Frankly, we here at this independent GOP blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island don't really know what to make of any of this jumble of stubbed toes and stumbles.....  This is even worse than anything that we have seen from Brian Fox or Liam McCabe to date,  although it does remind us a little of the whacky way that Liam rolled out his own 2017 candidacy for City Council, in spite of the Brooklyn GOP's obvious preference for John Quaglione.

But in any case, it really does look like a rollout on square wheels for any Brian Fox candidacy in 2022 for the assembly seat now held by Mathylde Frontus.

Irony of irony --- first trucker convoy to reach DC is from Biden's old home town --- Scranton, Pa.

Pennsylvanians are coordinating with other truckers from around the country.....   

News reporter asks the Scranton Convoy organizer Bob Bolus ---  "Have you been in touch at all with the truck convoy coming from California to exchange notes and ideas?”  

Bolus answers  ---  “We have had dialogue.... We've had conference calls and we're all on the same page. We're all for one thing: freedom and rights. It's America...."

The Scranton truck convoy is one of several headed toward the Washington, D.C., area.....

One such convoy left from California yesterday ---  Organizers with that group called it "The People’s Convoy"; and they had hoped that they would  have 1,000 semi-truck drivers departing from Adelanto, CAlifornia on Wednesday morning  [reports from local authorities state that about 100 big rigs, and 500 to 600 cars participated in the convoy departing from Adelanto  ---  one report said that in addition to the truckers, there were campers, pickups and SUVs with handwritten messages of support joining in a procession of vehicles trailing the trucks onto the highway]

Early indications are that the estimated number of actual trucks participating in the convoys are fewer than the organizers had hoped for.

However, "Grifters" and "Conmen" are only part of the descriptions that apply to the likes of the representatives and leaders of the cops' and firemen's unions  >>>  don't overlook the fact that they are also talentless "HACKS" and parasites on society and the body politic.....  

So, what does that make Brian Fox ???   Well, it sure looks like he is  ASPIRING  to be a "HACKS' HACK"   ---   however  ---  Fox's past antics show that he also brings something very special to the table  >>>  Brian Fox is willing to be a GEEK.....

Needles to say, Brian Fox is no Tyrone Power or Bradley Cooper  ---  but Fox does have a few of the traits of the movies' conman-grifter "Stan Carlisle" (he certainly doesn't exhibit any of the craftiness, or the ability to do the mental heavy lifting for the mind tricks that the Bradley Cooper and Tyrone Power protrayals demonstrated).  Both Fox and the main character in both of the movies have a sordid and criminal past, but more than anything else, Fox shares the carney performer "Stanton Carlisle's" willingness to do anything to fit into his successive environments  ---  often accompanied by the line,  "I was made for this...."  

As with so many complicated story lines for cautionary tales like "Nightmare Alley"  ---  Stan Carlisle's whole scheme came crashing down around him. In the end, the focal character is left trying to catch on with what's left of the carnival;  and when he's offered a chance to "temporarily play the geek"  ---  the Tyrone Power, Bradley Cooper, Brian Fox character answers  >>>  "I was made for this."

So, now, when it comes to his stepping-up to be a hacks' hack and a carnival show geek, BRIAN FOX CAN TRULY SAY   >>>   "I WAS MADE FOR THIS....."

Tuesday, the Mayor of New York City said this at City Hall  ---  "I’m a Black man that’s the mayor, but my story is being interpreted by people who don't look like me....  How many Blacks are on editorial boards?  How many Blacks determine how these stories are being written?"

Is the mayor's quick resort to to racial identity politics a sign of his thin skin  ---  or an augury that Mayor Eric Adams might be more of a divider than a uniter ?????

According to Bay Ridge's own Ross Barkan  ---   "It’s a self-serving political strategy, canny and divisive, with only one true goal in mind: intimidate left-leaning reporters....  Make them give ground out of guilt..."

Mayor Eric Adams is making a cynical bid for the largely white New York City press corps to give him more favorable  ---  posssibly  even propagandistic ---  coverage.  However, there is very deep irony here, because the new mayor has pretty much been winning friendly media coverage since entering office. He had enjoyed the almost unstinting loyalty of the New York Post, which celebrated Adams' crusade against the no-cash bail laws and his apparent alliances with many of New York City's business elite  ---  and local television news, which now seems dedicated to crime stories fed to an aging audience, while at the same time being increasingly alienated from the younger generation's progressive movement, is a pro-Adams domain.  

