Even with his looming case involving the Brooklyn GOP leadership held by Arnaldo Ferraro, the biggest Marty Golden story remains his support for Mayor Bill deBlasio's "Zoning for Quality and Affordability Plan"

Local activists in Bay Ridge  worry about "Micro-conversions" legitimizing illegal conversions of one- , two- and three- family houses into subdivided housing throughout neighborhoods in State Senator Golden's district

More proof of the conspiracy of politicians, developers, union activists and low-income housing advocates comes from the Southeast end of Golden's district  ---  Planning Board 11 voted in favor of creation of micro-units  ---   Interestingly, a statement by an erstwhile Golden ally and close associate of Jerry Kassar, Ross Brady, "sounds the alarm" about the measure's legitimizing illegal conversions

Even with the clock ticking down to next week's  NYS Supreme Court showdown between the duly elected KCRP Chairman Arnaldo Ferraro and Marty Golden's hand-picked man for the job, Ted Ghorra,  some real world political maneuvering is going on  ---  and it is likely to change the face of much of State Senator Golden's home neighborhood, as well as the rest of his district.

According to an article recently posted in the Bay Ridge Journal,  "....   Local critics of the proposed plan have zoomed in on a provision that would enable the inclusion of studio apartments under 400 sq. ft. in new residential construction. Gentile fears this provision would create a loophole through which illegally-subdivided one-room apartments in existing homes could be legitimized....  But the provision responds to a finding by the NYC Department of City Planning that there is a surging demand for micro apartments to alleviate the shortage of single-occupancy units in a city where 50% of all households are comprised of a single adult and developers have stopped including studio apartments in new construction....  (See "Would Micro-Units Legitimize Illegal Home Conversions?" by Kip, 11/24/15, Bay Ridge Journal -- The View from My Block  [http://bayridgejournal.blogspot.com/2015/11/would-micro-units-legitimize-illegal.html]).

This article by Kip provides the latest insight into what I have called  "Marty Golden's  stab in the back" to older generation Brooklynites, many of whom have been part of his base of Republicans and Conservatives.   Oddly, it was an associate of Jerry Kassar who seemed to have been most vocal in sounding the alarm.  This is how the Bay Ridge Journal reported it:  "....  [C]ritics of the zoning proposal [say that] meeting the demand for single-occupancy units is less significant than confronting the threat of illegal home conversion. Lawyer Ross Brady, who sits on CB 11, sees the plan, by incentivizing the creation of new micro-units, as legitimizing existing illegally-subdivided units....   [Others disagreed, or simply steam-rollerd Brady]  On  November 12, CB 11 voted in favor of the zoning amendment."

Ross Brady is only described as a lawyer and member of Community Board 11.  However,  Brady was a former GOP district leader in a part of Brooklyn that included the Southeast tip of State Senator Golden's district in Marine Park.  More recently,  Mr. Brady has represented that area and been an executive member of Jerry Kassar's Brooklyn Conservative Party.

As I have said in the past; Golden, Kassar and the whole of the Golden-supporting cabal, including people like teddy Ghorra, need to clarify and explain what Golden is doing supporting Mayor de Blasio's housing plans.

What kind of reporting is this? First off what is this case with Ferraro about? Is it the goal of this blog to keep everyone guessing?

And the questions haven't even started. What I need to know is

1. Are you a credentialed press officer?

2. Do you have a charter to publish by the Kings County Republican Party?

3. Do you wear socks while you pet horses?

RESPONSE: THE "RESTATING THE OBVIOUS" EDITION

IN ANSWER TO THE VERY SALIENT INQUIRIES BY "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 6:26 PM"

In answer to un-numbered questions first, second & third:
(to the first) Obviously incomplete and/or half-baked;
(to the second that refers to itself as "First off") Search me !!! That's a mystery that only Martygoldenbots know anything about; and
(to the third) That would be my guess.

In answer to the numbered questions "1," '2," and "3":
1. I don't need no stinkin' credentials;
2. Oh dear, "...a charter to publish by the Kings County Republican party..." what's that?
3. Oh yes, ever since I read about that horse-petting thing in "The Joy of Sox"

We are finally going to be rid of Arnaldo and Lucretia after this court case.

