The Brooklyn - Kings County - Republican Party holds its Annual Holiday Party

Wednesday evening Craig Eaton and John Catsimatidis welcomed Brooklyn Republicans to Holiday Festivities at the Brooklyn Bar Ass'n at 123 Remsen Street in Brooklyn Heights

GOP "Party Secretary" Russell Gallo chats up local columnist about his own prospects in 2014

About a hundred folks enjoyed dancing to music from a DJ, plentiful hot food, and beverages such as wine and soda in the main meeting room of the Brooklyn Bar Association on Remsen Street not far from Saint Francis College. It was all compliments of Craig Eaton and the Kings County Republican Party, along with another one of those "un-secret Santas" -- John Catsimatidis.

There was plenty of political gossip; and local reporter Will Bredderman was very interested about the comings and goings of the likes of  E. O'brien-Murray and Rob Ryan; and he noted the enthusiastic greetings and applause from the crowd to the introductions of Mr. & Mrs. Catsimatidis and local candidates like Bob Capano and Russell Gallo. Once or twice during the evening, Gallo and Bredderman were deep in conversation with Gallo coyly saying that he was very interested in going all-out for a big race in 2014 and that he would probably be the only one willing to do that going forward.

For those seeking comparisons, there were about three to four times as many guests at the function thrown Monday night at the Bay Ridge Manor.  Nonetheless, the Eaton-Catsimatidis party didn't need to take any backseat to the earlier scheduled function when it came to the fun  being had by its guests. At one point, there were almost fifty people on a conga line dancing around and trying to Shanghai the less Terpsichorean-oriented politicos who were apparently more deeply involved in political gossip on the edges of the dance area. The dance floor seemed to grow as the conga line grew and the non-dancers retreated from the all-assimilating, pulsating python that included such dancing fools as Russell Gallo, Gene Berardelli and Tom McCarthy, and far too many women of all ages and descriptions to mention by name (even if I did know more than a few of them). There were one or two couples that did the older style ballroom steps, bunches of women that tried some line dances and more than a handful of pairs doing Latin style dances that looked and sounded like Salsa and Merengue.  One or two couples even looked like they could have scored high with Carrie-Ann or Bruno -- and possibly even "A 'Ten' from Len !" There were about fifty still in the room and others outside in the hall and around the building when the DJ announced the last dance. Things continued apace for another fifteen or twenty minutes until somebody flashed the lights some time after 9:30 to signal about thirty stalwart revelers that the party was over.

With that, some lifts home were arranged in the hall and out in front of the Bar Association, and about a dozen YRs went off to continue to party a few blocks away at O'Keefe's on Court Street. Others came and went there; and about eight or nine remained at the Court Street bar after 11:15.

Gale,
After hearing about your evenings at the buffet table, the time has come to hit the treadmill.
Do you want to be Castimidis without the money?

Clemenza

ADDENDUM: THE "DON'T TRY TO PLAY CUPID WHEN YOU HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE" EDITION

Important info --- the Brooklyn YRs' guys need to leave any attempted set-ups to the YRs' ladies. I watched as somebody maladroitly tried to do a set-up between an unsuspecting guy and a poor little gal, who was not in her finest evening togs and not looking like she had spent any time at Elizabeth Arden to get ready for the GOP's downtown fest. So they plunked the guy down across from the sweet young thing.... Well, our unsuspecting quarry was at that point also sitting next to a very well made up femme fatale in a very nice sequin number --- Then, being no man's fool, the guy being set-up proceeded to demonstrate he knows how to chat up a gal, to which Ms. FF in the sequins will surely attest....

And our erstwhile setter-upper, well he couldn't hit the inside of a barn with one of cupid's arrows if the doors were closed and he whuz locked inside with a full quiver....

Gale,
Were you there when "Cats" recognized Frank Russo as the guy who busted his balls at the Young Republican Club in the spring that went viral on YouTube. I see you didn't mention it, and you didn't mention that Mrs. "Cats" did some dancing too. Also no mention of the "Cats" little red goodie bags that one old wag said --- "If that's what he thinks is swag for a crowd like this, then that's pretty sad and shows why he lost the primary."

The best thing about Eaton's Holiday Party:

Not ONE DIME went into the pockets of Marty and the Golden family.

What people don't seem to realize is that every time Marty has a political or "civic" event at the Bay Ridge Manor -- or elsewhere, with the Manor handling the catering -- thousands of dollars are flowing into Golden's pockets.

Golden's use of current political events to encourage people to attend his holiday party is an ingenious method of enriching his own family. How sleazy.

Don't forget that a lot of that $ finds its way into Golden's campaign coffer.

All Hail Craig Eaton And John Cats.

I was there last night and looking around I noticed some people were missing. I didn't see anyone from the Ferraro/Potter group. Aren't they supposed to be with Eaton?

Gale, you didnt hear? Arnaldo blew a gasket at the last Exec Comm Mtg because he wanted to change his title from Vice Chair to Executive Vice Chair...and when he didnt get his way, like an absolute child, he decided he didnt want to be part of the Brooklyn GOP - again.....who needs him anyway...what a waste he is...he is living in the 1900's....I was at that meeting and he demanded to sit right next to Eaton and every time Eaton spoke, Arnaldo has to almost finish the sentence.....we should get rid of him once and for all - again.

First of all I don't know if you heard but Arnaldo Ferrara was an assemblyman (he served a little longer than storobin did in the senate) AND he is Italian!

Also, Grimm was a war hero.

Now you all should be caught up on Brooklyn GOP politics.

UPDATE: EARLIER THIS EVENING I RECEIVED THIS RELEASE FROM JOHN CATSIMATIDIS’ BROOKLYN COORDINATOR —

“Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton and John Catsimatidis Host Annual Holiday Party for Brooklyn Republicans?”
_________________________________

On Wednesday, December 18th, Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton and John Catsimatidis hosted the annual Holiday Party for Brooklyn Republicans at the Brooklyn Bar Association on Remsen Street.

Catsimatidis thanked Brooklyn GOP Chairman Eaton, and Brooklyn Republicans for their support in the mayoral primary. Catsimatidis ran about even with his GOP primary opponent in Kings County, garnering more support here than in any other borough except Staten Island. Catsimatidis said the new Mayor must keep NYC safe and ensure a vibrant economy. He also gave his commitment to help re-organize and build a better Republican Party in NYC and ensure residents know it is a "party of all the people". Catsimatidis said it is important to run competitive races and ensure we have more of a two-party system in New York.

The release was accompanied by three (3) photographs of aton and Catsimatidis at the event.

Also as a separate and coincidental matter, a young John Catsimatidis appeared as President of the NYU Young Republicans on the CNBC Kudlow program earlier this evening.

Nobody mentioned that Brooklyn Tea Party President Frank Russo was accompanied to the Brooklyn GOP Holiday Party at Remsen Street by Joseph Hayon, who received a friendly greeting from Eaton and several members of the Brooklyn GOP Executive Committee.

I attended this event and it was wonderful - close to 200 people, plenty of food and drinks, and everyone was having a blast. I guarantee every negative post on this blog is from Marty Golden or one of his low life hacks. You all should get a life.