 
Yesterday. Ross Barkan wrote this about something that happened a couple of days ago:   "...  On Tuesday, Eric Adams, the new mayor of New York City, delivered a searing indictment of the journalists covering him. 'I’m a Black man that’s the mayor, but my story is being interpreted by people who don't look like me,' Adams said at City Hall. 'How many Blacks are on editorial boards? How many Blacks determine how these stories are being written?'...    Adams [was] speaking to a gathering of reporters who had received a personal invite to be there...  [and he] threatened to stop taking questions from reporters unrelated to the specific announcements he was making. That afternoon, he was touting an increase in job opportunities for the summer youth employment program....  The [mayor's] rancor was prompted by the media coverage of Adams’ first trip to Albany as mayor. There, he tried and failed to convince Democrats in the State Assembly and Senate to reverse the partial elimination of cash bail, a reform made in 2019, and scrap a law that forbids defendants under 18 from being tried as adults. Since Adams has staked much of his mayoralty on lowering the crime rate, he is committed to the view that weakening criminal justice reforms is the way to get there....   'I went to the Assembly conference. People raised the issues that they had and we talked. Black mayor, Black Speaker, Black majority leader, coming together and talking to each other,' Adams complained on Tuesday. According to Barkan what Mayor Adams did was a very base appeal to racial identity politics;  and it was intended to bully the press and other media into giving him lock-step favorable coverage.

To be sure, the article was written from Barkan's decidedly leftish journalistic and solidly progressive socio-economic perspective,  however it does bespeak unease even in leftish circles with the use of racial identity as a tool for certain purposes, and by by certain people in power  ---  in this case Eric Adams.....

Nonetheless, even though this ultimate admonition by Mr. Barkan appears to be addressed to the solidly left and left-leaning members of the press and media   ---  everybody should take it to heart:  
"....  What to do then?  Journalists covering Adams shouldn’t back down. They should not allow him to shape their coverage or bully them into sanding the edges off of what they do. Journalists should not be expected to reproduce press releases coming out of City Hall. Holding power to account is what an effective press corps does. Above all else, journalists should not regard Adams’ commentary with anything approaching good faith. It’s a self-serving political strategy, canny and divisive, with only one true goal in mind: intimidate left-leaning reporters, of which there are many, into treating him even more kindly. Make them give ground out of guilt. Will it work? Only if the reporter class lets it...."

The latest Durham filing about possible computer spying and planting false evidence of computer data on Trump the man, and Trump the President finally have been acknowledged by the NY Times, Washington Post, and NBC News

 
The NY Times is trying to explain it all away as either nothing at all  --- OR ---  something so technical, complicated and circuitous that it can't be reported upon as a normal news story  >>>  in other words,  their article about what's contained in the Durham filing is a very busy word salad covered with lots of very spiced up dressing, and little else of note [except as specifically mentioned at the end of this post]

The WAPO coverage was a little more than a "Bump" sort of article  ---  this is old news  --- it was all investigated before  ---  and it was all debunked a long time ago.....  Basically, the latest Durham filing is not adding anything very new to this old story, because it's the same old whine by the same old whiners

NBC News, on the otherhand, seems to have made a report about Special Prosecutor Durham's latest filing that seems to be rather straight forward  ---  espcially compared to the NY Times' and WAPO's coverage.....

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board is saying that  ---  "Trump Really Was Spied On..." and that  "....  Durham says techies linked to the Clinton campaign had access to White House and Trump Tower internet data...."

According to the editorial in today's Wall Street Journal,  "....  In a new legal filing, the special counsel says a tech company that had access to Trump's internet communications shared that data with operatives working for the Clinton campaign in 2016....  Special Counsel John Durham continues to unravel the Trump-Russia 'collusion' story, and his latest court disclosure contains startling information. According to a Friday court filing, the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign effort to compile dirt on Donald Trump reached into protected White House communications....  The filing relates to Mr. Durham’s September indictment of Michael Sussmann, a lawyer who represented the Clinton campaign while he worked for the Perkins Coie law firm. Mr. Sussmann is accused of lying to the FBI at a September 2016 meeting when he presented documents claiming to show secret internet communications between the Trump Organization and Russia-based Alfa Bank. The indictment says Mr. Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was presenting this information solely as a good citizen—failing to disclose his ties to the Clinton campaign...."

Here's how NBC News handled the same material in an article yesterday by Tom Winter  >>>  "A tech executive 'exploited' his access to computer data at the Trump White House to find “derogatory information” about President Donald Trump, a special counsel appointed during the Trump administration said in a court filing Friday....  John Durham, appointed by then-Attorney General William Barr in 2020 to probe the origins of the FBI’s investigation of Russian election interference, said 'Tech Executive-1,' not named in the filing but first identified by The New York Times as Rodney Joffe, used his access to domain name system, or DNS, data to compile information about which computers and servers the White House servers were communicating with....  Trump and his allies said the disclosure was proof that Trump was under surveillance while he was in office. 'They were spying on the sitting president of the United States,'  Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Fox News on Sunday. 'And it goes right to the Clinton campaign.'  In a statement Monday, Trump said the alleged spying was 'the biggest story of our time, bigger than Watergate.'..."