RESPONSE: THE "WHO'S 'WE'? WHITE-MAN -- AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'RID OF' ??? " EDITION

Maybe, you might care to elucidate on the "We," who are opposed to Arnaldo Ferraro and Lucretia Regina-Potter might be. Also, in what possible way might any result in court favorable to Marty Golden be able to effectuate the removal of the current leadership team in the 46th AD.

Certainly, nothing in the Golden-Ghorra law suit would effect the LaGuardia Club's hold on the 46th AD in any way. At very least, Lucretia, Arnaldo and company can run and/or support a full slate of candidates through 2016, as well as fully participate in the 2017 GOP organization process.

Anonymous said...

Senator Golden has to be feeling pretty invincible to become an ally of Mayor de Blasio and the the Blaz's plan for low income housing scattered around his district.

Even if somebody like Lucretia Potter or Russell Gallo runs against Golden in a GOP primary for his State Senatorship, they can be competitive, even if they run against Golden and his support for the mayor's low income housing plan.

Anonymous said...

"We" refers to the 99% of Brooklyn Republicans who are sick and tired of Arnaldo and Lucretia and are freaked out by the prospect of having them run the whole party into the ground the next two years just like they ran the 49th into the ground and are running the 46th into the ground currently.

Lucretia couldn't beat Peter Cipriano in a primary and Russ Gallo got 21% of the vote the last time he ran in a general election. Yes I'm sure Senator Golden is staying up late worrying about both of them.

RESPONSE: THE "CLEAN-UP ON AISLE THREE" EDITION

WHAT A MESS.....

AS FOR ME --- I AGREE --- AND I DISAGREE

I HOPE THAT STRAIGHTENS THINGS OUT FOR YOU ALL

Double messages, faulty statistics..... You go out for a short walk on a Saturday afternoon, and look what happens.....

Kiddies, please, color inside the lines, it makes for a nicer picture --- or at least a clearer one.

First, I completely agree with the comments of "Anonymous said... 12:27 PM"; so I guess that I also completely agree with "Anonymous said... 12:29 PM" --- but I do have to add this: >>> THE SECOND 'ANONYMOUS SAID... 12:29 PM <<<

Second, I completely disagree with the comments of "Anonymous said... 12:29 PM" --- but I also have to add this: >>> THE FIRST 'ANONYMOUS SAID... 12:29 PM <<<

I mean -- Seriously ??? SERIOUSLY !!! --- "'We' refers to the 99% of Brooklyn Republicans who are sick and tired of Arnaldo and Lucretia...." 99% >>> NINETY-NINE PERCENT <<< !><?{[(*^#$@*^+=-)]}??!!!! --- Only Marty Golden, Clorinda A., John Q. and possibly Teddy G. could possibly believe that statistic. So, THE FIRST 'ANONYMOUS SAID... 12:29 PM doesn't help in understanding who "We" might be. ..... But, thank you for playing.....

Now, back to the problem at hand --- Doubled-up comments, and comments with the same "Anonymous said..." tag and timeline; how is anybody supposed to keep all and/or any of this straight ??? If I eliminate one of the doubled comments, should it be the first or the second ???

It's not easy being Galewyn Massey.....

RESPONSE: THE "JUST LISTEN AND LEARN SOMETHING" EDITION

"Anonymous said... at 1:12 PM" wants to sound like he/she is "In the know" and that they are on top of the numbers.

OK, mull this over --- if ANYBODY gets on the GOP ballot for the 22nd NYS Senate District other than Marty Golden, Golden will lose his seat, absolutely and positively. It's in the past statistics and history of Marty's prior runs --- look it up.

AND BTW, Lucretia Regina-Potter GOP County Secretary and State Committeeperson from the 46th AD is all over this, like white on rice; also, Marty probably knows about it too; but he can't do very much about it.

Anonymous said...

You can post as many long tumidly verbose posts as you like GM, there is nothing statistically wrong Potter got crushed by Cipriano in a Primary! Peter Cipriano when he was 20! Russ Gallo got 21% the last time he ran in a general election. 21% from your primary and maybe only source of information for your blog. Sorry I forgot about Arnaldo and Lucretia, you got it partly right she is all over meaning that she is done. The only thing they will do is play spoiler to Republicans like McCarthy and Lilikakis until they lose their leadership posts.

I love the idiots who come here and ask for your credentials. Don't read if you don't want to know the news. They are so delusional - it's strange they keep talking about Sippy Cup and Gallo.

