.

The Federal Indictment of Richard Luthmann really does look bad. And to paraphrase "ANONYMOUS SAID... I'm not close to this case, and I haven't been fully briefed by any of my BSIs about it; but I do know that a prosecutor (in this case many state and federal prosecutors) has gone after a political activist with whom that prosecutor had lots of issues. First, the prosecutor tried using a "Special Prosecutor"; when there was a tough motion made by Luthmann concerning the "Special Prosecutor", then with the addition of some magical testimony of several bad actors, who had messes of their own to work-out, the case went over to the "Feds" and Luthmann was then arrested by them for what looks like some really bad things; and the SI prosecutor and everybody on Staten Island, including the SI Advance, said what a wonderful thing that it would be for DA McMahon and his lovely wife Judge Judy if Luthmann were stuck in the slammer for a very long time.
Yeah, this thing stinks to high heaven, alright; and what makes it stink even more is the Dennis Quirk part. You know, he's the same Dennis Quirk, who is asshole-buddies with State Senator Marty Golden.... Everybody is missing one of the real sleazes in this story, John P. Connors, the hooked-up Staten Island attorney, who's got at least a little bit of a conflict of interest going on here from the look of things.
On the sleaze spectrum, though, John-John Connors is at the choirboy end, Judy and Mike McMahon are in the middle, and Dennis Quirk, well sleazy doesn't even begin to tell his story.
The charge isn't that Luthmann paid a stripper to have sex with McMahon; I believe the charge was that he offered that money for her to claim that McMahon attacked her.

It’s true they took over the Brooklyn GOP but there are no spoils left, so while Craig hangs with influential people who can get people real jobs in the real world Jerry has to feel important by promising part time jobs to people who couldn’t get hired at Walmart.

Rose Marie Mazetta performed in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and even into the 2000s --- yes, that's nine (9) decades..... Some say that she is the last surviving performer who had a charted hit before WW-II.
To show some of the performing heights that she achieved, she toured the country for many years as one of the "4 Girls 4" retro-show with big-band singing stars Rosemary Clooney, Margaret Whiting, and Helen O'Connell.....
Al Capone was one of her patrons; as was Bugsy Siegel, who brought her to Las Vegas very early on.