Later on in his article for NBC News, Tom Winter wrote that  ---  "... In the filing Friday, prosecutors said 'Tech Executive-1' gave Sussmann data about communications between computer servers at the EOP, two Trump-owned buildings in New York and an unrelated medical firm in Michigan with Russian-made cellphones near the White House. The information collected dated from 2014, during the Obama administration, to February 2017....  According to prosecutors, Sussmann gave the data to an unnamed federal agency at a meeting on Feb. 9, 2017, 20 days into the Trump administration, and said the data 'demonstrated that Trump and/or his associates were using supposedly rare, Russian-made wireless phones in the vicinity of the White House and other locations.'...”

And this:  "....  According to prosecutors, Sussmann did not disclose to the agency, identified by The New York Times as the CIA, that he was working for a client when he provided the report, when he was actually representing 'Tech Executive-1,' aka Joffe....   Legal experts said Sussmann could face additional legal exposure if he failed to disclose his relationship to Joffe....  In a statement, a spokesperson for Joffe said, 'Contrary to the allegations in this recent filing, Mr. Joffe is an apolitical internet security expert with decades of service to the U.S. Government who has never worked for a political party, and who legally provided access to DNS data obtained from a private client that separately was providing DNS services to the Executive Office of the President (EOP).'..."   

As a result of various reports on various media outlets at various times, there is now a concensus that "Tech Executive-1" is Rodney Joffe.....  Joffe's identity as "Tech Executive-1" had been disclosed at the end of September, 2021 by CNN, and also reported in the NY Post, when Prosecutor Durham had sought to subpena more documents of Michael Sussman and the Perkins Coie Law Firm.  However, it is not clear whether Joffe was working "under contract" for the Clinton Campaign, which is not likely, or the Obama White House, which is more likely, at the time all of this went down; and/or to what extent he had been interacting with Michael Sussman on these matters.  

However, it should be noted that something, which the NY Times did report was this tidbit   >>>  "....  Another paragraph in the court filing said that Mr. Joffe’s company, Neustar, had helped maintain internet-related servers for the White House, and that he and his associates 'exploited this arrangement' by mining certain records to gather derogatory information about Mr. Trump...."

OMG !!! Our recently re-elected Councilman from the 43rd District --- JUSTIN BRANNAN --- must be worried about the "TRUCKER CONVOYS" coming to get him

 

Why else would Boss Brannan be re-Tweeting stuff about some false flag Romanian operation to jinn-up the truckers here in the USA  >>>  but at the same time be telling us that the "threat" of trucker convoys is real in this country ???

Oddly, Boss Brannan's re-Tweeted warning about the truckers was being sounded for L.A. and D.C.  ---  but nothing about NYC  ---   So, what's the relevance ?

Does this sound like a "Law & Order" kind of candidate to you ???

Just last year, in the 2021 election cycle, candidate Alec Brook-Krasny said that he considered himself lucky to have been in a position to have had his day in court on a raft of crimnal charges, which had been brought against him  --- because he said that he "had the money" to pay a great team of lawyers.....

But here's the rest of the story

---  Brook-Krasny also has said that countless other defendants would never get the chance to properly defend themselves, because >>>   ".... Without access to top lawyers, without resources, without a support system, anyone can fall through the cracks....  

[I will fight for] those people, the overlooked, ignored, forgotten.... 

[I will fight to] ensure that our justice system provides the necessary tools to help people not [to need the luck that I had].... 

[I will fight for] laws like the expanded right to counsel, discovery reform, and increased funding for alternatives to incarceration.... 

[I will fight for] all positive steps towards a justice system that is equal and bent toward compassion for all it serves....” 

Alec Brook-Krasny is running for office again in 2022  ---  however, this time he's running as a Republican..... 

It's been reported that  >>>   Alec Brook-Krasny, a former Democratic Member of the NYS Assembly from Brooklyn, switched his party designation to Republican, and he is planning to make a run for his old assembly seat, which is largely in Brooklyn's red-trending southern neighborhoods.  As part of all that, he now says that he is fed up with his old Democratic Party's swing towards that party's leftish “progressive” wing  ---  with it's soft-on-crime policies.   

In spite of his recents stands, like the ones shown in the sub-headlines above,  Alec Brook-Krasny is now saying stuff like this: 

“I can’t believe everything that’s going on in the Democratic Party, all the calls to ‘defund the police,’ the cancel culture....  It goes against my character and my nature....  I think this is just the beginning. I think we will see a trend. I’ve tried for a long time, but I don’t think I can change the Democratic Party from the inside out, so it’s time to work from the outside....”