Golden supporting DeBlasio and not calling foul on the plan is strangely suspicious.

I'm don't think that I am the only Republican who favors Arnando over the nobody Golden supported. Arnando won for a reason. I didn't vote for him and Lucretia but they are a lot better than Golden's team.

Anonymous said...

I love the fools here panicking because they thought that they owned this blog and could spread all the misinformation their silly little minds could conjure. Fact: Lucretia lost a Primary to 20 year old Peter Cipriano by a landslide. Fact: Russ Gallo got 21% of the vote in his last general election. Fact: Golden is not worried about either of them.

SUR-RESPONSE: THE "I HAVE TO DEMUR, SIR" EDITION

BRRR-PUH-PUH-BUH !!! EXCUUUUSE MEEEE, "ANONYMOUS SAID... 4:15 PM," PLEASE, IT'S "ARNALDO" NOT "AMANDO" OR HERNANDO OR ANY OTHER "...DO" THAN "ARNALDO" .....

AS TO "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 3:31 PM" --- I'LL MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU AND I WILL EXPOUND IN SIMPLE DECLARATIVE PROSE USING VERY SHORT WORDS, WHOSE MEANING IS GENERALLY KNOWN BY THOSE WHO WERE NOT MERELY SOCIALLY PROMOTED AS FAR AS THE FIFTH GRADE

You are looking through the wrong end of the telescope. You only see the "smallness" of what Lucretia and Russell have done in the past, but you miss the greatness of the fact that they did get themslves on the ballot and they were able to compete.

How long has it been since State Senator Marty Golden tried that --- I'd say it's fair to say NEVER (if he qualified himself once, that would be a lot).....

Since we keep talking about Lucretia and Russell (and to be fair, I did start it this time around on the thread above), let me say this as simply and in as straightforward a manner as I can. If Lucretia and Russell can see fit to get behind one candidate for state senate, that they both can call their own, they can kick Marty Golden to the side of the road in 2016. Is that simple enough for everybody ???? (Of course, a few others would need to be on board, but I'm trying to keep it simple)

Of course, all of that can be dismissed as trash talk or puffery ( it certainly contains a bit of that). But, anybody that dismisses the point without thinking about it for a while is simply being thoughtless on the subject.

Anonymous said...

The problem for Lucretia and Russel is hat they are very good at getting themselves on the ballot and causing grief for other Republicans trying to get on the ballot but that is when their game ends. That is all they have. No one is going to run to support a candidate because Gallo or Regina Potter are backing them.

Anonymous said...

Gallo vs Golden would be like Trump vs Jeb. Don't underestimate the guy.

Anonymous said...

Get serious already. Gallo barely got over 20% the last time he ran but somehow he is going to beat Marty Golden in a Primary?

Anonymous said...

Gallos last race was a 3 way general election.

Anonymous said...

A general election in which 2 of the three candidates were Democrats and he could only garner about 20% of the vote in a district that had a lot of Republicans.

Anonymous said...

Wow this post is getting really interesting. What you guys and gals fail to underscore is the fact that Eaton was behind all of the wins you talk about.

Eaton put Sippy cup in that race and supported him - Sippy cup beat Lucretia

Eaton put Lucretia in the race against Clorinda - Lucretia beat Clorinda

Eaton put Arnaldo in as Chairman...

At the Convention once all of Golden Proxies were tossed because of fraud (and I will get back to that), Eaton could have put himself in, he could have put Ghorra in, and he could have put all of his proxies to whoever he wanted - even Timy Hotdog Cochrane if that loser was still around - but Eaton put Arnaldo in....it was a brilliant move...Golden lost again - the perfect poison pill to a piece of _ _ _ _.

I heard that Golden was yelling and screaming at Kassar the day of the Convention (after they all left the "clown car" and went to the "clown's (Golden's) office)when Golden heard about the "robocall from hell"....hear it was the genius Kassar's idea - that is real funny. Two years ago they engage in fraud by threatening BOE employees and then hiring counsel (the same counsel as this year by the way) who fails to name the necessary parties...it wouldnt be so funny if it weret the gods honest truth.

Even if you guys dont like Arnaldo, once the lawsuit is over and Golden loses - AGAIN - then the useless people at the BOE who could never be hired in the private sector, will walk - I MEAN RUN -to Arnaldo's side and Golden will be Toast...that is drunken irish toast I mean.

Golden needs to go - his recent support of the Mayor's plan shows that he is a disengenous useless elected official who wll say anything, do anything and support anything to help his own hide.....

GOLDEN NEEDS TO GO.....SEND HIM BACK TO THE BAR WHERE HE BELONGS......

BACKFILL & QUERY: THE "WHERE ARE THE SNOWS OF YESTERYEAR ?" EDITION

IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO THAT MARTY GOLDEN HAD PUT CRAIG EATON IN AS KCRP CHAIRMAN (ALTHOUGH JERRY KASSAR UNEQUIVOCALLY TOLD ME IT WAS DONE BY HIM) --- LUCRETIA, ARNALDO AND JONATHAN JUDGE WERE BEING TREATED AS ISOLATED OUTSIDERS, ALONG WITH GLENN NOCERA AND A FEW OTHERS LIKE HIM --- AND SOME WERE PREDICTING "REGIME CHANGE" WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN IN THE 49TH AD, WHILE OTHERS STRUGGLED TO DEFEND A LAST STRONGHOLD OF INDEPENDENT REPUBLICANISM IN BROOKLYN.....

ON THE UPSIDE, BY 2011, THE BROOKLYN GOP HAD HELPED TO ELECT TWO GOP CONGRESSMAN; AND, IN 2012, HOWEVER BRIEFLY, BROOKLYN HAD TWO ELECTED GOP NYS SENATORS --- AS LATE AS THE FALL GOING INTO THE 2013 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IT WAS BELIEVED BY SOME THAT THE GOP MIGHT BE COMPETITIVE IN TWO COUNCIL DISTRICTS IN BROOKLYN AND WITH A VERY LONG OUTSIDE SHOT IN A THIRD..... AND AFTER REDISTRICTING THE LA GUARDIA ORGANIZATION MORPHED INTO THE REGULAR REPUBLICAN ORGANIZATION IN THE 46TH AD

Not long ago, the Brooklyn GOP under Craig Eaton looked like it was on a real upswing and part of an upward trend nationally. Recently, however, the current appearance of the Brooklyn GOP is pallid; the Republican Party in Brooklyn looks like it's in a death spiral, and every option by its activists and leaders is parlous and threatened by myriad pitfalls.

In light of all that, Brooklyn's more active Republicans need to ask themselves and their "leaders" questions like these:

How did we get here ?

Was it rank incompetence on somebody's part ?

Was there any kind of conspiracy or betrayal involved ?

Who, if anyone, is to blame ?

Gale

The answer are clear: GOLDEN/KASSAR, GOLDEN/KASSAR GOLDEN/KASSAR AND GOLDEN.....

I hear that Golden has the title to the Brooklyn GOP in his office and he feels that it is his to do whatever he wants. This was proven by Puppet Shamoun when he said to one of my friends "Golden put Eaton there and can take him out whenever he wants".

Gee, I thought Republicans owned the party. (Not Old Rhinos)

Please, be sure that when you're describing "his nibs" you are clear in your own mind whether you are referring to Republican-Conservative State Senator Martin Golden as an old, heavily calloused creature, who enjoys throwing his weight around, like the pre-Serpico vice cop that he once was (RHINO); as opposed to, an elected Republican official, who feigns allegiance to sound conservative Republican principals and sometimes campaigns that way; but who votes and governs contrary to that based on a quest for political favors and/or pursuit of personal interest (R.I.N.O.).

POINT OF INFORMATION: THE "DULY SELECTED AND APPOINTED CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE..." EDITION

WHAT IS IT THAT THE TED GHORRA - MARTY GOLDEN CROWD NEEDS TO PROVE TO UNSEAT ARNALDO

Basically, there is a two-part threshold: 1) Was the 2015 KCRP County convention NOT conducted pursuant to the KCRP rules; and 2) Did the Ghorra-Golden group have sufficient legitimate delegates and proxies to carry the day ?

As part and parcel of both of those issues, how is anybody challenging the results of the 2015 KCRP Convention going to overcome the finding of the "duly selected and appointed" Credentials Committee determination that a very large majority of the Ghorra-Golden proxies (which SSMG kept calling "vouchers") were defective on their face or obtained by fraudulent means and/or handled in a fraudulent or irregular manner?

Have Ghorra and Ferraro announced who they're endorsing for presidential nomination? The district leaders mostly support Trump.