WE DON'T NEED A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE THAT WAS RECENTLY MUCH SOFTER ON CRIME AND CRIMINALS   ---  AND WHO THINKS IT'S HIS JOB TO CHANGE THE DEMOCRAT PARTY TO WHAT IS WAS WHEN HE WAS MORE COMFORTABLE BEING IN IT

If Brandon West really does a run against Robert Carroll, the incumbent Democrat running in a very different re-drawn 44th Assembly District, the repercussions might reach all the way down into the Southwest Brooklyn Districts extending into Bay Ridge

West is a hardcore New Kings Democrat "progressive"  ---  and Carroll is a more traditional "reformer" in the very Twentieth Century mold of the Carroll family of Democrats

  

Starting at the top of the ticket  >>>  Brando West supports Jumaane Williams for NYS Governor  ---  and it looks like Bob Carroll is for Governor Kathy Hochul

But it gets really interesting in the very north end of the Brooklyn-Staten Island Congessional District   >>>  WOW !!!  That could be especially interesting in the shared election districts in the overlapping new 11th Cong. DIst. and the new 44th A.D.  ---  you know, where Bill deBlasio lives  <<<

In Bay Ridge, the cigar chompin' Dem Boss Brannan ain't the kind of guy to stay out of  neighboring areas  ---  especially if he has some unfinished business with people named "Carroll."

Now, that IS Democrat primary stuff....  But Republicans wouldn't be hurt at all by a bloodbath of Democrat "friendly fire" victims in the 2022 primaries.....

Is Brook-Krasny with a few smudges on his resume the perfect fit to clean up the filth in & on the Brooklyn GOP --- or is he just more of the same

 

Some people think that Alec Brook-Krasny is going to put that very swarthy look-alike for the liquid cleanser avatar "Mr. Clean"  >>> Brian Fox <<<  back into his bottle, and stick that bottle at the back of a cabinet under the kitchen sink  >>> where it belongs

Others think that the recent GOP convert from a bygone generation of so-called "conservative" Brooklyn Democrats is just somebody, who isn't very new, and is just more of the same filth and rot that has become a chronic infection in, around, and all through the Brooklyn GOP

We here on this independent GOP blog think that the likelihood is that any comparison between Mr. Brook-Krasny and Mr. Fox is like trying to clarify and distinguish muck from mire.....  No, maybe that's a little overly skeptical, and certainly a little harsh.....  Let's say that we here "suspect" that's the case, rather than we "think" that's the case.....

Whatever else Alec Brook-Krasny might be, he is certainly a better candidate to run against Democrat Mathylde Frontus in the newly-drawn 46th Assembly District than Brian Fox would be.  And Brook-Krasny's availability to run in the 46th AD should lead most astute GOP leaders to lean on Brian Fox to just stay out of that district; and they'll push Fox to run elsewhere, if they want him to run at all.....    

Taken as a whole, the new district lines for congress, state senate, and assembly in and including the neighborhoods of Southwest Brooklyn are a gerrymandered mess

 

The new lines do not create districts that are either compact or contiguous

The NYS senate lines are the worst  ---  Savino's district has two very separated Brooklyn elements that are connected only by the waters touching the shores of Staten Island and Brooklyn  ---  the Gounardes district is all full of snaking slivers and one watery connection across the mouth of Sheepshead Bay

Nicole Malliotakis actually has the least to complain about  ---  and Toonces made out the best and seems OK on the Brooklyn side of the bridge

It's a good thing that the NYS Legislature didn't have some more time, or they might have tried some stuff that could have been even more complicated. one-sided, and outrageous 

It sure looks like the NYS laws and NYS Constitution were violated in a heavy-handed and gross excercise of political might in Albany.  

The best way to overturn any of these lines is to first attack the WHOLE process, and the resulting combined completely gerrymandered jigsaw puzzle of districts in the NY state courts  ---  and hopefully, then getting such a case into the U.S. Supreme Court in a way that doesn't take forever.

The night the winds of disinterest blew out the candles --- and left everybody there to curse the darkness of their long nights of the soul in these times

On Tuesday evening, Brian Fox held an event that he called a "Candlelight Vigil" as his latest attempt to cash-in on the recent deaths of a pair of police officers, who died at the other end of New York City  

In spite of the "all hands on deck" attempts by Fox and his ilk to flog the corpses of these two poor dead men  ---  the event was very sparsely attended for something like this.  ---   If this were in any way an attempt to show community support for anything or anybody  >>>  IT WAS AN ABJECT FAILURE

As you can see these few, these very few, are a mix of the usual Bay Ridge GOP -Conservative Party folks with a few NYPD -types mixed in to flesh out the "crowd."
